Scratching my ear, I stared at the water while sinking my toes into the sand. Man, was I bored. Nothing was happening around camp lately. My skills were starting to get rusty. Snorting, I rolled my eyes at myself. What skills? I was the weak Hades kid, the skills I spoke of were nonexistent. There was nothing. Zip. Nada. Zilch. Ha, when did I start to dwell so much on my weaknesses?

The grainy bits of sand tickled my bare feet as I trudged through the beach. I wonder, can you count how many glasses of water you can fill with the whole ocean? Maybe millions. Or even zillions... if there was such a digit. Could the whole ocean go dry? What would happen then? I tapped my chin, trying to think of an answer. Was there even an answer? Letting out an outward breath, I pivoted with one heel to face the ocean. "Why do you have to be so big?" Oh, don't mind me. I'm just slightly delusional and, well, my mind is always far off. Some people say I always day dream and space out for no reason. And I, on the other hand, think they're too serious. Too much talk about war. If I hear another violent word, I'm pretty sure my ears will start bleeding. Nah, that's just impossible. Unless you shout and make my ear drums pop. That's a different story though.

"You're not going to greet me? Kids these days." I said, shaking my head in mock disapproval before raising my eyebrow at the girl who had intruded on my negativity. "Name's Ace. That sounded dirty, by the way." I commented, meaning the 'why do you have to be so big?' contemplation.

"Oh, pardon me..." I allowed my voice to trail off as I dug my feet deeper into the ground, afraid that I'd be carried away by shame. Honestly, my people skills are non existent. They're like next to nothing. Guess I should've thought twice before going to an over populated area... Oh well, can't do anything about it now.

"Hey." I said, fighting to keep the worry from colouring my tone. "You alright?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows because she looked kinda meek and pathetic at the moment so naturally, I wondered if she had a sense of humour or not. Seriously, my little snarks aren't supposed to offend anyone or get them down in the dumps - not that I blame her or anything, it's understandable that someone might take something I say to heart. I am, after all, extremely fabulous.

Aaron appeared out of shadow travel on the beach, right beside two campers, and accidentally splashing some water on the guy. "Oh, sorry kid" he said, "Damn openings are never where I want them to be these days" he muttered to himself. He brushed the kicked up sand off his shorts, which was rare, since Aaron didnt have many pairs of shorts, and then remembered he was holding a sword on the way into the shadows, he looked around, confused, then sighed and reached behind the guy, pulling the sword out of the sand behind him, retracted it, and put it in his pocket. "Sorry bout that, you two", he looked over the pair, and sensed family, well, close family, "Im Aaron Rost, Son of Hades, nice to meet you bro"

Shadow traveling never seizes to amaze me. I quite like the idea of getting to appear out of nowhere. Not that I needed a dramatic entrance or anything; attention isn't my kind of thing.
Trying to fight off walking away, I bit my lower lip and started playing with my shoulder length braid. It tickled my back, for somehow it found itself a nice hiding spot under my shirt. How odd. I don't really remember tucking my braid in...With a sigh, I expelled the idea and let the knotted length of hair dangle upon my shoulder. "Yes, yes. I'm quite alright. Please excuse me for my comment, I have a tendency to be a tad bit far off." I cleared my throat and somehow found the courage to raise my head. "I'm Bianca Moretti, daughter of Urania."

Kid? I snorted, even though I was slightly threatened by this brother of mine. Was threatened even the right word? It was more like frightened, although I wouldn't admit it. "Hey Aaron, I'm Ace. I feel compelled to tell you that I am eighteen - by no means, a 'kid.'" I said, crossing my arms to cover up that I had flinched when he pulled the sword out from behind me. Scratching my ear, I looked at him warily before averting my eyes elsewhere. "Nice to meet ya, Bianca."

Aaron and Ace. Both their names started with the letter A, and they were both children of Hades. How amusing. I fiddled with my fingers, hoping that I wasn't getting in the middle of something. Like I said before, I seriously HATE attention. Think of it as a personal weakness. A flaw. "Am I disturbing a personal meeting of sorts? If so, I didn't really mean to. You see, I was just walking and then-" I pursed my lips, feeling a flush coming along. Too much information plus a hesitant voice wasn't exactly what people call confident. And I totally agree. I'm not like several of the other girls who are hardwired with fiery and uplifting spirits. Or a strong personality. In fact, I just blend in. I've never had the courage to stand out in my life.

Squaring my shoulders and drawing myself up to my full height, I grimaced slightly and tapped my foot once before stopping. I don't know, maybe I have some sort of macho complex or something but I really hated being thought to be younger than I was. "Nope, not interrupting a personal meeting. This... encounter was unplanned." I said, glancing at Aaron sideways as I said the second sentence.

Aaron smiled inwardly, did Ace think he could beat him in a fight? "Well, if your insulted by my thoughts, Im taller than you" he said, pointing out the inch of difference. "You also look like you've never seen someone coming out of shadow travel, so I'd put my money on you being bad with using powers."

"Yeah, but you're freakishly tall so it would be kinda dumb to think someone's a kid just 'cause they're shorter than you." I pointed out and narrowing my eyes. "I have seen someone shadow travel, thank you very much, but you're right about the powers thing. I haven't really gotten used to the whole necromancy thing and I don't think I ever really will. I'm hoping that my swordsmanship will improve with practice though." I said, before registering what he had said and snorting.

"Are you trying to pick a fight with me? 'Cause if it's any consolation to your ego, buddy, I won't fight you 'cause I know I'd lose and beating myself up when it's unnecessary isn't too high on my to-do list."

I wiggled my toes, scrunched my nose then started rocking back and forth on my heels. The forward and back motion soothes me for some reason, probably it's like the direction of my mind; into fantasy and back to reality. It's a tiresome cycle that's developed into a habit. Sometimes, I hate myself for daydreaming too much; for not contributing to camp in any way. I feel more like a burden than anything else. "Listen, if you need some time alone to settle things...I can go."

"Nah" Aaron said, "Its fine, and Im not 'freakishly tall', Im only like, an inch over you", he took a seat in the sand, "Also, Im not one to pick fights with siblings, but I could help you with your powers, and your swordfighting, if you want..." he trailed off and held out his hand, a ball of darkness appeared, "Im good with shadows"

"Look, you're not interrupting anything so quit worryin' about it. If you want to leave so badly, go. Nobody's stopping you." I snapped at the girl, rolling my eyes in irritation before turning to Aaron. "No thanks. I like to do things on my own. The offer's an appreciated gesture though." I said, tone flat as I shuffled from foot to foot. Sometimes, I just needed to say some probably mean sounding things - bottling them up wasn't healthy at all. But people like her really annoyed me, I couldn't help it. All I gotta say is if you can't handle the heat, get outta the kitchen.

Sometimes I ask myself why I even bother talking to people. All I ever get is the same response, 'Just get out if you want to' or 'Gee, what's your problem?'. I guess my way of reaching out or trying to converse with anyone isn't widely accepted. But, hey, I understand. Why hang out with people who drag you down and bore you? Why hang out with weak people? What do you get from them anyway? Silence? I tried to give them my best smile, and pretended not to be bothered or hurt by what Ace stated. It was true anyway. "Sorry." I managed to choke out before shuffling towards wherever I end up next. Yep, I've been in camp for a year. 380 days and counting. And still, I feel as incomplete as the day I got here. Maybe I should just be like everyone else and develop a strong personality; would I be understood then?

I laughed inwardly. No one in their right mind would want to understand me. I've been trying to be understood for a year now. I've been trying to understand myself. But it seems like the stars are the only ones constant and willing to listen. After all, aren't we all just lost travelers?

Aaron laughed, "Geez, dont be so rude", he looked over at the girl, "Hes just pissy because he cant do this", Aaron took his ball of darkness and launched it at Ace, promptly knocking him off his feet, and about a foot backwards, "Too bad, I could have taught you that" I smiled, "and this" waving goodbye to the girl to make her feel appreciated, then dissipated into the shadows, but leaving a shadow shaped like himself in place, which disappeared slowly.

Swearing in Ancient Greek under my breath, I rubbed my neck and frowned at the soreness. Cursed show-off. Sure, I had deserved that and it hadn't done any real damage, but man, it still ticked me off. It was really... idiotic that us demigods found the need to resort to violence to solve all our problems. Sometimes, I really resented being half divine. I also really resented the acquaintances I made here. All of them. Well, Ronnie and Lawrence were okay, but everyone else - not so okay.

Whatever. Just 'cause some guy tried to teach me lesson didn't mean I was gonna learn it. I would do as I pleased, thank you very much, didn't need some chivalrous powerhouse guy to demonstrate his strength on me. I already had morals. Anyways, I was too stubborn and proud to apologize to the chick. She'd get over it. I didn't even care much for necromancy skills, the guy just assumed that I was interested. Naw, shadow traveling and bombarding people with little focused balls of darkness just didn't appeal to me.

I mean, it sounded cool and all but it wasn't my method of fighting. I wasn't even sure what my method of fighting was yet. Sighing, I brushed off my slightly charred shirt and walked off - sure to forget the entire experience after a good ol' nap.

"Well, well, well. Looks like someone's being a little overdramatic today. Mind if I join in the hysteria?" Ah, Ronnie. You and your awesome entrance skills. Sometimes I amaze even myself. With a smirk, I waved at Ace from the tree branch I flung myself in a few moments before the beautiful scene developed. "My gods, Ace, you didn't tell me that you were capable of starring in soap operas. I think we have hollywood material right here." I inspected the view from where I sat before flinging a pair of black ray bans at Mr. Excuse Me I'm 18. I really do admit that the sea was gorgeous today, probably because that it wasn't overcrowded by cheesy lovers going for a dip.

Pausing mid-step, I only half registered that something was being thrown at me when it landed in my arms and I fumbled to keep it from falling or getting broken. Letting out a breath I didn't know I had been holding, I looked at Ronnie with a raised eyebrow and then slipped on the sunglasses. "Well, now that I've got my stylish shades, I'm totally prepared for Hollywood. Here, you can be my muse." I had totally forgotten about Reese before too. List of decent (in my opinion) people in Camp Half-Blood: Lawrence, Reese, and Ronnie.

I sat in the sand on the beach, merely 30 feet away from the group, and yet to be seen, he decided that it was time to be seen, and yelled over "Hey, got a pair for me? The sun isnt my best friend at the moment!", he laughed, lies, it wasn't just now, he was a dark person, dark family on the godly side, litterally, God of Darkness, and goddess of Night.

Of course, he was pretty close in with his mom, deceit, he knew it, and he used it, now, On to pretending to be nice...

I sauntered forward towards the beach, the warm sand engulfing my feet with each step. Flames danced around my hair; I was feeling exuberant, and the beach was my favorite place to be at Camp, when I had a little downtime.

I approached the group slowly. "Hey everybody!" I shouted at them. "I'm assuming the position of crashing this little party you have here." He laughed jokingly; playfully.
