| KYNA ROCHELLE MADLEYAfter three years in Camp, you'd think Kyna would run out of things to draw, but no. Not at all. A true artist found something to draw in everything, even things they've seen a million times before. She repeated this lesson to herself whenever she felt like jumping into the lake and never coming back up, because it's all the same. Same Camp, same activities, same water, same people who never really interested her. Kyna sighed and sat on the edge of a dock, pulling out a fresh stick of charcoal and her sketchpad. There was something to draw here. She was as sure as the moon light that reflected against the lake's clear glass surface. Kyna preferred going out at night. When no one else was there.
Before she could even begin sketching the first outline of the fallen leaves that were floating on the water, a twig behind her snapped. The brunette's head whipped in the direction of the sound, ready to yell at the person to go away.

| KYNA ROCHELLE MADLEYStanding on the dock was a girl. Kyna didn't recognize her, because over the past few years she didn't really look at anyone's faces. They were people. They were all the same. Her blonde hair was tied back, and her arms were raised ever so slightly in a mock surrender. The girl greeted her. Kyna could've snorted. But she didn't. She feigned indifference, like always. She looked the girl in the eye for about five seconds before turning her back on her.
"Would you mind going someplace else?" Kyna said, as authoritatively and politely as she could.

Sam shrugged, feeling just as stubborn as ever. She leaned against a pillar on the dock looking out on the water. "There's only one dock at the lake," she said flatly. She crossed her arms and looked back to the girl. "I come here a lot, most often alone. But that doesn't mean that can't change." Sam always enjoyed meeting new people, whether they enjoyed it or not. She had that type of opinion about everything, though she understood when people needed to be alone. Maybe sometimes people spent too much time alone, though. Sometimes that needed to change.

| KYNA ROCHELLE MADLEYKyna's eyebrows furrowed, but she kept her body erect and facing the water. Of course, she knew how to comprehend basic language and understood what the girl meant, but that made her even more confused. Wasn't she clear? She wanted to be alone. Kyna thought her body language, tone of voice and diction proved that point. Maybe she needed to clarify with the girl. Just a bit.
"Um, I'm sorry, but I thought I was clear with what I said." She had perfect that demeaning tone, the one she used to make everyone avoid her. The right amount of droll and a pinch of anger and egoism, she could make even the kindest people go away. "I want to be alone."
Despite what she thought of it, she knew her father wouldn't be proud of how she acted, but that's what he gets for leaving her here for years.

Sam appreciated the girls perserverence but she wasn't leaving the lake. Sam looked back out at the lake, the moon glistening of the water. Her smile was still plastered across her face. This girl wasn't going to give up easily though. Her tone may have been distancing and put off, but Sam thought she could change that. At least it gave her somthing to do in the cold night. "And I thought I was clear with what I said," Sam stated. She sat down on the edge of the dock pulling her guitar into her lap. Her tone was still positive. "Things can change. I'm not leaving." Now Sam looked at the girl. She seemed to have been about to start using charcoal to create a picture. Sam must have interupted. "Are you an artist?" she asked in an attenpt to change the subject.

| KYNA ROCHELLE MADLEYKyna's body froze instinctively to the human who decided to ignore her warnings and pleas to be alone, and sit on the dock next to her. Gripping her charcoal tighter, but not tight enough to break it, the girl resumed trying to draw the floating leaves. Since the hostile approach didn't work, she'd have to go with Plan B; ignorance. Problem was, her willpower was quite weak, and her impulsive instincts would take over and make her reply nastily to anything the girl said. Still, she could try. And try she did.
The blonde said she wasn't leaving. This almost made Kyna's nostrils flail, but she composed herself. Straight back. Face clean of emotions. Let's try this. She moved the black stick across the paper, trying to capture the lines and shades only nature could perfectly create. For a minute, she almost thought she could concentrate with the girl there, but she was wrong. The sound of the other girl's breathing was starting to irritate her. A little more and the ignoring thing would disappear completely.
"Are you an artist?"
Kyna quickly glanced at her, annoyed that the girl disturbed her. "What do you think?" She said, her eyes back on the paper and her tone sarcastic. She resumed drawing. So much for ignorance.

Nothing seemed to be on Sam's mind at that moment. The girl seemed to have given up which satisfied Sam enough to think that she had a right to stay without being minded. Sam didn't want to push it though and start playing her guitar. She'll work up to that once the girl is a bit more open. When the girl asked what she thought of her art, Sam's eyebrows raised. So, she's talking directly now and not wishing for me to leave. That's an improvment. "Looks great," Sam told the girl softly. "You're pretty good." And she stopped talking, taking in the picture of that the girl not wanting Sam to keep talking.

| KYNA ROCHELLE MADLEYThe girl's answer made Kyna raise an eyebrow, and wonder how she thought she could talk directly to the brunette. She ignored the blonde for a few seconds, reanalyzing the situation. Maybe she misinterpreted the last sentence as a request for her opinion. That fault was on Kyna's part. She made a mental note to think more thoroughly, and then dropped the subject. She needed to find a way to get her to leave.
Still, the praise caught her off-guard. She'd never let anyone close enough to see what she was drawing, and hearing a compliment in a voice that wasn't her father's felt foreign to her ears. Kyna almost muttered a thank you on impulse, but she held her tongue. She can't get too friendly.
Scratch that one part. It wasn't the praise that caught her off-guard. It was the girl herself.
Kyna continued drawing, keeping her mouth shut for a while. The girl was still looking at her, and it made her fume inside. Human contact was one of the many things in the world that infuriated her, and considering that she was human, that was sort of unfortunate. For both her and the people interacting with her.
After a minute or so she couldn't take it anymore.
"I'm so sorry, " Her voice was as sarcastic as a voice could get, "But I'm not really comfortable with people looking over my shoulder while I draw." She said the second part seriously, and added, for good measure. "Now shoo."
A/N: it's so hard to RP with her because i have no idea if a character's just gonna bail on her or XD

Sam's new goal of the night was to get this girl to smile. If it were to take her all night she'd find a way to do it. That was why Sam was responding the way she was. Sarcasm came natrally to Sam, like the saying, That's my middle name! or something like that. She knew how to cooperate with people who distanced themselves. Her confidence showed it, but Sam knew she wasn't always right. Maybe this girl really needed to be alone, like Sam had felt only moments before, but like she said, plans can change. The girl proceeded, after a moment, to say the most she had said to Sam that night. Sam had nodded taking in the girl's requests of her to leave or shoo as she would put it. Sam considered this, figuring that maybe it was a good idea not to piss this girl off anymore but Sam still felt a tug in her stomach like she needed to help. "Well," Sam said leaning her hands on the wood of the dock. "I definitly do understand you want to be alone I got that when you first gave me that look before, but that doesn't mean that you've got to send everyone who comes knocking on your door away." Sam stood up now, slinging her guitar strap over her shoulder. She strummed the strings once and turned away starting to play a simple song. "I don't know how many people have told you you've got talent, but you do." It was just something Sam wanted to add as she walked back up the dock. Sam stopped about three quarters of the way down the dock and sat down again, leaning her back against one of the dock's pillars, softly strumming her guitar. Sam decided she was far enough away from the girl then. She wasn't going to leave judt because the girl said so, Sam was just going to give her a bit more space. OOC: I totally understand. Unless you really know another person's character, it's always hard to respond to the characters own decisions actions with your characters decisions and actions. But you play your character beautifully. (;

| KYNA ROCHELLE MADLEY"...but that doesn't mean that you've got to send everyone who comes knocking on your door away."
Kyna's expression hardened. Who was this girl, and why did she care? It was none of her business and Kyna knew for a fact that getting rid of things that irritated you was not only refreshing, it was also healthy. Why live with things you couldn't stand? For Kyna, people was one of those things.
How did you get through to people who were this...persistent? Kyna weighed the options in her head. She could tell the truth and yell at the girl for trying to worm her way into Kyna's thoughts, but that would cause much too much attention. The last thing she wanted was to be recognized. More people would pester her. No, she needed a solution that would render her still completely invisible yet threatening at the same time.
But what to do? Well, she could lie. Yeah, lying seemed like the perfect solution. But what would she say? Deny that she sent people away? That would already contradict what she said earlier, which was "Shoo", which was obviously a word that was used to send people away. Think, Kyna. Think.
"I don't send everyone away." She said, glancing sideways at the girl. Her hand was still gripping her charcoal, only less than an inch above the paper. She turned her head towards the blonde's face, looking her right in the eye, and then smiled, eyelashes batting. "Only the people who irritate me." Which is, well, almost everyone. Only the special kind of people didn't infuriate her till not end. Special kind of people like her father.

"Ah, okay," Sam responded with soft and subtle sarcasm. "Only the people who irritate you, you say?" Her voice trailed off as her thoughts drifted away. She was smiling now herself. She had gotten the Brunette to crack a smile whether it had been for the reasons Sam had hoped for or not, the girl's expressionless face had been cracked and differed. It gave Sam a bit more to work with and she was eager to push on but understood the girl still needed her space. Sam was going to be patient though with ADHD, it wasn't easy. As she strummed her guitar to a faster tune now going at a subtle but quicker speed with a better mood in the music, she thought of what she could say next. Her options varied. She could go with something a bit more serious, harsh even, maybe a bit more sarcasm, or something honest and personal. She threw away all those ideas figuring something simple would do. "I'm Sam, by the way." It was straightforward enough and appropriate in Sam's eyes for the situation they were in. Sitting there, she felt that something had changed for the better between them, whether the girl believed it or not, Sam could still feel it.

| KYNA ROCHELLE MADLEY The blonde didn't seem to get the message. Kyna wanted her to leave. If she couldn't comprehend simple phrases such as "someplace else", "people who irritate me", "I want to be alone" and even the word "Shoo", there was little to no hope of ever shaking her off. The moon was still high in the sky. Would it be a good excuse to say she was sleepy? Oh, but she wasn't. Kyna needed this time to draw. It was her only time.
The girl introduced herself. Sam. Pretty common name. Not that she wanted to figure it out, but Kyna wondered who her Godly parent was. Someone who didn't comply with her pleas for solitude was sure to have someone persistent and patient. Or irritating. Or both.
"Hello there, Sam." And maybe her persistent deserved at least a teensy tiny bit of respect. Only enough to earn her a name. "My name is Kyna." She graced the girl with another completely fake smile and added, "Now will you pretty please leave me be?" There was nothing wrong with the girl's playing. In fact, Kyna actually thought she was pretty good, being of no musical talent whatsoever. But you'd have to drag her to hell and back before she'd ever say that out loud.

Sam understood what the girl, who had inteoduced herself as Kyna, was getting at. She perfectly understood really, but Sam wasn't leaving. Her message was given and recieved, but wasn't being called for. Sam had thought she made one thing clear though. She wasn't leaving. Maybe it needed to be implanted jn this girl's head. The two of them obviously could not come to understanding either way, so why not ignore each other's reqests. Though, Sam's own reqest was never put out for discussion. "I'm all the way over here, Kyna," Sam said using her name just for effect. Sam wa no longer looking over the girl's shoulder, and a good couple of feet away. Why not just leave it at that? "I'm not going anywhere but right here."

| KYNA ROCHELLE MADLEYThe girl, Sam, moved a few feet away and Kyna let out a breath she didn't know she had been holding. Her muscles relaxed a little bit because even though a few feet wasn't really a big space, at least she wasn't touching her. Now the matter of getting her to shut up.
Of course she could just keep it as is, meaning Kyna could just stay silent for the rest of the time she was forced to spend with this girl. (Oh my, was she actually spending time with this person? Surely not. She was spending time trying to make her leave. ) But if she didn't say anything, that would mean she had given up. Given up on trying to make her leave and Kyna didn't give up on anything. Well, Kyna would know she didn't give up, but the girl would think that. And that would be plain horrible. Even as an invisible camper, she still held a reputation to the people who knew she existed; She did not do anything less than perfectly.
"Thank you for giving me space." She said, with fake exasperation, like it was all she wanted. Kyna smiled in the girl's direction and filled her voice with venom, "A few more feet and soon enough you'll find yourself walking back to whatever cabin you came from. Maybe now you could leave me alone?"

Sam shrugged continueing to strum her guitar a little softer now. Kyna still seemed to be trying to push Sam on. It wasn't like she was going to leave just because some stubborn girl wanted her to. The only things that would make her leave are the cleaning harpies and they were no where close now, so looks like she wa in the clear. Yet, something bothered Sam entirely. Not only was a little bit odd she had never really seen this girl before, but the fact that it bothered her for reasons beyond her own. It was almost hard not to get noticed at camp. Kyna must just push everyone away, and when she does say the people that irritate her, Sam concluded that's pretty much everyone. She just wanted to figure this girl out. She was curious. "I already told you," Sam said softly, pure seriousness in her voice and not a tone of sarcasm. "It's going to take a lot more than pleading to get me away from here. OOC:I love how your twocharacters are completely the oposite from each other. (;

| KYNA ROCHELLE MADLEYKyna snorted. This girl was more stubborn than a lot of the other people she's encountered. Usually all it took was a stare and a threat to get people to understand that she wanted them to buzz off. But this girl, Kyna was pretty sure she got the idea that she wanted to be left alone, but she persisted. It was weird. Very strange. Uncanny. Bizarre. Unusual. Plain dreadful, and there weren't enough adjectives in the english language. But then again, Kyna could think of some pretty good verbs. (Maime being the most prominent.) But no. She had to control herself. She'd never be able to be invisible if people found out she was "the girl who stabbed the other girl who annoyed her"
"What would it take then?" She asked, rolling her eyes. "Anything to get you to go bye bye." She said, without a single ounce of joking in her tone. She was still sketching, a little annoyed that this distraction was making the quality of her drawing lower than the usual standard.

Sam's strumming of her guitar steadied a bit to a slower pace again. Her thoughts wandered even farther into depths of her mind. She was having a bit of trouble understanding this girl, just likefrom the start. But the more she thought about it, the more complicated this girl seemed to be. With the conspicuous requests of departure from the dock, Kyna seemed to grow even more irritable. In some ways, Sam believed, it was all just an act. She may as well hve been hiding something which could trigger her distant feelings.
"I'm going to tell you this no, straight up," Sam said with a hard tone. "I'm not leaving this dock. I've had a rough day. If I want to be out here, I'm going to be out here. Might as well learn to share, correct?" This girl was getting just as annoying to Sam as Sam must be getting to her and not just because she made Sam think a lot.

| KYNA ROCHELLE MADLEYKyna never did learn how to share, and in her opinion, it was a value that most children should be taught at an early age. But she wasn't just a child. She was a child who could think, and she knew about this thing called "marking your territory." And that's what she did, here, on this dock. She sat her little bum on the edge and put on her most menacing face to scares of intruders. Unfortunately, it didn't work. And Kyna sure wasn't going to learn how to share now.
Or should she? No. Of course not. Why should she? Why can't people just mind their own business? Why? Still, she wasn't stupid. No matter how much she tried to deny it, that Sam girl had made it clear. She wasn't moving. Kyna would have to deal, or try harder. For now, try harder seemed like the better option, but with a quick glance at her drawing, she realized how this anger and annoyance was affecting her work.
With a single swift movement of her hand, she tore out the sheet of paper. The spare charcoal dust blew in the end as she crumpled it up, the black-lined leaves fading as it sank into the water.
"Fine. Don't leave." She snapped, trying to keep her anger in check. "Just don't disturb me. I'm trying to do something that requires me complete and undivided attention." The moment she finished speaking, her eyes were focused on her paper, the charcoal ready to make the first defining stroke.

All types of arts required focus. They needed their mind to be focused but free and full of inspiration all at once. Sam knew that much, more even, of all types of arts. Performing, Fine, Practical. Everyone has their own spacific type of mind the effect being different styles of original work. Though Sam was eager to push on and discover more about Kyna's arts, she shut her mouth keeping silent. Nothing seemed tochange between them anymore, and Sam wasn't planning on seeing anymore improvement. She had a bit of faith though, shrugging off the girls harsh words and tone, it didn't matter much to her. Sam's only problem was hating to see people unhappy. That was just the type of girl she was though. Uplifting, confident, pretty much an out going go getting girl. It made her who she was and working with others, it was practically her job at heart.
Sam thought of all the things she would say to Kyna but saved the words for another time. Instead she let her music do the talking.
