Central Park date, what could go wrong? (Jason and blu. And now faith lehane)

Of course I was distracted when Skye decided that Jason would make a lovely target.
Poor Kaylin. My compassion went as far as to understand her pain. Not the love she would feel for him, but the pain that she felt at this moment.
When the arrow let loose from Skye's bow, I was incredibly distracted, watching Kaylin try to keep back tears.
Without so much as looking to Skye or to the arrow, I flicked my hand, and the arrow changed course, flying up to the sky as a White Dove. A symbol of peace. Maybe it would send a message to my Hunter's.
'Skye. Refrain from shooting that Jackalope please. It is... obviously very precious to Kaylin,' I didn't give a glance, instead crouching beside the girl and putting my hand on her shoulder.
'I apologize about that. My Hunter's enjoy the challenge of a moving target, and well, there hasn't been a Jackalope in a while.'
I sorta trailed off then, a little ashamed that I wasn't able to comfort her more.
'The answer to that question is hard Kaylin. He insulted, messed with and annoyed a Goddess. Hera would have had him turned into a Cow and turned into Mince. Zeus would have been worse, although he is not a Maiden. I am not to be "Messed with". Jason would need to repent, and that sort of change requires a sacrifice. Not something large, but most definitely a sacrifice.'
The sacrifice could be anything. Anything at all, but he would also have to feel like repenting. To ask for forgiveness and to show it.
Skye and the other Hunter's had resumed their laughing, almost drunk with tears in their eyes and probably pain in their sides. Charlie wasn't laughing with them, instead taking up her intent stare, studying Kaylin, wondering how she loved this boy.

Kaylin nodded and swallowed back tears. She understood where the goddess was coming from. He had disrespected her, attacking her in the worse possible was. Any other god would have sentenced Jason to some other fate worse than death. Certainly worse than being turned into a cute woodland creature. He did this thing with his nose, looking up at her and Kaylin laughed a sad laugh. "I've never had... any kind of love... family love, romantic love," she said, as if explaining to the curious hunter behind her just what she saw in Jason. "He was the first person to ever feel something like that for me."

Kaylin returned her attention to the goddess. "You said that you require... a sacrifice," Kaylin repeated with a nod. She cleared her throat as it grew uneven again. "Will you accept it from me?" she asked quietly. "Will you... will you spare him if I join you?" Her voice was very quiet and distant.

Jason sat there in all his unmighty jackalopeness and was surprised when kayling knelt down near him, he saw her crying. he wanted to just tell her to go with them, at least they were worth something to this world, they at least could manage not to be controlled by their father into saying stuff they didnt mean. He just wanted to die, and when he saw skye laughing, he swore that he was going to give her a good hit upside the head if he ever was a human again. She had NO right to laugh whenever kaylin was devasted. He hated how she laughed finding something that broke a girls heart to pieces funny, especially his girls hear. Skye would know his opinion alright, and she may even find out the wrath of ares. No thats my father again he thought. He wont hit her, but he was going to share his opinion. Then kaylin asked if they would spare him if she joined them. He nearly died right at that moment from his emotions feeling like his heart was ripped open. but if that went through and he was turned human again, 1. skye would know his opinion still 2. jason would apolgize for his father to aretimis 3. he would ask the goddess if she knew how to get rid of his father's grip on his life. 4. he would wish kaylin well in life, and ask her if they could still be friends.

That moment shook my own decisions and made me rethink what I was about to do.
This was a situation that brought out the Hunter in any girl.
'Kaylin Everet, I formerly mark you as a Hunter in spirit. That you would sacrifice love and material items so that a loved one should live marks you as one of us. I do not accept that sacrifice, and I do not accept your offer of Eternal Maiden Hood. Love is in your heart, and love has brought you to these choices. You willingly would give up everything for Immortal life, and the Hunter's acknowledge that bravery. You are dedicated to this love.'
My voice was old, soft and full of wisdom that at this moment I was not sure I had.
But then looking down at the furry creature that had been Jason, I smiled.
'He won't remember the last few moments clearly Kaylin. It will be like a dream, making him tired, possibly disorientated. Shifting from one form to another is an odd experience. Please though, remind him he still needs to formerly apologize for his little rant. And also that if he insults me again, I will not be so forgiven. Nor will any other God/Goddess. Its up to you my dear to keep him in check,' I laughed slightly, and while my Hunter's looked on, shocked, I flicked my hand and stood.
Of course they were shocked. I never forgave insults as I had received tonight. And I hadn't forgiven them. I had simply given into a Maiden's need above my own hatred.
He shifted again, elongating, growing taller, shifting back into the form of a Human. Thank the Gods for the invention of clothes.

Jason looked around disoriented. He rembered being a little furry thing for a bit and looked at aretimis. It occurred to him what had happened. "Aretimis, I apologize for my rant it... It wasnt me. It was ares again. I ask you, do you know any way I can get rid of this curse? So my father may not control me?" He said. Then he turned to Skye instead of a long rant he simply growled out. "And you will NOT laugh at something that made somebody else's heart break. Your lucky I'm not like my brothers or sisters. They would kill you girl". He said. Both he and Skye knew he was referring to her laughing at him while kaylin cried. Jason turned back to aretimis "I am sorry about that, she laughed at me being a jackalope while kaylins heart was broke from it. I will not accept her doing that. To anybody. I warned her and that's where I stop. Now, about that chance of getting rid of my curse". He said

† 'A Hunter in Spirit,' she had said. That simple statement was an honor in it of itself. Kaylin was lost for words, momentarily stunned. For a moment, she could not believe those words came from the goddess, but after everything she witnessed, she decided that she could believe it. Artemis must have really understood and truly cared about her to rethink her decision and turn Jason back to normal after everything. Kaylin could not hold back the tears any more. She gently touched her fingertips to the hand that rested on her shoulder, offering a silent 'thank you.' She would not have been able to speak it through her sobs.

Her breath caught in her throat as she watched Jason shift from his animal form back to normal She hoped he would not remember much from his furry state, but he seemed to recall the events just fine. He focused on the memory of the Hunters laughing while Kaylin sat in despair. She became nervous with the way he addressed Skye. He was not even mad at the fact that she almost shot him with an arrow, he was angry that the Hunter laughed while Kaylin cried. There was not much Kaylin could do to prevent that anger from coming out, as she was still fighting back sobs when he spoke. Still, Kaylin was glad he was through insulting Artemis, especially since the goddess had tasked Kaylin with making sure he did not insult and anger any other gods or goddesses.

Still kneeling beside him, Kaylin reached out and took his hand in hers as if to tell him to calm down, as well as assure him that she was still there for him. She felt comfortable making the small gesture, despite their audience, though she did not go farther than that out of respect. She was just so happy to have him back to normal. She made a mental note to tribute a portion of her food to both her mother and Artemis from then on at camp. She also decided she would try harder at the archery ranges. She was marked a Hunter in spirit, and she was given back the most important person in her life. Words could not express the joy and relief she felt.

Jason calmed down and stood up and helped kaylin up with him. "Kaylin" was all he managed to get out before the tears came. Tears of joy. He thought he had lost her forever but here we was holding his hand, his human hand, and looking at him "I thought I had lost you forever. I can't believe it. Your mine again. I love you. More than anything or anybody ever will be capable of doing." He hugged her but then pulled back and just looked into her eyes. He turned towards Artemis and said "Thank you for not letting me die. I'm truly sorry for losing control to my father." He said. He glared at Skye. She did a very offense and universal gesture with her middle finger at him. He ignored it. "Kaylin. I promise this wont ever happen again". He said and rested his forehead against hers.

Without realizing, I smiled, and then glared at Skye.
'Skye, it would be wise for you to stop while you are ahead. Jason is no longer a Jackalope, and your death stares are no longer acceptable.'
My Hunter nodded, throwing one more look at Jason, and then running into the forest. Charlie stood to follow her, but I shook my head.
'After her past Charlie, today would be most difficult for her especially.'
She sat again, and smiled lightly.
Then I turned to the lovers. He reminded me of Shakespeare. Stupid man. Obsessed with love and plays. Apollo could have come up with a better one and... well Apollo said it all.
'I cannot release you of a curse. Immortal's cannot take away another Immortal's gift or punishment. It is against the Ancient Laws.'
I could have left it like that, and let the boy find out himself how to break what Ares had given him. But Ares and me had an old rivalry, and I didn't particularly like him.
'I can't take it away, but I can help you to overcome it. Love. Ares, in all of his flaws, holds love. And enough love can help you to block them thoughts. To quench them before you can act on them. And love... well you have love,' I looked from him to Kaylin, and nodded.
My Hunter's almost stood, wondering why I had helped most likely.
'Charlie, bring the rest of the Hunter's to the lake a few meters down. Relax, maybe set up Camp there,' she refused, not moving until I turned, 'now. That is where we are Camping, and that is where you will set up our home. Skye will find you there.'
One by one they stood and lifted their bags, walking into the dark foliage and leaving only a faint depression in the grass behind.

† Kaylin got to her feet with Jason's help and let out a soft sigh of relief. When Jason rested his forehead against hers, she chuckled softly and used her free hand to gently wipe away his tears. She then laced their fingers together. She could not help but feel a little embarrassed, knowing that the goddess and her Hunters were watching the two of them closely and critically. She ignored that fact and took a moment to just enjoy his presence before pulling away and facing the goddess again as she spoke. She did not want to offend with too many public displays of affections, but she kept a hold of Jason's hand, afraid that she may lose him again if she let ago.

Her smile faltered a bit listening to Artemis explain that there was nothing she could do about Jason's curse. Hope returned when she explained a way Jason could control it himself. Through love, something he already had. When Artemis said that, Kaylin smiled and turned to Jason momentarily, gently squeezing his hand reassuringly. "Thank you for everything, Lady Artemis," Kaylin said after listening to the goddess order her Hunters away to set up camp somewhere in the park. She had a feeling that once they parted, she would not see the goddess for a very long time. The thought made her sad, but she was glad that she was going to be returning to Camp Half-Blood with Jason. It felt right.

"Alright, it will be done. I won't be like this anymore". Jason said as he watched them walk off. He turned to kaylin. "It's up to you, want to finish the day out here or head back to camp?" He said to her. He was looking at her. The hunters were leaving. Right now in his world it was only him and kaylin. He could just stand there holding hands and being with her all day. This is what love is like then. He was absolutely crazy for this girl

† The date had been a nice one. She got to see Central Park, though she could have done without the monsters and near death experiences and all that. She scanned Jason's facial features, taking in every detail, giving his hands a gentle and reassuring squeeze. The relief she felt was overwhelming, and she wanted nothing more than to go back to Camp Half-Blood with him. That was their home, and she knew that there he would be safe from any more harm, at least for today. "Let's go home," she decided with a slight smile and a small nod.

Jason looks at kaylin. "That works." He says as they walk back towards the vans that had given them a ride here, Jason let go of kaylin's hand instead put his arm around her as they walked, hoping that she would enjoy it. He enjoyed just being around this girl. I made him have butterflies in his stomach just hearing her talk to him.

† Kaylin's smile faltered a bit when Jason let go of her hand, but she complied and let her arm fall to her side stretching her fingers out. It felt like she had been holding on to him pretty tightly. It just all felt so surreal that she was afraid he might float away if she didn't. The smile returned when he put his arm around her. She even leaned into him a bit in response. She felt safer that way for some reason as they walked back to the van. She thought of what she had said to him. "Let's go home." Camp Half-Blood had never really felt like a home, but perhaps it would now that she had him.

Whenever the two climbed into the van, Jason wrapped his free arm around kaylin's stomach, knowing that she probably wanted to try to snuggle a bit on the ride home. "Hey kaylin, do you want to take a short walk along the beach with me once we are back in camp?" Jason asked her, he kissed her on the cheek and smilied at her. He wasnt sure when the right time to say it was, but he loved this girl so much. It was ridiculous. But he didnt mind at all. She was his girlfriend that is all that mattered to him.

† The thought of taking a walk on the beach with Jason brought a smile to her face. "That sounds... nice," she assured with a nod. "I would love that," she concluded, leaning into him and resting her head against his shoulder. Little gestures like that seemed to come naturally. Normally, she would question herself and make no move in an attempt to stray from making the wrong one, but being with him seemed so natural. She was so comfortable around him.

Jason smilied whenever kaylin said yes she would take a walk with him. That is great. Just him and her, it was getting dark out too. So they would be walking at sunset. Jason smilied even more whenever kaylin layed her head on his shoulder. They arrived back at camp and were let out of the van. . OOC: alright, I will make the thread for the beach later today
