Adaline loved the strawberry fields. It was the perfect place to practice her violin. She loved the amphitheater, but the strawberry fields had a calmness that she enjoyed. Barely anyone was there other than the Demeter or Dionysus children. She especially loved the strawberry fields in the summertime at sunset where there was a warmth that seemed to sweep over the fields. As the sun started to sink down towards the fields, Adaline stopped at the strawberry fields with her violin case at her side. She stopped in the middle of the empty fields and pulled out her violin from in side the velvet case. The sky's blue color was starting to fade to reddish pink.

She looked at the sky quickly before beginning to play. She wasn't that good, but she didn't care. No one here was going to judge her, most of the campers were at the Mess Hall. Eventually, Adaline lost track of time. She looked back at the sky to notice it turned dark and the stars were beginning to come out. She could've stayed there all night just playing her violin, and she was until she heard a rustle. Her hand holding the bow immediately stopped moving. Her face turned ashen gray as she cursed out loud. She had forgotten a weapon. Adaline looked where the rustle had come from expecting the worst, but instead saw a person. She let go of her breath and relaxed, her face turning to it's original color. "Sorry I thought you were a monster." She apologized. "I'm sorry if I bothered you with my playing." She said her face turning to a red. She quickly went back to her violin case and started putting everything back in embarrassment.

Adaline looked up at the boy when he said he enjoyed listening to it. She didn't think she was that good, but she appreciated the compliment. "Oh um thanks." She said giving him a warm smile. "Do you play any instruments?" She asked as she tucked a piece of chocolate brown hair behind her ear. Adaline studied the boy for a moment. She obviously didn't know him, but he looked familiar. She had probably seen him around camp or in the strawberry fields once or twice. "I'm Adaline by the way, daughter of Hecate." She said abruptly.

Adaline would've preferred to have kept playing, but she was starting to get hungry. At some point she would have to get something to eat. The Mess Hall was closed by now because most of the campers preferred to eat earlier. She was always one of the last to get to the Mess Hall, but she didn't care. It was better that she got to be by herself than with the noisy campers. "I would love to keep playing, but I have to go get dinner. Did you eat yet?" She paused before continuing, "I was going to go get something off campus. You can come with if you'd like, my treat." It was rare that she ever got to do something nice for someone else, and she barely knew him, but this could be her chance to make a new friend. Adaline quickly packed up the rest of her violin before standing up and giving him another sheepish smile.

Adaline's face lit up with another smile when he mentioned the piano. "I can play the piano. I learned how to play when-" This was where she paused. She didn't know when she had started to play because she didn't have any memories. She had lost her memories to, she didn't even know what made her loose her memories. No one knew what it felt like to not remember anything; school, friends, family, parties, absolutely nothing. It was rare that she ever thought about it and now was not the time to think about it. By the time she said something though, her bright smile was gone. "So you play guitar? I've never learned how to play that before." She quickly added on.

"Yeah she is, but I'm not very good at magic." She said with a laugh. "So if you're a son of Demeter does that mean you can grow anything at anytime?" Adaline asked curiously. In the first time in forever, Adaline was having a great time talking with someone that enjoyed most of the same things she enjoyed. She had never met a son of Demeter considering she mostly talked to the Aphrodite children. They always seemed to be welcoming and they were always easy to talk to which she appreciated.

Adaline could've just invited a murderer to eat with her, but it didn't matter. It was too late now, and he seemed nice enough anyway. At least they bonded over their love for music. It was starting to get late, and she didn't want the harpies to find them so they would have to leave eventually. She would've preferred to sleep outside under the stars than actually sleep in her cabin. She doubted anyone would notice if the two of them went off campus. No one seemed to notice right now and it was pretty late. Adaline smiled. "Great. I just have to put my violin back in my cabin and grab my wallet. I could meet you at Thalia's Pine." She said as she grabbed her violin case.

Adaline smiled brightly at him. "That'd be great. I would love to learn how to play the guitar. I could teach you the piano if you'd like." She offered. She never taught someone how to play piano before, but it couldn't be that hard. She'd seen the Apollo children teaching others in the amphitheater when she was there. She knew how to play the piano extremely well. She was better than some of the Apollo children, and she could practically play it with her eyes closed. The piano was something Adaline had grown up with even if she couldn't remember who taught it to her or when she first started playing. She couldn't remember anything from her past, only the piano. It was the only puzzle piece she had from her past, but she had a faint memory of her teaching piano to a small girl with dark bangs and bright blue eyes. If she could teach a little kid how to play piano the, she could certainly teach Scott how to play the piano. "When did you first start playing guitar?" She asked with another smile.

Adaline watched him with amazement. It was rare she got to see anyone's powers, so this was exciting for her to watch. When he finished, he treated it like it was no big deal. It was a great power to have, better than anything she could do. She looked at him with astonishment. "That's so cool. The only thing I can do is levitate objects." She said, sighing. She couldn't do much because she was still learning. She didn't know how to do anything cool like spells or anything like that. She knew a few, but she'd never tried them before and she wouldn't be trying them anytime soon."Can you do anything else?" She asked excitedly.

"Okay, see you then."

Adaline tried to walk to Thalia's Pine as quietly as she could do the harpies wouldn't notice her. It harder than she thought because every step she took she managed to break a branch or step on a pile of leaves. She was trying to walk quickly too so she wouldn't keep him waiting. When she finally reached their meeting place, she breathed a sigh of relief. By this time, the sun was down and the moon was starting to show more. "I'm here." She said before standing next to him. "Where do you want to go eat? We could go to a diner, get sushi, get cheeseburgers, I'm up for anything really. Everything is better than camp food." Adaline said with another small smile. "We could walk or we could use my car."

Adaline smiled before replying, "Okay." Already, so many different types of restaurants seemed to appear in her mind. She pulled her car keys out of her back pocket and pressed the unlock button repeatedly. She looked around for the convertible in the dark parking lot. She saw the flash of lights from the car and whispering loudly, "I found it!" She grabbed his arm lightly pulling him towards the car with her. She opened the car door before sitting down in the driver's seat and buckling her seatbelt. "Don't worry, I have a driver's license." Whether it was real or not was a different story.

As Adaline pulled out of the camp parking lot, she turned on the radio that somehow was still working. Immediately, a Beethoven song started playing. "Sorry." She mumbled to him. She turned off the radio with a bright red face. She paused for a moment before asking, "So how long have you been at camp?" A few moments later, they arrived at the Japanese restaurant. She parked the car in the almost empty parking lot before getting out. "Have you ever had sushi before?" She asked with a smirk.
