I'm sure the lake would be cool...if I could see it [open]

"I was born in New York City, and was raised there my entire life. Well, atleast until I was nine." I stroked my chocolate brown hair out of my face. I stared at his cloudy eyed gaze.

My body tentioned the way it did when you know someone's staring at you. I tried not to look away uncomfotably. She was looking at my eyes like I was some normal person. Enjoy it, Jay. "Thats cool. Is that when you moved here?" I asked

"Yeah, Melina and I were attacked by fur- I mean, Kindly Ones. We escaped, discovered our powers, and all that. Once we made it to Camp Half-Blood, we met to campers, one Athena and one Apollo, and we were claimed. That's pretty much my story."

I grinned "Cool. My claiming story took a little longer...I guess Athena was embaressed. I would be too, if I was the wisdom goddess and goddess of battle stradegy and war and here onna my kids is blind. I'm actually surprised she claimed me at all. I guess she was bored because it was randomly in the dining pavillion." I shrugged.

"Don't say that," I began, "I'm sure your mom is proud to have you." I felt really bad for him, and I never really feel bad for anyone. I really mean anyone. "I'm sure of it."

I shrugged, "It's probaby true. Don't feel sorry for me, i mean, It's my own fault." I stuffed my hands in my pockets. "Athough im not sure what she'd be proudof. I mean, i can't even really fight." I scratched the back of my neck. "Its fine, really."

I hunched my eyebrows. "Well, how did you become blind in the first place?" I interigated. Jay seemed like a really nice guy, and I hated when I became all soft like that just because they're sweet. I liked being a spunky type of girl, but he seemed to easily bring the Ms. Softie side out of me.

I frowned. I raked my brain of how it happened but shook my head, dumbfounded. "I don't remember. It happened sometime when the hellhounds attacked and my dad got killed." I didn't like talking about it, but something told me I could trust this girl, which was different. Actually, I could get used to trusting her. I just might be able to.

I moved in closer to him, and put my arm around his waist, just to let him know I was there for him. "Well, if you ever want to talk about it, I'm your gal," I replied. I hoped he didn't find this akward or anything, because it even took me alot of strength just to do that. I guess I'm going to have to find out.

I almost shivered when she touched me. I nodded, feeling more secure. "Will do." I agreed with a grin. "Sounds like something I could deal with." I said

I returned the smile. I felt more at ease with him now. "I hope you don't mind me, uh, holding you like this," I said, smiling. I kept staring at his cloudy gray eyes.

I just realized how weird that was. I laughed. "Oh. No, your okay." I said reasuringly. Actually now that I think back on it, she was the first one who ever did that to me. Not even my dad had did it, which sounds lame, but true. "Your fine."

I grinned as I looked in his eyes. "Alrighty." I grabbed a pebble, and tossed it. It skitted across the lake quite gracefully.

I heard the pebble go across the water until it plopped back into the lake. "So how old are you?" she felt around 14 years old. Her voice sounded about that age too, but it's always nice to know.

"Fourteen," I replied. I threw another pebble into the lake. "How about you? You seem like you're fifteen to me.

I gave her a thumbs up. "Bingo." I sat back on my palms and hoped they weren't sweaty. "When do you turn 15?" I asked, trying to keep the convo going.

"October 25th," I said. "And you?" I threw another pebble in the water. It relaxed me as the water rippled.

I walked around the lake, day-dreaming like always paying attention to nothing around me as I walk in on a boy and a girl. I immediately felt embarrassed as this seemed very private. I looked at both of them and mumbled a quiet "Oh um I am sorry, didn't mean to disturb you or anything like this." I then looked at my feet and felt like a complete idiot.

I turned around, startled. "Oh, we're not doing anything," I rushed. "Would you like to join us?" I asked. I patted the ground next to me, gesturing him to come sit down.

I looked at them, they seemed nice but a few years younger. But I didn't care about stuff like that, I decided that I could take a break and sit down for a while. "Oh yea umm thank you." I told her, smiled and sat next to her. Then I fixed my rubberband to keep my hair out of my face.
"So who are you guys? I am Mike, son of Nike."

"Victoria Murphy, a child of Nike also," I replied. I took another pebble and threw it in the water. I stroked my chocolate brown hair out of my face, reavealing my amber eyes.

I got all excited, I never met a half-sibling before. "Wow really? Aww awesome, I thought I am the only one here. I am so happy now." I just busted out my emotion, which I normaly didn't do. Then I turned to the boy "And who are you?"

I looked back at him like i could see like a normal person. No reason freaking this kid out already. "Jay Windsor. Son of Athena." I replied, nodded my head in hello.

I looked at him, but something seemed odd about him, but I seen so many things I couldn't figure out what it was. "Son of Athena? That is awesome, I bet you are really smart. Nice to meet you" I put my hand out ready to shake his hand.

"Nice to meet you too." I replied. Yup. if i could see i'd be pretty smart. i'd hope so, anyway. the breeze from the lake drowned out his hand moving towards me to shake it, so i had no idea.
