| Jack Che I walked through the corn maze, searching for my golem. You know what a golem is? A 10 foot tall clay monster that doesn't seem to leave a trail even though it weighs 2000 pounds. It was getting dark and I was getting worried. What would it do if someone found it? I could hear other campers in the maze and started going in the opposite direction. My golem wasn't too fond of people. Just then, I turned the corner and heard a noise. It was a small noise, almost invisible. I flattened myself in a corner, my balck clothes camouflaging me as I sat and waited. | |

I ran through the maze, looking for one of my older sisters from my cabin who brought me to the corn maze. I turned around for a second and she was gone. It probably wasn't her fault though. She must have thought I was paying attention. The Demeter kids did a good job on the maze this year. I had no idea where I was going and, everywhere I turned there was just more corn. My anxiety to get out of the maze was growing because I wasn't hearing as much laughter as I was earlier. It must have been getting late.
I ran and turned left, then left again. I turned left one last time and it became evident that I wasn't going anywhere but in a circle. I shook out my sweaty palms and began to try to escape again. I put my right hand out to touch the right side of the maze. I thought I heard that doing that would lead you out of a maze most of the time. Or was it the left hand? I didn't know. I just kept running until I almost bumped into a boy wearing all black. Maybe he'd know how to get out."H-hi. Are you lost too, or is it just me.?" | |
