| W I N T E R Q U A Y Winter ducked, narrowly escaping the arrow that was aimed straight for her, or rather, for the weapon in her hand. She knew that the campers couldn't kill her; it was against the rules, but it still didn't stop the poor demigod from feeling the fear deep in her heart. The others just wanted to disarm her, to make sure that she didn't finish her task of finding the flag, wherever that was. Winter didn't really know what exactly she was doing, but she knew it didn't include getting captured by the blue team. It was odd, being on the red team. Blue had always been her color. It had represented ice and snow and storm, the three things she loved. Winter wasn't a cold person, per say, but her powers were, and it made people think she was heartless and cruel, which totally wasn't the case. Amelia was one of the warmest, most kindest people you'd ever have the grace to meet. Powers could be deceiving.
So looking at the person who shot the arrow, Winter ran, feeling her feet hit the prickly needles of the forest floor. Okay, going barefoot wasn't the smartest idea she'd ever had, but she was curious. Isn't that what people naturally were? Curious? And if they were curious, didn't they quench their curiosity by doing the thing that interested them? Winter wasn't sure, really, because she had always been protected before she came to camp, and she never got to indulge in this sort of thing. Even though her feet ached with every stride she took, Winter carried on, determined not to be captured and disarmed. Although, they couldn't really disarm her of her ice powers. Those were untouchable and locked away inside her warm, beating heart. Thinking quickly, and perhaps not exactly rationally, Winter made ice burst from her hands, freezing the ground behind her. Frost and ice quickly surrounded the trees, making it impossible for her enemy to pursue her further. But, at the same time, a thorn got caught in her toe, making Winter fall to the ground and yell out in pain. | |

| This wasn't the twins' first capture the flag game. They had been at camp for quite a while, and had participated in the games before. However, they had never really worked together. Often one of them was placed on defense and the other on offense, but this time they were both tasked with finding the flag, giving them a unique opportunity. Alexander was leading the way, his sword Kurios out in front of him to push low lying branches and bushes to the side. He looked forward to working with his sister this round. They were always stronger together, both metaphorically and physically. Their swords each had an enchantment that made both the blades and their wielded stronger while in the presence of the other. Alexander was keeping quiet for the most part, although stealth wasn't much of an option with the big red plume on his head. He understood why the marking was required, but he still wished he could have a bandana or a cape or anything that didn't stick up when he was trying to lay low. While Alexander pushed forward, Sasha took up the back. Her back was to his, relying on him to clear any debris out of the way so that she wouldn't trip and fall. She had her sword, Xenious, poised and ready. She had been looking forward to this opportunity for a long time. She and her brother often got along, but things like an interest in boys by her or an interest in girls by him got in the way of things a lot. Right now, they were working as a unit. No conflict, no fighting (at least between them), just unity as brother and sister. While Alexander had his face in a bush to clear it away, Sasha saw a glimmer of white and blue in the corner of her eye. Jabbing her brother with her elbow to get his attention, she nodded in the direction of the ice. With a silent nod, Alexander then started following her, switching roles as they slowly approached it. When Sasha saw a glimpse of a red plume, she smiled, picking up the pace slightly. Then, she heard the cry of pain and a thump as a body hit the ground. Without a moment of hesitation, she and her brother ran the rest of the way to the location of their team mate. While Alexander stood guard, Kurios in his right hand and his left raised so that he could create a field if needed. Sasha kneeled down to inspect the girl, asking "What happened?" | |
