| {I TYPED MORE FOR CHB THAN MY ENGLISH ESSAY WHICH I'M SUPPOSED TO HAVE FINISHED. oh well.}
ORIGINAL HALF BLOOD APPLICATION
Half-Blood Name: Andrew (Andy) November Hyrulean Age/Birthday: 15/16, [NOT SURE/AROUND 1995/1996] Gender: Male God Parent: Hephaestus Claimed: Yes. In battle with the first monster Andrew ever encountered (a young feral Hellhound), Hephaestus granted him a pair of lethal shortswords, one made of Celestial Bronze, and one made of a matter similar to Imperial Gold. As a result, his weapons (see below) consist usually of this pair of shortswords. Both were stamped with a glowing wrench. Mortal Family: ***Original Mother Dead: Named Christina Hyrulean {Killed by a manticore shortly after the birth of Andrew} Adoptive Mother: Angela Riveria Adoptive Father: James Riveria Years in Camp: 0 [so far]. After being claimed at the age of 14, Andrew still lived with his adoptive parents in the lower Ontario, Canada, constantly being bullied for being intelligent and weaponry-obsessed [weird affiliation with Athena and Ares?]. Then he was evacuated to Camp Half-blood after his house was burned down by a stray injured dragon, which was later mistaken for a large predatorial bird and killed with a massive explosion by the RCMP. Brief History: Born in Sudbury, close to the Big Nickel, his mother was killed and he never knew his father. After being pulled from an orphanage at the age of 2, he was adopted by Angela and James, two stern but loving parents who tried to keep him in line {Living in Toronto}. However, at school, where he was a grade-skipper due to intelligence in mathematics and physical sciences, he was bullied and shoved around a lot. After a late growth spurt at 13 years old, he grew to 5’8” and began working for his parents in a metal-stamping business. Isolated mostly at school, he joined a Craft club and devoted most of his time to creating robots and miniature vehicles of war. On his birthday at 14 years old, during a fire drill, he was attacked by a Hellhound and ran all the way towards the closest town, where he was given his claiming and weapons. A team of demigods returning from a minor quest in the Arctic brought him to CHB, as he had no home to return to as well. Physical Appearance: Pale, easily sunburned skin, with an unknown background that seemed to flip from European to East Asian to Russian from day to day. He is tall [almost six feet] and medium built, however not fat. He has black hair and chocolate brown eyes, which scare the living daylights out of people he treats to the ‘Ihateyousopleasegodie’ stare. Believe me, he’s had lots of practice. He’s not light and focuses on heavy combat. He can run for longer periods of time than most people, but his sprinting is terrible. He also has a scar running across his right arm which he actually has no idea where it came from. Personality: Some girls tend to be very drawn to him (:3), as he has a protective aura of people who actually get to know him very well. He is a bit socially awkward, unable to admit heartfelt feelings easily and also unable to pick up on some social cues. He however snaps quickly at people who he cannot tolerate, and will keep them in his bad book [which is probably sixty thousand pages long], where they will have to dig their way out, or go deeper. He can act extremely stupid at some times. Fatal Flaw: He feels he can solve all of his problems by himself, and group work isn’t for him. In fact, he may try to help others too by shouldering their burdens. Pets: None. Absolutely no pets, whatsoever. What are you looking at here? Go on! Talents: Not juggling, that’s for sure. He is excellent at building robots and creating new ideas for war equipment. Andrew also forges good weapons, except for daggers. Strange curse. He is also a decent match for hand-to-hand combat, but hates personal long range, i.e. archery and throwing stuff. He can play the piano and the guitar, that’s a talent, isn’t it? He also taught himself how to use a computer and a DJ console. He is a tech whiz, having inherited that side of Hephaestus's personality. Weapons: Dual-wield shortswords, different blade but near-indestructable black wood hilt, guards, and pommel. Year-Round or Summer: Year-Round Other: He has the power to transfer heat to a metal or from it, but still relying on physics, he cannot create heat where there is none. He also has a finicky, unstable power to modify metal and bend it to his will.

| Well so far we haven't allowed mechanical weapons at camp, and might not for awhile.
Wait, when were guns mentioned in the books?

| Guns were mentioned in the books at the beginning of the Lost Hero, which is canon right? Annabeth offers Piper a Mossberg shotgun that shoots Celestial Bronze, which she doesn't accept in favor of Katoptris. | |

| Okay. I understand. But if you did read the Lost Hero, it's in the part when they get to camp. Annabeth brings Piper to the armory and there Piper picks out a weapon. Annabeth lets Piper use her cellphone to call her dad, where Jane picks up the phone. | |

| Hello. This is Banana ((obviously)). Well, guns are not allowed- I think- because for one, it would be unfair for combat between two users. He could have a gun, or a pocket gun, that is a secondary weapon, having one primary one first. Usually, it's a bow and arrow, sword or daggers. During quests or monster fights, that's when you use it. But during CTF((Capture the Flag)) and Arena training/User interaction, you'll have to use the primary weapon. Got it? :3
Now, for Andrew. He's fine. Accepted. But I might as well add, this site is pre-The Lost Hero and post-Battle at the Labyrinth. I don't think he'll be allowed with an Imperial gold weapon. Also, the mortal family part sould be placed rather in the history part. :3
So that's the basics or weaponry.

| OHMYGOD it's the dog from UP! I'm hiding under your porch because I LOVE you!
I did say the material was LIKE imperial gold, though. It's enchanted gold, as the story line for Andrew right now says it was forged by an element of Hephaestus. Just like the Stygian Iron and other monster-killing metals.

| Name: Tyler Keating Hale
Age/Birthday: September 9th, 1993 {Age @ date of character creation: 18}
Gender: M
God Parent: Apollo
Claimed: Yes
Mortal Family: Orphan (No parents, taken in by Canadian Arctic Ranger team and raised at camp)
Years in Camp: 2
Brief History: Tyler doesn’t really know the name of his family, or who his mother was. He was found as a kid on the side of a slushy/snow-covered road up north in Canada, where the Rangers found him slightly shivering in the spring thaw. He was dressed in nothing but a yellow blanket depicting the sun in a scientifically accurate way, with the solar flares and dark spots, attached to a birth certificate with no parental information on it. The Rangers on reserve on a surveillance patrol found him, and much to their excitement he was a quick learner, and a strong, intellectually talented child. Unfortunately, after he turned 11, the ‘wildlife’ attacks on the Canadian Ranger patrols doubled in intensity and occurrence. Luckily for Tyler, the Rangers had just watched a movie on their television, “An Inconvenient Truth”, in fact, which made their group leader attribute the extra ‘wildlife’ attacks to melting ice, receding glaciers and whatnot. Tyler Hale was named after the grandfather-in-law of a Ranger who served in the Second World War (a demigod, but unknown to the Ranger), Keating was from the last name of the CFB commander, and Hale was from the day where the Rangers played too much Resistance on Playstation 3 while not on patrol.
(For anyone interested/watchful enough to notice that the ‘wildlife’ implies weak monsters attacking, hidden by mist and drawn by the scent of Tyler’s demigod blood, the Canadian Rangers can shoot and kill the monsters due to adult demigods being dispersed into the Canadian Army chain of command. The 200 bullets given to each member of the Canadian Rangers per year are designed to be full metal jacket with a celestial bronze alloy core, to penetrate arctic hellhound hides and kill monsters.)
Tyler was not officially allowed to use the Lee-Enfield Mk. IV, standard reliable weapon of the Rangers, because he was not trained officially and did not have a license. However, he did sneak a few shots over his life on the outposts, until he was moderately proficient with the rifle. On his tenth birthday, he received a compound bow that he was barely able to draw. He also received a quiver filled with exactly twenty-six arrow, which were ‘bronze-tipped’, although if one were to ask the original purchaser of the arrows AND the store at which they were purchased, they would both swear the arrows were steel-tipped. And nowhere on the warranty or the receipt did it say that the arrows would replenish themselves in the quiver every sunrise, unless one was watching the quiver.
Soon, the Arctic camo-style bow became an extension of Tyler’s person, and he learned to creep silently, on the dirt-and-gravel paved roads, on the tundra, and in the forests. He hunted with the Ranger patrols, competing in friendly competitions with his ‘surrogate’ father, although his bow was much more efficient and quiet than the loud crack of the Lee-Enfield. He became quite accurate and fast on the draw, scoring perfect hits on his DIY targets out on the field. On his fifteenth birthday, he was on a visit with his Ranger father figure to CFB Borden of Ontario. He ventured out into a nearby city, with his bow in a case and his arrows on his back. Upon arrival into a GO train station, a shady pickpocket promptly stole his wallet and ran into the urban jungle. Tyler, being an aggressive and athletic type, promptly gave chase. The pickpocket led him through mazes of alleys and tunnels until finally reaching a dead end. The pickpocket promptly melted into feather-shooting birds, and then much to Tyler’s horror, out of the shadows melted 4 Scythian Dracanae, who were dressed in modern gangster clothing, and ready to kill.
Tyler promptly ran from the unfamiliar sights, the birds giving chase and flinging arrows at his retreating figure. Tyler readied his compound bow hiding behind a particularly filthy dumpster, with steel arrows bouncing and screaming off the green dumpster. Suddenly, the sun shone into the alley, wiping away the shadows, and Tyler’s bow gave off a golden metallic sheen. His nerves steadied, and his bow blinding the monsters, Tyler killed the birds and grievously injured one dracaena, but the other wounded his draw arm and he lay there, about to be killed by the serpent women looming over him. A lithe girl appeared, leaping over the dumpster with ridiculous grace and literally blasted away the creatures with a shout laced with unrelenting power. The girl helped him out, and because they were at the time both clueless to the confirmed existence of others with powers and gifts, they quickly became best friends. The girl was an orphan, living on the streets, fending off attacks by minor monsters, and she commented on how she had never seen so many powerful monsters attack one person before, hinting at Tyler’s power within.
Even though the orphan girl joined Tyler’s surrogate family, and they both did not consider themselves orphans any more or even brothers and sisters. Merely best friends who told each other everything, under the stars, the lights, or even by text. Unfortunately, the year after that encounter was the worst year of Tyler’s moderately decent life until then. Two weeks before New Year’s Eve back up north, Tyler confessed his feelings for the girl to her, and asked her to the school dance. She shyly reciprocated and accepted. Tyler planned what he would do in advance for the whole week prior, and on the day of, he greeted her with a bouquet of roses and a smile. Unfortunately, she had been planning something else. Brushing past him, she proceeded to her secret crush, the school heartthrob, and they danced away the night. She had only been using him, and leading him on. Tyler was humiliated, ashamed, and heartbroken, and he ran out of the school halls even before an hour had passed on the clock. To the backdrop of the New Year coming, and couples kissing, Tyler called his Ranger parents to leave from the accursed place.
They were killed by a drunk driver, a party hopper in a sports car going 140 km/h on a 60 km/h road.
All vehicle occupants died on impact, and the cell connection dropped after his Ranger father’s phone was smashed into useless circuitry.
Tyler’s mental faculties had degraded to the efficiency of a potato, and he chose to walk home. Unfortunately, a blizzard sprung from nowhere, and arctic hellhounds sprung onto the loosely paved roads from all sides. He had no weapons but a Cold Steel knife, and when he began to fight, he realized he was missing something. He was missing the feeling of the girl’s back against his, fighting back to back like he had grown used to in the year that they were together. Overwhelmed, he was badly mauled to the point of near death, which would have killed him had not Apollo himself intervened in the breaking dawn. A fragment of the sun god took pity on Tyler’s broken form, physical and mental, and healed him before teleporting him and his god given bow to the entrance of Camp Half Blood.
Upon regaining consciousness, he swore never to let emotions of attraction hinder him ever again, and to ever trust anyone ever again, and thusly, he left behind his past in the halls of an ice-cold high school.
Physical Appearance: Tyler has sun-golden hair, mixed with some kind of brown shade. He has green eyes, and he’s considered rather good looking. Tall and slightly muscular, he’d prefer to run and kite enemies than fight them with brute force. He has an affinity for polar opposite colours on alternating days, wearing all white one day, (eg. White hoodie, white shirt, and white cargo pants), and black on the other. His eyes faintly glow golden in the dark, and his hair will blow gently in the solar wind, so it will appear to move when he is outside even if it is a completely still day.
Personality: Tyler is actually an extremely easygoing person. Even though he’s suffered many personal losses, he still tries to make friends, and keep everyone around him happy. Alone, however, he is bitter and angry at everything around him. He tries to remain at a distance from everyone, for obvious reasons, and if he throws someone into his ‘bad books’, they stay there for a very long time, even if they attempt to explicitly redeem themselves. However, to his friends he is still trusting to a limit, and he is rather laidback and chill.
Fatal Flaw: He almost always holds grudges against people he hates. This makes some people hate him back as well, creating rifts and tensions within his life. Pets: None.
Talents: He has excellent stamina and sneaking skills, along with a natural strength and accuracy in ranged weaponry, just like all other Apollo children.
Weapons: 40 lbs pull gold/Arctic-Camo mix style compound bow
Year-Round or Summer: Year-round
Other: If he imbues an arrow with energy while nocked, it will follow a target. However, he can only charge an arrow in broad daylight, and if it is unnocked, it loses the ability.
