| caine cowlstoch The Creek was a sight to see as a lonely sun drifted lazily out of the sky, a reddish tint appearing in the sky. Night was falling. Caine's favourite time was night. He enjoyed the dark, and the creatures, and oh! He enjoyed the serenity and peace brought about by this all encompassing obscurity. Poe enjoyed it the most. He fed himself, mostly. A diet of worms and aphids. Or the occasional rat.
It would be a feast for Poe if he found a rat. And a lasting memory of peace for Caine, devoid of conversation, devoid of... Human interaction... Oh, how he despised those two words. And Pink. And the Aphrodite cabin. But that was besides the point.
He sat underneath the growing shade, his glee growing larger and large the more the sun began to dive underneath a set of nearby mountains. The denouement of his glee came as soon, darkness fell and he was alone, in his mothers eternal embrace, with Poe squawking overhead.
Then, a disturbance destroyed his hopes of tranquility. A ruffling of a bush. A snapping of a twig, and the, a glowing flame which caused him to jolt back, nearly entering the Creek. A sound was being emitted, which was unintelligible but becoming clearer as it waddled closer.
It was the humming of another Half Blood. A feminine being, by the highly strung vocal chords that were attacking a song like a wolf in a sheep herd. "Why must they disturb my solitude?" Caine thought, before drawing his weapon and activating his impenetrable cloak of darkness, or so he had thought. "WHY DO YOU DISTURB ME, FELLOW CAMPER!?" Caine bellowed from his camouflage, aiming to intimidate the girl. "WHYYYYYY?" He bellowed again.

| Aria gasped and threw her head back. She stretched out her arms and legs while admiring the environment around her. She had been running for the whole day. She had woken up this morning, not even sore from training the day before. Annoyed, Aria let off some steam by running. Soon she found she couldn't exactly stop. Even when she did pause from her sprint to greet someone or do whatever, she was still jogging slightly, exercising her fingers and wrists. She never stalled for long, bounding off, fast as lightning.
Now she was at Euros Creek, only now feeling the burn. She wiped her brow and released her hair, letting in wave down and cover her shoulders. She blew a stray strand out of her eye.
Then she blinked and cocked her head over to her right. She could hear something. Without any caution, she bustled through the bushes and then broke through, leaves caught in her already messy enough hair. She blinked when she saw a boy in front of her. A normal girl would have been completely over whelmed with embarrassment. Aria wasn't exactly a normal girl. She stepped out further, a huge smile spread over her lips.
"Hi! Enjoying the view?"

| caine cowlstoch The girl had disturbed his peace. His utopia. He guessed he would have to interact with the she-devil, a boundless form of energy which he would kindly ask to buzz off somewhere else. Placing his face in the palm of his hand, he sighed. "Nice to make your acquaintance. I'm Caine. Yes the Creek is delightful in the evening, hmm?" Caine muttered to the girl as Poe flew back from his hunt, mouth full of worms, onto the boy's shoulder.
Petting the avian creature, he then stroked the feathered area, leading to its beak, to athe delighted squawks of the crow. "So What ragtag excuse for a god do you belong to? Let me guess, Aphrodite, because you're stupidity is really on par with my expectations, darling." Caine snapped, laughing cynically. "Or are you just a lost nymph looking for a home?" Caine teased again, enjoying himself. "Are you lost, munchkin? Need a strapping, handsome young man to escort you to your desired destination?" Caine again teased. "This is fun. In case you hadn't heard, I'm a son of Nyx. THE son of NYX." Caine said with a final huff, before sitting down and refusing to speak.

| Aria kept her grin, but inside thoughts were buzzing around like crazy up in her head. He seemed nice enough, but he seemed.... Poetic. That's a nice word. She nodded enthusiastcly, "It's gorgeaus! Perfect place to end a sprint!" She looked up and got a touch of the warm, orange sunlight on her shoulders and neck. She looked back down at him, still of course smiling. He seemed okay!
Then he started to talk more. No. He started to insult more. Her smile weakened only slightly at the corners of her mouth. She only really caught words like "stupidity" "nymph" and "munchkin". She was 5"7'! Now, two things about Aria influenced the two major possibilites that could come about. 1) Aria was a born and raised New Yorker. She was tough and had a pretty rough time of it in "the greatest city in the world". Someone goes and insults you, be it as refined as this or just slang smack as Aria called it, you didn't take it. In Aria's case, you kick them in the stomach and steal their wallet and their Rollex. 2) In her time at camp, Aria had become popular and well-liked. She wouldn't be if she attacked anyone she had a bad start with. This time around the latter won.
"Wow, Nyx. Dark and mysterious. I like it." She grinned, holding back a sharp tongue. She stiffened up a little bit, "Hermes actually." If you insult my Godly parent, I break your face. Calm Aria, calm.
Then she heard it. Her eyes flickered and a small genuine smile came over her lips, "You're from Brooklyn. I hear it!" Then her happiness turned to shock, "Wait.... You're from the Bronks. You?!" Don't add What the hell is wrong with you Aria, don't do it. She had a lot of friends from Brooklyn and sure they could be sarcastic and mean, but it was always funny. This dude was just... Horrible. Just really horrible.

| "Bronx born and raised." Caine laughed, his deep voice coming out somewhere between heartwarming and Brian Blessed. "Don't pickpocket me, Daughter of Hermes. We are both children of the shadows, in two varying degrees. You, a mistress of thieves, and I, a puppet-master of the infinite void of night." Caine laughed again, this time swaying back toward the average laugh a person would expect, not some booming of a Collosus towering above them.
Caine watched as Poe squawked and landed on the branch nearest Aria. "Looks like Poe likes you."
Then the bird squawked again, before swopping down to peck the girl.
"Poe! CEASE! CEASE!" He called. "Aria, are you okay?"

| "Oh wow. I'm from good ol' NYC myself." She said with a smile. It was... Um.... Lovely to meet someone from her end. He started to talk again. Aria hid a little frown. Poor kid must've got wailed on so many times. Ince she,had finished it took her a while to snap back from her fantasy of stereotypical kids froom Brooklyn kicking the crap outta mini Caine, dressed in all black with scene boy hair shouting Shakespearen curses out at the sky. "Oh okay, um, shadow children doing it for themselves, ditto."
Aria's head cocked up to look at the raven. Then it swooped down, like it was in the Hitchcock movie, "Birds". Aria dodged out of the way swiftly, actually going through that movie in her head.
Finally she turned to make the joke she was going to make before the crazy bird had tried to kill her, "Poe? You called the raven...Poe?" She snorted. With that out of her system, she grinned at him, "Am I alright? Aw. You do care!" Don't add you emo jerk Aria...
