| Scarlett went out to the Christmas Tree patch, just to be alone. Christmas trees in January are a bit weird. Someone really need to clean this up, for she missed the strawberries. Sighing, and brushing her fiery red hair aside, she sat down near one of the trees. The Christmas trees looked dead, as if they just shouldn't be there. Well, they shouldn't be here in January, thought Scarlett. | |

| "In january time when the weather is cold, the chrsitmas trees, they look so old. Their pines are brown, their branches bare, as if they only wear underwear." I recite the poem that my mother had taught me as a child. She taught me lots of things as a child. I noted a girl near the patch, like myself. I walked over to her. "Hey..."

| Scarlett, hearing some guy's poem, mentally raised an eyebrow, since it was almost impossible to raise just one eyebrow. She turned around, to see a boy a couple years older. With a poem like that, he was probably an Apollo camper. Giving a shy smile, she said, "Hey." | |

| "They look so sad... Like they always knew that they'd only have a few months to live." I murmured, touching one of the bare branches, only a few spindly pines left. "I'm Seth by the way. Seth Costello." | |

| If he was planning to recite poems the whole time, Scarlett would be leaving. She peered at the other demigod, and saw that he was about 16, maybe older, maybe younger. Yawning boredly, she said, "I'm Scarlett," giving a weak smile, she added, "Scarlett Summers, daughter of Hegemone." | |

| "My poetic language boring you?" I asked, noting her obvious yawn. "I'm a son of Apollo. It's kind of a habit." I smirk. Oh, the joys of January. Festive season is over, and the working season begins once again. "They should really get rid of the christmas trees, though. I doubt the reminder of the past holiday would brighten anybody's spirits, especially when work looms over us." | |

| This dude was confusing her a bit, with the odd, poetic way he spoke. Scarlett got up, brushed pine leaves off her clothes, and replied, "Um... right." She reminded herself to stay away from Apollo kids in the future. It was awkward just standing there, so trying to make conversation, she said, "I miss those strawberries..." | |

| I thought for a moment. "If you miss the strawberries, then why don't you bring them back?" I then realised the error in my words. "What I mean is, why don't you clean up the christmas trees? With help, of course. Then you could get the Dionysus kids to re-grow the strawberries." | |

| This kid may have been annoying, but he was pretty smart. Scarlett could get a few Ares kids or something to help her clean up the trees. Then, those Dionysus kids could regrow the strawberries. There were a problem, though. Where would the trees go? Looking up at the kid, she asked, "That could work, but where would the trees go...?" | |

| I paused for a moment, to think again. "We could use the wood for firewood, or weapons, or building work, or other stuff like that." I offer up more ideas for the dying trees. "It would be nice to see them as useful in their dying state." | |

| Scarlett shrugged, "Ya, I guess." She felt stupid because she had no idea how to move the trees. Scarlett kicked a tree, but that just resulted in her hurting her toe, and scratching up her leg against the branches. A bit embarrassed, she asked, "How do we cut them down...?" | |

| "We could get a chain-saw from the Hephastaetus cabin. They're sure to have one. If all else fails, we find an axe." I suggest, using common sense. I couldn't wait to get rid of the christmas trees. Fruit was much more easy to write poetry about. Trees were pretty basic, and had been done before, so whatever I wrote was plaugarism. Or so other people claimed. | |

| Scarlett nodded in agreement, "Sure," she replied. She looked to the distance, past the borders of camp. She saw snow falling to the ground, coming to an abrupt stop at the magical borders of the camp that protected it from weather. So it was always bright and sunny inside Camp Half-Blood. She stifled a yawn, and smiled, without much to say. | |

| "The snow falls to the ground, white and pure, until muddied foot comes along, and the snow is no more." I mumbled under my breath. Poetry wasn't a habit. It was a way of life. "Shall we get started then?" | |

| Scarlett watched the snow falling to the ground. It wasn't really sticking, there was just a thin layer of dusty white snow. Scarlett, looking back to Seth, replied, "Sure," even though she had no clue how to use a chainsaw or an ax. | |

| I stopped to think for a third time. "If I'm being completely honest, I'm not exactly 100% sure on how to use a chainsaw, so we might need some help. Actually, we need help anyway. Before we deal with the trees, it would be most sensible to recruit some helpers." I offer yet more common sense to the plan. | |

| Maybe this kid isn't that annoying after all. Scarlett nodded in approval. So they would grab a bunch of chainsaws, and get people to help cut down trees with them. Good idea, thought Scarlett. Yawning, she replied, "Ya, I can't work a chainsaw either," she looked back to the snow. It fell to the ground faster, making a thin blanket that abruptly ended at the camp's border. In addition, she nodded, agreeing with everything he said. | |

| I stood still for a moment, looking at the border. "Such a shame. Don't you think the weather being permanantly sunny gets annoying from time to time? I mean, I like the sun and all, but a bit of rain once in a while would be nice. And imagine all the fun we're missing in the snow." I stop myself, before I start to ramble. I was pretty good at that. Not so good at walking in a straight line though. "Right... Where to first?" | |

| Scarlett nodded. Where she came from, there was a lot of snow during the Winter. She did miss it. In reply, she said, "Ya. Snow's fun to play in and stuff. It'd be cool to sled down Half-Blood hill..." she paused for a second, and said, "We should try to get some people to help, before we get the supplies..." | |

| I nodded in agreement. "Where forth shall we roam first? O'er to thee brethren? Or whence the fire came? Maybe to the children of the vine?" I ask her. I had no idea why i was speaking in old english. I just wanted to, I suppose. Even though I was italian. English was more poetic; the words flowed easier. I stopped my thoughts in their tracks, as to stop myself from getting distracted again, though it seemed as I had already failed at that. | |

| The Ares cabin was first on the list. But maybe Demeter? Or ask a few people from each cabin. How many people would they need. Scarlett, who was having thoughts of her own, snapped back to reality when she heard Seth say something. "Hmm? Okay..." she said, confused with his old English way of speaking. | |

| "Would you like me to repeat in plain English? I was basically asking where we should go. I think it would be smartest to go to the Hephaestus cabin first, to get the tools. And then Ares, to get the strong people. We could ask our cabins too, just to get extra hands on the job. Then later we could ask the Dionysus kids. Then again, that's just my opinion." I say, looking around the dead trees. I waited for her reply. | |

| Now she understood. This kid was pretty smart. Scarlett approved of his ideas, and nodding. Brushing her hair aside, she said, "Mhm. Let's start over at the Hephaestus cabin. Later, I can help with the strawberries because I'm a daughter of Hegemone..." she added. | |

| I raised my eyebrow inquisitively. "Hedemone? I've never met a child of Hegemone before. C'mon then! Over to the Hephaestus cabin it is!" | |

| Hmm, guess Hegemone didn't hang out with mortals much. Shrugging, she smiled shyly, "Mhm, let's go to the Hephaestus cabin," she said, in reply. She got up, and brushed the pine needles off her clothing. The snow started to get thicker on the ground, stopping abruptly at the camp's border. Scarlett smiled, and prepared to walk off to the cabins.
~Are you going to make a topic at the Hephaestus cabin, or should I, or what? | |
