| "... Central Park was originally built in 1858, and that makes it over one hundred years old," said the Camp Satyr, to the awe of the young campers. It was outing day, when all the Campers under seven got to go out and explore. The little kids all listened hard with their ears, or, in some cases, ear. All except J.J..
Because he had seen a squirrel. At Camp, the squirrels were all in the forest, an area that J.J. had had a fear of, ever since he got lost in there. So, off he went, running after it, into the trees, pet mouse on his shoulder. Behind him, the Satyr kept on droning on, and didn't notice that one of the ADHD kids had run off. Neither had the other kids - they, having been at Camp longer, were much better at listening to the long descriptions of their outing day guide. So, when they started to trudge through the Autumn leaves to their first sight, J.J. was left behind.
J.J. chased the squirrel until it ran up a tree, when he and his mouse fell into the piled leaves, laughing. They threw the leaves in the air, until they got bored, and at that point they walked back to the gates. But, as you know, they weren't there. So Jimmy called out a few times, to no response. Sad, he sat under the awning of a waffle stall called 'Zellwaffle's Waffles', and J.J. cried. |
