"Yeah I am." I said, staring towards the end of the hall. I knocked on a door directly to the left of the elevator.

A tall man in a navy blue suit and green tie. "Hello, who is- Raymond?"

"Hey dad." I said grinning.

I hugged my father. "Thank Athena your okay."

I smiled at the moment. Although, I was a bit jealous, though I didn't show it. I kept my grip on my sword in my pocket. I didn't want anything to happen to my siblings, and that meant protecting Raymond's father also. I scanned the enviorment skeptically. Nothing - yet.

He pulled out of the hug and looked at me seriously. "Aren't you supposed to be at camp?"

"Yeah." I said looking at him strangely.

"So why aren't you?"

"I just needed to know you were okay."

I fiddled with my sword in my pocket. It was really becoming a bad habit, but it's what I did when I was worried that something will attack us. I scanned the place once more. There was nothing insight, and there was nothing hiding. For once we might actually get a break.

"I am glad your safe dad."

He smiled warmly "And who are these lovely ladies?" He asked me, referring to the two behind me.

"Those are my half-sisters, dad." I said blushing.

"half-sisters," I corrected. I turned around only to spot nothing. I had to be on-guard. If something attacked us right now, infront of Raymond's dad, I couldn't let him die. Or so much be captured, like mine.

"So what are you doing out of the camp?"

"Well, we..." I turned to Melina as if to ask, 'Can I tell him?'

I nodded at Raymond. "My dad was kidnapped by one of the gorgons," I said. "We're going to find him. We kind of snuck out."

My father looked down, probably thinking this through, "Well do you have any leads?" He asked after a few quiet minutes.

"Well, no." I said quickly. "Not really.

"I've heard that she dwells in Aunty Em's Guarden Emporium," I replied. "Tons of statues, the perfect place. We'd have to ride all the way to New York to get there though."

"I could get you a ride." Said my father, and just like that he pulled out three tickets for a non-stop flight to New York. "They're for emergencies. But this qualifies as an emergency."

He handed me the tickets. "Thanks dad."

As we were headed towards the door he said, "Oh, and Raymond. I'm sorry."

I pushed the button of the elevator, and it came up in just a few seconds. Walking in, with my siblings at my sides, I thought about out next destination. The gorgon's lair. I recited the myth of Perseus and how he slayed Medusa. He was gifted the shoes of Hermes, and my mom's shield, the Aegis. I was unsure of how we would be able to defeat her, but we had to. We just had to.

I leaned against the elevator feeling a little dizzy. Everthing that had happened in the last 24 hours rushed in my mind, leaving camp, the furies, almost getting killed and meeting Raymond's dad who seemed nice.

As the elevator doors opened we saw three snake-woman chatting away, with there hell-hounds on diamond studded leashes on the other side of the hallway. When they saw us they took out there spears and charged towards us. Quickly, I started jamming on the elevator buttons. At the last second the elevator close getting a hellhounds tail stuck in the process.

"Ugh... I knew something was following us. Thank the gods your dad is okay." I released my grip from my sword in my pocket. I didn't need to worry about anymore encounters. At least, for now.

I sighed. "Do we demigods ever get a break!?" The elevator opened up on the third floor again.

My dad was standing in the hallway holding a folder, "Oh hello again. What happened to going to the airport? Oh and here's some cash too. I forgot earlier." He handed me a wad of some $200.

I stalked out. I was mad but I didn't want to take it all out on my dad, "Thanks, we ran into trouble downstairs. It's nothing." I stepped to the right and went down the stairs. When we got down to the first floor we saw the snake-women and hell hounds in the elevator. The doors were already closing and they didn't notice us. Hopefully they would search the the whole building and by the time they found out we slipped away, we would be boarding our plane. I stepped back into the crisp autumn air of Ohio and stepped onto the bus, which was conveniently waiting for us, to take us to the airport.

I followed Raymond onto the bus, Crystal following behind me. Picking out a random seat, we sat down together, me in the middle. "Okay, so I've heard Medusa's lair is a few corners away from where the airport will drop us off. If we are capable of getting there without being detected, this just might be easy. Although, you must remember how Perseus defeated Medusa. Don't look in her eyes, or you'll turn to stone."

I nodded in agreement."But how are we suppose to fight something we can't look at?" I pulled my sweat shirt tighter around me feeling a chill.

I understood Crystal's logic, and explained to her how we could win. "Simple," I said. "We can't look at her directly, but we can look at her [i]indirectly/i]. We use something, like a mirror, and look at her in that. She's isn't capable of turning us to stone if use that specific item, so basically, we've already won."

"We'll does anyone have a mirror or something we can see the reflection of?" I ask. I didn't really feel like getting turned into stone.
