Being Bothered (Blake)

Avril sat, looking into the darkness of night as she got away from people. She hated talking, despised it really. Only her siblings actually understood. She sighed, she hadn't had a real conversation with someone since she was 8 or 9. She enjoyed musing that she had forgotten how to have a conversation. She wasn't emotionless, or.. very rude. She just didn't like talking to people, because people pried into lives, they bothered her.

Ethan was walking through the forest. He liked being out at night, something about the night sky made him think. What could he ask for better? The cool breeze pushed against his face, like he was being punched by Aelous's winds. That made his hair fly back. Wandering around the forest, Ethan saw a girl alone looking into the black night. He was thinking maybe he should introduce his self. Maybe he should go, and not bother with her. Ethan had decisions like this when he was young. Didn't know what to choose, but went over her. Standing right next to her and saying, "Isn't the black night great?"

Avril looked at him, was he serious? Did he not understand body language. She sighed, not bothering to look at him as she answered quietly, "The dark cold night, where anything can come attack is wonderful." she wasn't one for looking on the positive side of things, but she did like the night. It was one of the times that no one--usually--was pestering her to talk.

"Yeah, that's a great detail." Ethan shivered. He had no idea what this girl was thinking. They were both in the Forest. So she was pretty correct. This girl seemed dark, like something rotten was inside of her. Ethan didn't give up, he might as well put some cheer in her. "My name is Ethan, son of Hecate." Ethan said. He wasn't scared of this girl, and wasn't gonna be.

She looked at him, "Avril. Daughter of Hades." she put emphasis on the name. She continued to look out at the darkness. She had seen someone earlier, she wondered if she would again. She had seen the same person, more like ghost, for a week or so, but no one listened to her.

Never before had a spirit not sought out a child of Hades to ask for mercy from their father, or the way to the underworld, or how they could get there. This one didn'y, and it was putting her on edge.

Ethan never met a child of Hades before. Well actually he never met someone this dark before. Staring into the darkness also, he saw nothing of course. Ethan could never see anything in the dark, it just wasn't one of his talents. "So what do you like to talk about?" Ethan asked. He really wanted to know her better. It was something about her, that made him wanna know more about.

Avril looked at him, "I don't usually talk to people...so nothing." her voice was monotone as she stared at the ghost. everytime she saw it...she heard things, things that she didn't want to hear, that she didn't want to think about. Avril had a heart, she just... didn't like for it to show, she buried it deep into her soul, half devoured by the darkness that she let creep into it.

Ethan looked back to her. "Are you sure you don't want to talk about anything? I'll listen." He said. Ethan really wanted to know what this girl was about, how her feelings were. Maybe Ethan really didn't feel much about this to anyone. Mostly cause he really didn't need to do that kinda stuff. Looking back into the darkness and saying, "Is something in there?"

Avril nodded. "Something's been in there for a long time. And wants to get out." she said, her voice still holding a stable monotone.

She looked at him for once, her dark brown eyes, meeting his eyes. She tried to place him. Who really ever wanted to talk to her? She was nobody. She was nothing, just a dark daughter of Hades who had a power that had made her see and hear things that no one should.

"Why do you want to talk to me?" she asked, looking at him, her eyes and voice portraying that slightest bit of emotion; Curiosity.

"Well your alone here. And your just someone I really want to know." Ethan said. It was cold night, which made a shiver down his spine. Still looking into the darkness. He really wished he could see ghost. Possibly he could use his magic to look into the darkness. But he really didn't know any charms, spells, and incantations to do it. So Ethan looked pretty hopeless staring into their. "Do you go here every night?"

Avril continued to look at the ghost, it was staring right at her. She closed her eyes for a second, hoping that it would go, but it didn't. She forced herself to look away. "Most of the time I do. Yes." she said softly. She wasn't used to talking to people... in general, a conversation... she never had one really.

"Erm. What about you? Do you come out here a lot?" she asked, looking over at him.

"Yeah sometimes. When I barely have anyone to talk to. It's kinda hard being at a camp where you don't have much friends except for your cabin mates." Ethan laughed trying to ignore the thought. He had some friends here, but not a lot. And at the time, he usually goes off campus to visit some mortal friends of his.

Avril mentally scoffed. Camp is always hard when you're an outcast like me. She thought to herself. She never had real friends. She sighed, "Right." she said simply. She looked over to where the ghost was... it was gone, only a soft moaning to be heard by only her. Meaning that her father had officially whisked the soul away forever.

"Hey would you like to go see a movie or something, like on any time?" Ethan asked. It was nothing of a date he was asking for. The kinda thing he was looking for was a get together. Possibly to know her better, and be her friend. Ethan wasn't those kinda guys, that just wanted to date. He was all about caring for others.

[color=indigo]Avril looked at him like he had three heads. "seriously?" se asked, no one ever did ask her that. Never in her entire life, no one wanted to actually hang out with her.

"Er..." she looked at him in wonder, "I don't leave camp very much..." she trailed.

"Well its fun. You don't have to come with me. I'm not forcing you or anything." Ethan said quickly. He really didn't want to turn this into a fight, she was a daughter of Hades. And pretty much he knew she had a dark side. Ethan looked back into the darkness like Avril was Medusa.

Avril sighed, that's great, now he was scared of her. She gave him a tiny ghost of a smile as she faced him, "Sure. I could get out of camp for a while." she let some type of a happy emotion come through her eyes.

Ethan smiled. "Alright great so when do you wanna go?" He asked. Meeting eyes to eyes with her. He was glad Avril wasn't actually mad at him or get into a fit. This wouldn't scare Ethan or anything but it may get him into some what to do thing.

Avril simply shrugged, "I don't care." she said, her monotone returning to her gratefully. She grinned mentally. This would be the first time in years that she would be leaving camp. She wondered what would've changed in 7/8 years. She looked at him, "Lunch i guess?" she suggested.

"Yeah sure at lunch." Ethan grinned. This was probably the second or third time he went out of camp with someone. Looking around making sure a monster wasn't in site or anything. And saying, "Well I guess I'll see you tomorrow at lunch." And started to leave.
