The lightning all around me

Brett walks along the edge of the ocean. The water gently rolling over her feet. It was a good feeling, it made her feel relaxed. She smiles lightly and pulls her long brown hair into a low ponytail. She looks around and smiles widely.

Brett countines to walk for a ways before she gets tired of walking. Then she sits down in the sand. The water is able to still roll over her feet. She smiles lightly as she lays back in the sand. Brett reaches into her pocket and pulls out a pair of sunglasses and puts them on her face.

The shame

Ever walked along the beach, letting the waves lap up against her bare feet. It was a warm day out, and the sun was beating down, so ever make sure to freeze the water that trailed her feet. She held her flip flops in her had, because she always hated the feeling of sand in her shoes.
Eventually, Ever saw what looked to be a girl laying out on the beach, and decided to go over. She wasn't one to make friends, but meeting new people always proved to be entertaining. Letting her silent feet carry her closer, Ever sat down in the sand a few feet away. She focused her attention on the water, waiting for the girl to get a nice surprise.

Brett shrieks as the water suddenly starts to get a lot colder. She quickly pulls her feet out of the water. She tries them in the sand and looks around for the source of the cold water. She sees a girl, but she doubts it was her.

Still Brett thought the girl might make a good friend or something. She smiles widely and looks at her again. "Hi I'm Brett!"she says to the girl.

Ever laughed as the girl shreiked, because she was the cause of it. Luckily it wasn't that cold out, so she didn't have to worry about loosing one of her toes. She was suprised that the girl had spoken to her, but hey, YOLO.
Hello, there. I'm Ever," Ever said, standing up and brushing the sand off of herself. She allowed a small smile to creep upon her face, but it wasn't very big. She hardly knew this girl, why waste a full smile? "I heard you shrieking, you alright?"

Brett blinks and rubs the side of her head. She was still confused of how the water was able to suddenly be freezing cold. "I'm Brett Rider"she says softly. "Don not even think about making fun of my name"she adds. She then looks at the girl, smiling lightly. "It's just that the water suddenly turned freezing cold"she says to the girl.

"The water turned cold? That's weird, considering how hot it is out here. She had to hold in the laugh that was pressing to escape, but she wasn't going to let it out. She took her long black hair streaked with blue in both her hands, and brought it down like a curtain over her left shoulder. Rocking back and forth on her heels, Ever stuck her hands into her pockets. At least the sand isn't cold." Ever allowed herself a small chuckle, hoping Brett would join in.
