The son of Hephaestus was normally particularly good with handling heat; being around the fire-filled forges a lot and being brought up in a hot area made Asher adapt to it more, so for his to have a gleam of sweat across his brow did indeed mean that it was hot out today. The sweat was covered by Ash's uneven swish of blonde hair though, yet he knew it was there. What probably didn't help was the fact that he was out in the scorching sun in the middle of the day, walking across the busy beach and bumping into other sweaty people as he did so. But it didn't stop Asher from taking a walk, feeling a little overdressed in his shorts and rugby shirt compared to those around his that were either in swimming-trunks, bikinis or the embarrassing few they were skipping around in Speedos. Asher couldn't help but cringe at those few.

His blue eyes scanning the mass to find one of his siblings or friends to drift towards, Asher gave up after a moment and decided to just perch down on the sand where he was standing, finding himself in between a large group and few individuals although not really making the point to pay attention to them much at first. He just let out a large sigh that erupted deep from inside his broad chest, finding himself looking around for moment and trailing shapes into the sand with his forefinger. Turning his head slightly, he didn't look at the person besides him as he addressed them, too distracted for the moment, "Hey, do you have the time?"

Cambley had been going to the beach with her friends just about every day of the summer, and her tan was only finally starting to show though. Her one bandou bikini was getting more use on the Athena girl than it would if it belonged to anyone else, probably in all of camp, even out of the Poseidon kids. There was something Cambley loved about northern beaches—they reminded her of her merchant smuggling days. It was a pleasant memory. This day, though, happened to be one of the hottest days of the summer, and everyone was sweating buckets. Cambley didn't really mind, but her friends wouldn't stop complaining.

The blonde boy's question saved Cambley from an ongoing debate about which foundation was holding up better in the heat, and for that, the daughter of Athena was grateful. "Time for you to get a watch," one of her flirty Aphrodite friends giggled. She was painfully into the boy, which only made Cambley smirk to herself. "Savannah, that joke is way overdone." The daughter of Athena shook her head and smiled, although she was pretty annoyed with the bad flirting her thirsty friends were attempting. "Time for you to meet me," "Time for us to get out of here," etc. While they threw lame pickup lines at the unsuspecting boy, Cambley lifted her phone and clicked it on. "The actual time's 1:45, sorry about them," she whipsered with a shrug. As her friends began bickering, Cambley sat down, wanting any excuse to get away from her currently annoying group of friends.

The boys were trying to regain the attention of the girls again, and of course it was working. They didn't even notice that Cambley was gone. "My friends can be... extremely intolerable sometimes." The girl sighed loudly and smiled. "I think the heat makes them go crazy."

His mouth and eyes widening even so slightly as he was surprised by the reaction a simple question gained, he couldn't stop his lips curling to the side a little when he thought he was being flirted with, although he was only taking it as a joke; it was hot, and the girls looked like the type of girls that would just play this game to anyone passing who was half decent-looking. "Yeah, Savannah, it is a little overdone." he agreed with the auburn-haired girl, his tone slightly mocking and teasing although he would never mean any harm to anyone. Although Ash was then bombarded with more and more attempts at flirting, and he couldn't help but just lean back and listen to it all, yet he couldn't help but become grateful when the girl actually offered him the real time. "Ha, thanks." He nodded, watching the group leave before cocking his head across at the girl that took a seat besides him from beneath his tangle of blonde hair.

Chuckling a little so that Asher's adam's apple bobbed up and down quickly, he nodded once more, "Yeah, don't worry about it; I'm used to receiving attention from the opposite sex." he joked, not sure if it was true or not but not being able to stop his arrogance, "Yeah, I guess. The heat makes anyone go crazy after a while. I'm Asher, and you?" He watched the girl, running his fingers through the sand beneath him.

cambley blushed a little at the boy before biting her lip and grinning. she wasn't easily overlooked, but still, the fact that he was acknowledging her made her smile and blush. her friends noticed and tried even harder to throw themselves at the boy, which was sad but humorous all at the same time. "gods, savannah, yes he said your name. no you're not dreaming. what is wrong with you, you have a boyfriend." cambley was laughing at savannah, despite how embarrassed she was. she was out of her element, and not very good at competing for attention. she was, however, good at actually conversing with people and not trying to woo them, so after sitting, cambley was glad the boy chose to respond.

"oh, i bet," cambley mused, her tone dripping with both sarcasim and sincerity, and her facial expressions slightly confused. she didn't know whether or not she liked the idea of a bunch of girls throwing themselves at asher, but she also wasn't the type to fall hard and fast. "who can resist a good blond?" rolling her eyes but chucklign back, cambley pat asher's leg. "cambley, but cam works, too. i'm flexible." and with that the daughter of athena winked, and she realized she was flirting like an overly sex driven teenager and she had to shake it off before smiling to herself.

There was a part of Asher that was undeniably up his own arse, if you will; he could sometimes think he was the best thing since sliced bread and that he was practically undefeatable, even though this wasn't entirely the case. He smirked at all the attention he was getting - and many who didn't know him well enough would probably think he was arrogant enough to expect and be used to this - although that wasn't really the case; no matter how highly he thought himself to be, he would never really expect anything like this. It was sort of out of this world, so he just watched the scene unfold from his seat on the ground, his mouth open slightly out of surprise and his head cocked back to look up at the attractive girls, his adam's apple very pronounced due to the craining of his neck. "Come on, Savannah, it's not attractive for girls to flirt with other guys. That's not very good. Shame on you."

Shrugging slightly and running his fingers across his messy blonde locks, Asher focused on the pretty girl besides him and couldn't stop himself laughing in that deep, husky voice of his that normally set him out to the others, "No one can resists the blondes. No one." he looked across at the water, glad to have some company instead of being on his own, yet looked back over at cambley with his brilliant gaze once he felt her hand on his leg. He raised an eyebrow as he realized she was flirting with him just like the other girls had, but it seemed a little less awkward with Cam, seeing as he wasn't taken by surprise. "You're flexible? I'll keep that in mind." He muttered quietly and devilishly, not sure whether she would be able to hear him or get what he was implying, which was completely light-hearted, "Nice to meet you, Cam. I recognise you, actually. We've probably met before."
