| I stepped out of the shadows. "Probably because her mom told him the truth. That's why Dean left." I answered Dari' question. I looked al Alcander. "Hi, I'm Max, son of Ares." I smiled a bright young kid smile making me look 10 instead of 11. My bright blue eyes studied him to make sure I could take him on in a fight.

| I stared at him a moment, eyeing his hand curiously before nodding my head as a reply. I then smirked. "Black as a raven..." I repeated. "Then I'd be able to say 'You have my eyes!'," I said. My tone was mocking and sounded like a mother exclaiming with joy when she saw her baby had eyes like hers. I watched Dari pull her hand away from mine and I sighed before turning my pure black gaze back to Max.

| As a twelve year old I looked adorable to older people, and this was a strategy I used often in fights. "So who's your friend?" I asked with fake excitement. I looked at Kardel. I got ready for a fight going over strategies and my eyes clouded until they were black. All emotion drained from my face making me look 14. I coiled ready to jump up.

| "Are you seriously going to try to kill me after I saved your live yesterday?" I said through gritted teeth before jumping. I made a backflip in the air so I landed neatly on my feet a few feet further away from Dari and Alcander. My hand shot out. I was holding hard leather balls. They shot out of my hand hoping to hit them before I charged at Alcander. No-one calls me a kid. I lashed out at his ribs then jumped up to try and plant three swift blows in the jaw.
