In the clearing... {Anyone Can Join}

Preset: In the forest, in a circular clearing with a few birch trees but mostly oak.

Neth was just walking into the forest from strawberry feilds, he wasn't sure what to expect. He'd only been here a day. Anything could happen. Plus he loves plants and hasnt seen the forest yet... he touched the soft birch bark and turned around to see someone entering the clearing... I'm never alone huh...? Well. I guess at an overcrouded camp filled with superhumans you can't be alone.

Meira walked into the small clearing in the forest, clearly enjoying the view. She was a daughter of Demeter, and she surely would enjoy this kind of sight. She smiled, getting jumpy. But for a half-blood, she knew a paradise could turn to a battlefield. Meira readied her plants, but hoping she wouldn't need them.

Meira saw a boy, about of his age, clearly unfamiliar. She pursed her lips, and skipped beside him. "Hello!" she greeted, grinning. "Enjoying the view?" she added.

Daughter of Phobos

Perched on one of the branches of the thick oak trees around the clearing, Justine settled on polishing her one of her swords. The celestial bronze blade gleamed in the little sunlight filtered through the leaves. She rubbed the blade with a white rag, rubbing until it was sparkly clean. As to why she was cleaning her weapons in the middle of a forest with monsters, Justine wasn't really sure. For all she knew a hellhound could pop up in the middle of nowhere and she'd run it through with her swords, getting them dirty again in the process. Justine sighed at the bizarre thought.

The sound of someone walking grabbed her attention and she looked down, expecting to see a monster of some sort. A boy walked right under the tree she was in, making no effort to muffle his footsteps. Was he planning to attract some monsters with that noise? Justine frowned, studying him with her blue eyes. She didn't recognize him one bit. Maybe he was new..? If he was, then he might not know about the monsters yet. Before she knew it, a girl came into view, starting a conversation with the boy. Maybe she would know about monsters, but Justine wasn't sure of that. Perhaps it would be best to warn them?

"Be careful. There are monsters in here," Justine called, just loud enough for them to hear. She didn't even look at them as she continued to polish her sword. It was up to the demigods if they was going to heed her advice or not.

Nethaniel looked at Marie quizzically.
"Yeah. I really enjoy nature. It's so beautiful. Mostly the plants." Right then nethaniel made a blade of grass sprout into a four feet tall birch sapling.
"I like the birches... The white is... Hypnotizing...? I don't know. I just love it!"
But when he heard someone call 'Watch out for the monsters.' He turned towards the sound and made the whole entire tree ripple. All the leaves fell off and he encased the speaker in wood making sure to grab the wrist so she couldnt slash herself free.

Meira was stunned, as her arm got encased by branches. Being the daughter of Demeter, she snapped her fingers, and branches came out. The guy just stood, making the trees around quiver.

"New sibling!" Meira exclaimed, clearly delighted, forgetting the action. Wow, she thought. He's powerful.

What the--?

It all happened too fast. Justine felt the branch shake and she had to clung on for dear life. She vaguely registered someone gripping her wrist as the wood began to encase her. Anger washed over her and she could practically feel her blood boiling. What did she do to deserve this? She was just warning the kids about the monsters! Why did the tree want to swallow her up all of a sudden?

Justine held her other sword in her free hand, since one of her wrists was apparently trapped. In a swift downward motion she slashed some of the wood off. Justine then implanted an image of what the boy feared most in his head. She wouldn't do this in normal circumstances, but his stunt made her furious. She focused on letting the boy see his worst fear, hoping to scare him out of his mind.

(OOC: he did this as a reflex and only encased your arm... not your head...)
When Neth heard Marie shout 'New sibling!' He was- of course- stunned. But when he turned and looked into Justines eyes he could feel her reaching into her thoughts. She was manipulating his mind somehow... But it ultimately failed. She probably didnt get the message through...
(OOC AGAIN: Neth has... No fears. He lost everything... [Note: he hasnt met his sister so when she comes up you can use that little trick :D])

Meira's head turned sharply to the girl, a little nervous as she stumbled. She blinked, and the girl was glaring at the guy. Instantly, Meira knew this was a teeny tiny trouble. As teeny tiny as a huge one.

Meira stood up abruptly. "Whoa, whoa, easy guys, easy!" she stuttered. She put one hand on the guy's shoulder, and kind of pulled him back. "It's okay, she didn't mean any harm." She looked at the girl desperately. "I'm right, right?"

Meira's words were coming out in a stumble. Her heart was thrumming.

Nethaniel made the wood sink into the ground leaving Justine to whatever she felt like doing.
"Sorry I guess. And Meira... Right? Uhhh. Why are you scared? Your a daughter of Demeter in a forest. I'm still unclaimed."

Justine was about to slice the rest of the wood off when it got pulled back to the ground. She gave the two demigods a glance each before sheathing both her swords and let them hang on each side of her waist. Her blood was still boiling at the stunt the boy pulled, and she didn't care what his intentions were. Justine believed that he had no right to do that.

She glanced at the girl, seemingly trying to calm the situation down. She didn't harbor any ill feelings for her, but for the boy it was another story. She threw the boy a look of extreme loathing before walking into the deeper parts of the forest. She wasn't going to stick around with people who suddenly attacked her when she meant no harm. And she certainly wasn't going to give him an earful of her thoughts either. Justine had always been the silent-type of person even if she was mad. She disappeared into the forest, not planning to look back.

Meira sighed as the guy calmed down. She sat, making the thorn plants disappear. Part of her was amazed at the guy. She was obviously her half-brother, the way he manipulated the plants... or maybe she was wrong. He could be Dionysus', too.

Another part of her wondered, How did he know me? My mother? Her head inclined, but let it go.

"Yeah. Meira. Meira Sanzenin, daughter of Demeter," she easily replied, plopping down again. "I guess you could say that I'm not of a violent kind. Get scared easily." She smiled at him. "You?"

Then she remembered the girl. She was vaguely familiar. She's a powerful one, Meira thought. "Hey, are you okay?" she called. Suddenly the girl walked away. "Hello?" she called again, a little louder. She turned warily at the guy. "I think we should go follow her."

'Why?" Nethaniel spat.
"She can't be worth it. I mean, come on. Follow her and start another fight?" Neth looked Meira in the eyes.
"Sis. No. That's not good for even people who ARE looking for a fight."

Meira held up her hands in the gesture of 'Okay, okay!' She shook her head. Her sibling is a little... moody. Meira didn't know what to do. The words just came tumbling out of her.

"I mean, follow her for an apology," Meira explained. "Yeah, for an apology. Say sorry, bro! She didn't meant any harm." She looked around uneasily, hoping the guy wouldn't get angry to her, too. Her palms tingled.

Again Nethaniel just stared at her. Apologize? OK so maybe it was the right thing to do but If she was going to walk off rude-ly he was going to drop it.
"Nah. I'm going back to the lake... It's crazy here."

Conrad was scrutinizing a tree's bark a little into the forest and was trying to replicate the scene in his mind. I'm sure a snake was here, and it probably slithered up to attack someone. No, some demigod. There were obvious slash marks on the bark, made by celestial bronze, after the camper jumped down onto the grass and defended against the snake. Why a snake? Well, he had observed various tiny holes in the trunk of the tree, which oozed liquid and burned. Of course, Conrad was not as dumb as to put his finger on it. He had used a leaf, where the venom had promptly ate into the edge like acid on metal.

He had noticed a commotion amongst a group of 3 demigods as well as a change in nature just outside the boundary of the forest. Several changes in fact, Conrad could sense it. Demeter abilities at work, most probably, he thought, paying no attention to it.

Until he felt an angry mind approach, and seconds later, a rather pissed off girl stalk into the woods. Her face held little expression, but he could feel her fury. He also knew at once that she was a daughter of Phobos. Not Deimos, but Phobos. They had a distinct difference he was sure rarely people could find.

He had a choice to either stay where he was, or step out from behind the tree. He chose the latter. "Trouble with Demeter kids?" He asked, lips half lifted into a smile, that held no expression but polite concern.

Meira looked sick. "Okay," she mumbled, a little offended. She pursed her lips, then looked at the sky. There was only a small circle left to view the clouds, as the trees obscured it.

"Before you leave," Meira started. "You never introduced yourself. What's your name?" she asked, interested. I hope mother would claim him. He's... powerful. Training and he's all good.

Then Meira got all alert. "Someone's ... around," she said at last, her eyes darting from side to side. A thorn plant sprouted in her side.

"Hey. Sorry for calling you off but its not normal. And my name is Nethaniel." he retorted.
"Wait! Your right! i sensed someone toutch a tree in that direction" he sad pointing.
"Its not that other girl."

Justine barely made it a few steps when a boy stepped out from behind a tree. Startled, she took a small step behind her but realized quickly that the boy meant no harm. She raised her eyebrows at his question. How did he know? Maybe he saw it from a distance. Or heard the slashing of the wood and some rustling leaves.

"Just one," Justine said simply in her old emotionless voice. She didn't want to elaborate. Besides, why would it be the boy's business anyway? She took a good hard look at his face. She had seen him around before--a son of Athena, she remembered. Well it looked like she didn't need to explain now. The boy was smart. He'd figure it out without her help.

Before anything else can happen, the sound of growling ripped the air. Justine tensed, knowing what was about to come. All the noise must have attracted them. And she was right. For what burst forth from the trees were two fully-grown hellhounds, baring their fangs at the demigods.

Oh crud.

Two arrows flew threw the air and entered the heads of each hound before they could rip open Justine's chest. Both hounds fell dead on the ground.
"Your welcome." Angel walked by casually as if she had just put on a backpack and got ready for school. out of the corner of her eye she noticed something and turned.
"Oh so we have a newcomer?" Angel stared at Neth.

"Uhhh... Yeah..." Neth remarked. Unable to comprehend why this little kid acted like she owned the place. "I got here yesterday..."

"Ah. I see. Well I'm Angel. I'm 13, lived here for 11 years. Nice to meet you and Welcome to Camp Half-Blood." Angel said nicely and then started walking off again.

Meira watched in facination as the a new girl, obviously a daughter of Apollo with her arrows, ran along in action, passing the clearing, then shot the wild hounds, disintegrating them. She was about to clap at the girl's talent, when two more hounds appeared. Meira stumbled back, but dodged the attack.

Meira watched in horror as the other hellhound go for Nethaniel, her she-though her sibling.

"Nethaniel!" she yelled. She made thorn plants grow around her, and they shoot their thorns to the first hell hound.

Neth will be all right, she thought. He's strong.

The two hellhounds turned into dust, but that wasn't the end of it as two more took their places. Justine then lunged for the one that seemed to strike first at the boy she was furious at. She unsheathed her twin blades and jumped, spinning the swords in an arc. She struck the hellhound at the weak spots on its neck and the beast disintegrated from both the thorns hitting its hide and the celestial bronze hitting its neck.

"You're welcome," Justine said in practically the same way the archer did earlier. She rolled out of the way just in time as the other hellhound pounced, missing her by inches. This is getting too troublesome, she thought roughly as she pushed herself on to her feet, slowly backing away to the deeper part of the forest.

Meira turned the aim of thorns to the next hell hound. She swallowed, clearly not used to fighting. She ran to the nearest tree, and jumped up, not wanting to dodge here an there. On the lowest branch she perched, holding out her hand. Meira concentrated, and the thorns went straight for the hound. Meira was doubtful, as she might hit the girl.

"Let me not fail, Mom," she muttered to Demeter, now sweating. One thorn ricocheted to the girl, and Meira held out her other hand to stop it.

Double trouble, she thought nervously.

Angel just sat there with an amused look on her face. She wanted to see who could do what. She already knew Conrad. She wanted to see what the new kid could do- she liked seeing first battles. She watched and observed more closely then you could expect. The Demeter girl liked using thorns and she was more defense than offense. Justine liked using her twin blades to scare or warn off then run at the first chance she got. Conrad hadn't started fighting yet.
Neth watched as Meira shot thorns at the hound. He concentrated on the thorns while they were flying thru the air. He influenced them to move faster until they connected with the hound and a sickening crunch! he took out his blade, gleaming in the sunlight, and he brought it down. It met it's mark. The head of the hound turned into golden dust while the rest slowly dissolved into the same substance.

Conrad stood, eyes narrowed, watching the hellhounds attack. The reason why none had attacked him yet, was that he told them not to. And none did. Don't get mistaken, he was not the one who led them to attack. They just seemed to have a sub-conscious message to avoid his direction whenever they neared, from him of course.

He saw the events unfold around him, but nobody was in any danger, and each was capable of defending themself. But what he was wondering was why there were so many hellhounds so near the camp. He could sense three more coming from the opposite direction of the initial attack, probably going to take them by surprise. He did not know how many more were coming, since they seemed to be shadow-traveling their way here. He could only feel those that were currently existing at their location, not between shadow routes. "Dang it," he muttered.

I really should warn them, he thought, just as two more hellhounds burst through the thickets behind them. Watch out, behind you! Conrad sent mentally to each demigod, since it would be futile shouting due to the chaos in the fighting.
