Charity|Lessard

Charity grabbed a basketball from a bin and started to dribble around on one of the courts. She went for a lay-up and missed. She had tried out for the basketball team at her old school but, she was too short. She could never make the team. Charity thought it would be pretty cool if she could do a slam dunk. So, she started to dribble then she picked up some speed and leaped. Her hands slapped against the cold, metal ring. She dropped to the ground with a clap like sound. There was the slick tap of shoes hitting the ground approaching her from behind.

I picked up a basketball with some trouble and bounced it behind a tall girl. I looked up all the way to her head to see she was alot bigger then me. I took the basket ball and jumped up throwing the ball as best as I could. I watched as it failed miserbly and just bounced away. I retrived it and put it on the floor sitting on it.

Charity saw a little boy trying to shoot a basketball. It was kind of cute. She decided to walk over. "Hey, little man. What's your name?" She said enthusiasticly. She loved little children. Some just annoyed the heck out of her though. But this little guy was cute. He had short brown ahir and big brown eyes. Charity knelt down to his height. "You wanna play some one on one, little guy?"

"My names Timmy T-I-M-M-Y." I exclaimed with a smile. "whats yours?" I asked standing up. "im taller then you" I exclaimed happily. "YES!! I exclaimed excidingly. but dont be a soar looser please?" I said with determination and happiness in my voice.

"Okay. Come on. Let's play Timmy." Charity walked over to the court she had been shooting on. She couldn't here footsteps behind her. She looked over her shoulder to see Timmy still standing where he was before. "Timmy, what's wrong?"

"huh. oh nothing." I replyed following her to the court. "you can start with the ball." I said niciley getting ready for a fun game of basketball.

"Okay." Charity dribbled the ball in one place for a moment before turning around and running for the net. She happened to trip on her shoelace, falling flat on her face. "Stupid, stupid, stupid!" She yelled at herself mentally. Charity picked herself up and wiped some dirt off her hands, onto her soccer shorts. "Come on, Timmy. Bring it!" She laughed then continued running with the ball.

I ran after her being very fast, considering im short. I ran and hit the ball lightly while she was dribiling it. I ran after it, grabbed it, and dribbled it to the net. I quickly took a shot....And it missed.

Charityy smiled. She got the rebound. "1-0 Me." She thought. I
She let Kyle get the ball. He was a cute little guy. Charity wanted to ruffle his hair for some reason.

I grabbed the ball quickly and ran torawds the basket. I jumped as high as I could and shot... But missed horribly. I ran after it and shot but still missed. I ran after it 1 more time and shot....then missed. I sat down on the court and sighed sadly.

Charity walked over to Timmy and sat down. Mocking him. "Mad bro?" She said quickly. It was something she had just started doing. It was kind of her thing now.

I wiped a small tear from my eye and looked at her. "why would I be mad?" I asked looking at her. "I'm sad because I cant make it in the basket" I said putting my face in my arms to prevent the tears.

"Don't be sad. And saying mad bro is kinda my thing. I just say it whenever I see someone showing lots of emotion or stomping off kinda thing. Anyway, don't be sad. It takes practice little man." Charity put her hand on his shoulder and gave a encouraging smile.

I quickly got up and jumped as high as I could finally making it. "yay I made it" I said with a huge grin. "1-0" I said not loosing my grin.

"Yeah, 1-0 Timmy." Charity gave a smile then went for the ball. She shot a 3 point-er and got it in. "Yes!" She cheered. "And the crowd goes wild. Huuuuh! Huuuuuh!"

I looked around for the sourse of the noice. "wheres that noise coming from?" I asked spinning around fast then landing on the floor from dissyness.

"What noise?" Charity's head turned quickly to her left. A bit to quickly. She could feel a burning sensation in the back of her neck. She placed her hand there and rubbed it. "Whiplash...."She mumbled.

I stared up at the spinning sky and stayed like thst for a few minutes before getting on my knees and staring up at her. "I guess it was other campers doing somthing,"" I admitted quitly. I stood up and regend my balance.

"Okay?" Charity back up a little and let Timmy get the ball. What noise? she thought. Maybe Timmy had just been hearing things but, he looked pretty scared.

I dribbled the ball and shot just barely missing. I ran for the rebound but it bounced away. "I guess you can have it." I said not wanting to go after it.

Charity ran towards the ball only to hit in the head by another. She turned around to see a couple of boys playing "around the world". She glared at them and said "Watch your ball idiots!" Before rubbing her head. She dribbled it back over to Timmy and shot. The ball circled the rim just before bouncing out. "Crap!" She stomped one foot.

"oooooh you said a bad word." I said laughing and grabbing the ball, dribbiling it and shooting it making it by luck.

"Crap is not a bad word Timmy" Charity smiled despite the pounding headache she had. She retrieved the ball and walked back over to Timmy. "You can shoot" She says before tossing him the ball.

I threw the ball straight up. I waited for a minute before the ball landed on my head, knocking me on to my butt. I rubbed my head but stayed sitting.

"Oh my gods! Timmy are you alright?" Charity had one hand over her mouth. She grabbed the ball before it started rolling away. "You chould go get a Tylenol, Timmy..."
