ray felt distraught as she stood in the archery field holding a bow at her hip. her eyes trailed far along the field all the way to the target. she bit her lip while studying the target and where it had landed. how her shot with an arrow suddenly became so much clearer and precise, she didn't know. and that was only the first shot she had taken those few minutes of being in the range. Taking another few shots they hit the the target dead on center. "of all days, i'm lucky on this one, mother?" she muttered under her breath with a crooked smile. after that she notched yet another arrow into the bow, took in a soft breath, aimed, and let it go.

the summer evening was cloudless and ray was alone on the range by the arena. while almost every other camper was trotting around enjoying the summer carnival or whatever it was, ray was just training, as she always did. she couldn't care any less about the false impression the camp was giving on the campers of peace and normality. everything wasn't fine. they were still basically in an all out war. ray was going to be ready for it, whenever it happened.

shot after shot flew through the arrow and though every one did not make the center of the target, they weren't far off. ray knew that tomorrow if she were to come back she would miss almost every arrow she would shoot, but she cherished the practice for the time being. she liked the peace and quiet she had, without any interruptions or annoying campers anywhere.

Seth Marcus Motega; son of Apollo, god of the sun

He just wanted to shoot arrows. That's all Seth just wanted to do today. He was almost 18 and considering that he planned on leaving camp to fill full the life he was going to have as a demigod, Seth needed practice. And lots of it. It wasn't that Seth was bad at fighting, he had just been lazy the past month. Scratch that, the past year. He really had to started making new improvements if he wanted to live.

He walked into the archery, hearing someone else shooting arrows. Seth stayed quiet and watched the girl shoot arrow after arrow, not a lot of them hitting the target. When the girl shot another arrow that was so close to the black dot in the center of the target, Seth let out a laugh without meaning it. He wasn't a bad guy, that was just Seth.

"If you want to hit the target just relax and don't pretend it's your ex boyfriend you want to kill," Seth joked, grabbing and arrow to show this girl who was boss around her. With a loud snap, Seth shot the arrow. But, it didn't hit the black dot. In fact it didn't hit the target at all. Frowning, Seth put his hand up. "Wait," he said, grabbing another arrow from the side. This time it hit the target. Seth smiled proudly and turned to the girl.

ray jumped slightly at the sound of the boy coming up beside her. great, she thought. just what she didn't want to have happen. she didn't want the company let alone from a boy who instantly decides to try and give her lessons on shooting an arrow. he was cocky and that was just something that made her almost hate him already. as many times as she has been told that 'hate' was a strong word, she didn't pay much attention and used the definite carelessly and very often.

it was peculiar. she looked at her target, and how almost every single arrow made the center area. what was he talking about? she was shooting fine. she watched with a raised eyebrow as he missed his first shot, which actually made her laugh and roll her eyes. he seemed skilled though, as she watched his next arrow soar and strike the target dead center. It wasn't anything special by her standards and she just puffed a bit of air, blowing her bangs out of her face.

"rather shoot that ex than the target," she muttered, probably barely audible by the boy next to her. she looked at the kid in front of her, recognizing him from cabin 7. no wonder, he's like all of his other charming and cocky siblings. she rolled her eyes even at her own sarcastic thought. deciding to speak again, she raised her voice a little louder. "better start listening to your own advice. there's not always time for a second shot."

ooc: i feel like poop ! im sorry it took so long to reply, long week :(

Seth laughed at what the girl said. Pushing down his sock, Seth revealed his dagger. "And that is why Miss I carry another weapon with me always." Pulling up his sock, Seth winked at the girl. "Plus I rarely miss." Seth knew he was being way too cocky right now, but he thought it was funny. He always loved to have fun with his friends or people he had just met.

Pulling the arrow back, Seth hit another bulls eye far away. Now, he was trying to practice. Seth couldn't remember the last time he had stepped into the area or archery field. Everything had been good for Seth for a while and then everything got really bad and he had no idea why. Maybe the gods just liked messing with Seth.

Before he could get any further into his thoughts, Seth turned back to the girl, smiling a bit. "I'm Seth by the way, son of Apollo. As if you couldn't tell!" Seth joked, the mischievous gleam in his eyes never going away. Putting another arrow on his bow, Seth said, "Kidding though, I'm not that shallow like the rest of my siblings. I'm more like a Hermes kid than Apollo."That part was true though. From all the pranks and stealing and other things, Seth was pretty sure his dad was really Hermes and not Apollo at all.

instinctively, ray ran a hand down her left leg, checking her dagger was still strapped in its place. she'd lost it on more than one occasion, which really wasn't something she enjoyed doing. it was a relief to find the weapon still where she always kept it. to some it might be obvious when you lose a weapon, especially because recently all's ray sported was shorts and her camp tee, but she was just unlucky in that way sometimes. luck was a tricky thing to her. sometimes she really didn't believe in any of that sort of thing, but given who her mother was, she sort of has to.

raya just rolled her eyes at the boy and his fetal attempt at explaining to her that he wasn't as shallow as he really seemed. then he droned about being like a Hermes kid. she could see that side of him as well peaking through, though, so she didn't doubt what people, and the boy, Seth, might have thought. he didn't have the appearance to be apart of cabin eleven, that's what set him apart. blonde hair, bright eyes.

flicking her eyes over to him once again before locking them on the target, ray spoke up. "Ray." she pulled back an arrow. "my mother is Tyche." she let the arrow soar and this time only missing the center by the next ring. for second she thought of cabin 2 and how crowded it was. she wondered what it was like to have a cabin dedicated entirely to your own parent. "I guess that's some dilemma you got there though. must confuse a lot of people" this she sort of said sarcastically. maybe he would take it personally, maybe not.

Seth rolled his eyes at Ray. "Yeah totally. Not like my blonde hair makes me stick out or anything," Seth commented, taking out his dagger. In one quick shot, Seth threw his dagger at the target, hitting it right in the middle.

"That's a new record," Seth said to Ray, feeling pretty lucky himself. Seth knew his dagger would return to him in a few seconds. That always came lucky in battle. Seth doubted that Ray never lost a battle.

"Have you ever won a lottery ticket? I mean, your mom is the goddess of luck," Seth said, being part serious and part teasing Ray.
