"That makes sense. I guess I just really want to know what else other than steak they have here," I say pretending to be sad about it. I finished off my drink and started in on the last bit of my steak. "I do love the steak they have here."

I smiled and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "I love their steak too." I said. I actually finished mine and started looking at the deserts. "What do you want?" I asked, suddenly.

"I'm not all that hungry. Maybe we could split something?" I suggest, hoping she'd go for it. I was pretty full, but I was also trying to be romantic. Mostly to make up for the beach party.

"Sounds great," I tell her. "You okay you seem a little tense?" I ask, concern in my voice. I wondered what she was thinking about.

I didn't know what to say. Shouldn't he know this. I thought of one simple word. So I said it. "War." I said, kinda shocked. "I-It's coming. We need to hurry up." I said.

"Oh right, the war," I said. It seemed like the war was getting everyone down. I guess I couldn't blame them, but I was just hoping we'd have been out of this by now. "What are you gonna be doing?" I ask. wondering what her part in this would be.

"Fighting." I said. I just can't stand away and not. The whole camp is gonna be helping. Even Aphrodite girls. We could make perfumes that charm the monsters. That would be cool.

"I'm gonna be in what I guess is the infantry," I say absentmindedly. Leave it to the looming shadow of death and destruction to ruin a good first date. "Do you think we stand a chance?" I ask thinking about what would happen if we lost. Would I ever see her again.

"I'll be careful if you will," I say slightly joking, but also telling the truth. I wouldn't last long if she died. And if I did I wouldn't be the same. Ever.

I leaned on his shoulder and a tear rolled down my face. "You are that special someone." I said. I felt really tired, so I closed my eyes. I started to drift off to sleep.

I looked at Amber. "I guess I should get you back to camp then," I say placing a kiss on her forehead. I sat there a moment looking at her. I wish I knew that everything would be okay, but all I could do was hope.

I woke up slowly when he kissed my head. "Will you drive me?" I said. The waitress came over for the money. I lied back down on his shoulder.

"Can't let you drive in your sleep can I?" I asked smiling as I payed the bill. "Do you need me to carry you?" I ask only sort of joking.

I smiled at her. "Alright then," I say as I pick her up. I carry her out to the car and put her in the passenger seat. Then I got in buckled us both in and started the car. I looked at Amber's sleeping form. "Goodnight," I tell her giving her one last kiss before driving back to camp.

I rolled around in my sleep. I thought about good things. Make-up and such. Like my new Prada bag. And I dreamed about Steven.
