matt sighed as he strolled across asks fifth avenue, hands stuffed in the pockets of his navy blue peacoat. a frown has fixated itself on his face — a sight quite rare to find on the seventeen year old's face. the source of his ill feelings this afternoon was not because he was hunting monsters, but rather it was because of something… different.
on most occasions, he quite enjoyed shopping, but today was different. he couldn't quite find something to buy with the wad of christmas money he received as presents. matt had planned on catching up on some late christmas presents, especially ones for his moms and good friends. thus, this put him in an even worse mood.
but once he turned to leave the building, something in his peripheral vision caught his eye. once he turned to the silhouette, a smile lit up his face.

Emily was going through Saks on Fifth Avenue, going on one of her frequent shopping trips in which she spent an entire fortune. Shopping was like therapy for her, it was like putting a child of Apollo in a music store or a hospital- they would feel like they belonged. She went through the rows of stands and shelves that displayed different luxury items that she debated buying. Much to her frustration, Emily couldn't find anything that she wanted exactly. Money definitely wasn't a problem, she had bought bags of clothes at Barney's earlier, but it was like nothing caught her eye at one of her favourite places in the world, which was incredibly frustrating for her.
She scanned the general area that she was standing in to look for something that would catch her eye, but instead of finding something, she found someone. Right before her eyes stood one of her close friends from camp, Matt. She walked over, a smile on her lips. "Matt, I'm almost offended that you didn't invite me to come along when you decided to come to Saks of all places." she said, letting out a small laugh.

matt smiled sheepishly, scratching the back of his head. "sorry, babe. i'll make sure to do that next time." he and emily were good friends, but the pair have always been quite touchy with each other. many times have the two been mistaken as a couple. perhaps it might've been the fact that they were often caught holding hands or pecking each other's cheeks, but everything between both of them was just all play. he saw emily as nothing other than a good friend he could be playful with.
"but now that i'm here, do you need some help?" he snaked a hand around her waist as he bumped his hip to hers. standing at 5'10, matt towered over emily by a mere three or four inches. he kissed the top of her head. "i'm always free for you."
