| Seth couldn't help but smile a bit. He wrapped his arms around Kat, bringing her closer. "Yeah I know. Remember when we used to hate each other. Then there was that complicated love square thingy," Seth said, bunching his eyebrows together at the last part. Seth's gaze drifted back to Connor who was sleepy peacefully. Connor's curly blond hair stuck up in someplaces. Seth couldn't help but laugh a bit. | |

| Kat laughed with him for a moment. The memories at camp were so elaberate as if they had just happened yesterday. The day the two of them met, Kat was barely consious under Thalia's pine. Everything came flooding back to her the horrid memories coming in more vivid. Fears crept into her mind things she woukd never have thought about until now, now with a newborn in the house, now with so many more problems. Kat didn't even have a job. How was she supposed to do this well enough? She couldn't go through this. And the dangers? It was a risk staying out of a protective barrier alone. It took Kat a moment to realize she was shaking. She tightened her hug around Seth as if she could burry herself into him and never come back. | |

| Seth was remembering their time at camp when Kat started shaking. "Hey, what's wrong?" Seth asked her as Kat's grip on him tightened. Seth pulled away and looked Kat in the eyes. "What's the matter?" Seth asked, starting to get worried. Seth studied Kat's face. It his Seth they Kat didn't have a job. Well, that was okay. Seth worked as a doctor and had a good income. But, they were also out of camp. Oh boy. Well they would get through this. Seth hugged Kat again, closer this time though. | |

| Kat shook her head. "I'm just scared," she admitted. The thoughts were frightening and not very pleasent. She was almost ready to plead with Seth to help her change the subject. She unhooked her arms from behind Seth's back and took his hands in hers leaning against his chest, fighting tears. | |

| A look of confused crossed Seth's face as Kat said she was sacred. Seth squeezed her hands, letting her know that he was there for her. "What are you scared of? Everything is going to be fine," Seth said, trying to comfort Kat. "Relax, I'm here. I took a few days off anyway to spend time together. Besides, we've been through a whole lot worse, remember?" Seth asked Kat, smiling a bit. | |

| Kat shrugged, then nodded. She knew better then to be scared. She led Seth back into the bedroom her eyes already starting to close. She looked at the clock. It read 1:34 in the morning. Kat hoped to be able to sleep through the rest of the night peacefully but she knew that probably would not happen. She rolled up under the covers in the bed close to Seth's warm body feeling much better. | |

| Seth raised an eyebrow, but didnt say anything. He knew Kat was strong. Seth followed Kat to their room and fell on the bed, quickly falling asleep with his arms wrapped around Kat. Seth knew Connor would wake up soon. Seth hoped he would stay asleep for a very long time. Seth also hoped that he didn't have any nightmares. Seth still was a demigod and still got nightmares once in a while. | |

| Kat's eyes failed to close. She couldn't fall asleep again. She had suffered many sleepless nights when she was carrying Connor but that was just because of Pregnamcy crap. It shouldn't be carrying out to afterwards right? Despite it being only three days? Kat became more and more aware of the surroundings. The shaking old air-conditioner sticking half way out the window, Kat's cluttered old dresser, the alarm clock she was staring at and the phone. She saw the light from the hallway come in through the slightly cracked open door. She heard Seth's soft breathing as she slept. Kat looked up at his sleeping face. She brought his hand to her lips and kissed it before trying once more to fall asleep. | |

| It must've had been a few hours or a few minutes later when the phone rang. Seth's eyes shot open and Seth sat up on bed. Seth looked over at Kat and saw that she was still awake. Seth smiled, but the ringing of the phone made Seth move. Yawning, Seth reached over to the dresser and grabbed the house phone. "Hello?" Seth said into the phone. Seth got out of the bed and leaned against the wall as the speaker asked Seth a question. "Yes this is he," Seth told the person on the other line. Seth peered through the window and could see that the sun was starting to come up a bit. But, what the person said made Seth drop the phone. Seth's eye were filled with horror. | |

| Kat sat up in bed swinging her legs over to Seth's side where he was standing. Seth had dropped the phone. "Seth," she said softly. "Seth what is it?" Kat stood up Seth to look at her. "Hun, what happened?" Seth seemed so in shock he wasn't moving let alone acknoledging Kat. She narrowed her eyes and bent down to pick up the phone. "Uh, hello?...No, this is Katherine." Kat looked up at Seth as the person on the other end of the line began to explain. Kat's eyes started to widen and she became lost for woods. She hung up the phone tossing it on the bed. She stood there speechless, her mouth hanging open partially as if she were about to say something, but she didn't. She couldn't think of anything to say. | |

| Seth felt like he couldn't breath. Seth had just saw his mom a few hours ago. She could not be dead. But it was true. Mia was dead, gone. Shot at a drug hit and run. If only Seth's mom had stayed at their house a little longer, Seth's mom wouldn't have died. "S-S-She's dead," Seth told Kat, barley managing to get the words out. Seth still felt like he couldn't breath. Seth started to hyperventilate. Seth's only blood related family in the world could not be dead. Seth's mom could not be dead. Seth dropped to floor. | |

| Mia had been Seth's only real family left. Kat couldn't blame him for being upset. She had lost her mom when she was eleven she knew how he felt. When he dropped to the floor, Kat crouched down with him holding him close to her. "It's going to be all right," she assured him. She promised him that. She wouldn't let him down. So running her fingers through his hair and holding him close, Kat felt the tears work up in her system. She rested her head on Seth's shoulder as they sat there. | |

| Seth only nodded. He didn't want to speak for he was afraid he would break down and start to cry. Seth could not cry. Seth let out a breath he didn't know he had been holding. Well, guess this means no free babysitting anymore. At least Seth's mom got to see Connor. Seth pulled away and leaned up against the wall, looking up at the ceiling. Sunlight started to peer through the shades. Seth swallowed down as sob as he heard crying coming from the hallway. Seth stood up shakily and walked to Connor's room, to find him awake, but no longer crying. Seth kinda looked at his son. Soon though, Seth sank to the floor and held his knees to his chest. Seth really didn't want Kat to see him cry. Seth buried his head in his legs and started to cry. | |

| The crying from the hallway started and Kat watched Seth get up and go to Connor's room. The crying ceased to nothing once Seth left the room bot soft cries continued through the apartment. Kat got up and walked into the hallway standing in front of the partially closed door to the baby's room. Kat swallowed but had nothing to say to Seth but pointless reasurings. She continued on towards the kitchen where she sat down at the table puting her head in her hands. | |

| Seth continued to cry, probably crying harder every time. Connor made a baby noise and Seth looked up. Connor was wide awake, his big brown eyes taking in everything. Seth smiled a bit as he choked down another sob. Seth stood up carefully and looked down at Connor. Reaching down, Seth picked up Connor gently, holding him close. Connor snuggled close to Seth, as if he could sense his dad. That made Seth a bit. Seth walked out of the baby's room and into the kitchen, where he say Kat. "The baby's up," Seth said, his voice thick. Seth could tell his eyes were red and puffy from crying. At this point, Seth really didn't care. | |

| Kat looked up as Seth walked in with Connor. She knit her eyebrows together and stood up. She moved to Seth wrapping her arms around his neck. She looked into his deep green eyes that were puffy from crying. He had been keeping it hidden. She told him, "It's okay to cry," softly. | |

| Seth just nodded because he knew that if he talked, he would probably cry again. Seth drifted his eyes back to Connor, who was making baby noises for attention. Seth smiled a bit. "It's fine, no more crying," Seth said, his voice still husky. Swallowing, Seth closed his eyes and tried his best not to cry again. But, Seth wasn't able to stop the few tears that rolled down his cheeks. Seth took a shaky breath, trying to settle himself. | |

| Kat nodded. She brought her hands to cup the back of Seth's neck and caught a few tears of his with her thumbs. She gave him a light reasuring smile that was probably the hardest thing she ever did. How was she supposed to be supportive in this? It had taken Kat five years to get over her mom's death, she remembered the day vividly. But it was ten years ago. Kat had no one to talk to when it happened. No one to reasure her that everything will be okay. Now, being in the oposite position, she was speechless. | |

| Seth nodded again, feeling Kat wipe away the tears that had fallen. Shouldn't this be the other way around? Seth just smiled at the thought. Connor whined a bit and Seth looked down at his son. "Sorry, " he mouthed to Connor smiling a bit. Looking back up, Seth leaned forward and kissed Kat on the lips quickly. Seth wanted to kiss Kat longer, but had to remember the baby in his arms. Pulling away, Seth walked to the fridge and pulled out a bottle for Connor that had already been made. Seth bunch his eyebrows together. "How do you do this?" Seth asked, totoally confused. At this point, Connor was starting to cry. | |

| Kat rolled her eyes and took the bottle from Seth. "I got it," she told him. "I'll teach you later. Go find someplace comfortable. It will take him forever to finish it. And yes, that means you're feeding him. Now go." she elbowed him away from the counter and set to work.[She smiled lightly to herself. The sun was fully up now. Now it was time to just take everything in and calm down. | |

| Seth rolled his eyes a bit. "Yeah, yeah," Seth told Kat grinning a bit. Seth went into their small living room and sat down on the couch. Cradling Connor, Seth looked down at him. Connor was still crying, probably hungry. Seth smiled a bit. "Relax kid, your mom is making your bottle," Seth told Connor, as if Connor could understand him. Connor's crying's eased a bit. | |

| Kat got the bottle to room tempature and then walked out into the living room. She plopped down next to Seth and handed him the bottle. She curled up her legs and leaned against his shoulder as he fed Connor. Connor's crying had stopped as soon as the bottle came into his tiny little mouth. Kat never had thought they could raise a family, the two of then together. She never believed they were cut out for the job. Now, she could see it clearly. The furture seemed bright and assuring. They just had to set a few things straight. | |

| Seth popped the bottle into Connor's mouth and soon Connor began to eat. Seth smiled for real this time, despite what had happened today. Seth leaned his head up against Kat's. "Now what?" Seth asked in a whisper. He really wasn't sure what to do with Connor. Newbrons just ate, sleep, and went to the bathroom in diapers. Seth watched with his green eyes as Connor drained the bottle. A smile appeared on Seth's face. 'What are you gonna do if he turns out just like me?" Seth asked Kat, laughing a bit. | |

| Kat glared at Seth. "He won't," she said flatly. "Because I'm raising him. But if he does, he wont last through highschool in this house." or wherever they ended up, Kat thought. She wondered if they would ever go back to camp. To show their children what kind of place they grew up in, or would telling them the truth put them in danger. Should they lie to them? Not tell them who their grandparents were, who their parents were? Kat stuck her hand out and let Connor's tiny fingers curl around her pointer finger. "He'll be fine." It was a statement meant to reasure herself but she meant it to be true also. | |

| Seth couldn't help but laugh a bit. "I'm not that bad. My mom raised me fine," Seth said, closing his eyes when Seth talked about his mom. Sighing, Seth lowered his head a bit with his closed eyes. Seth fought back tears. Gods, would Seth ever get over her death? Seth swallowed down another sob as he heard the sucking of air. Seth opened his eyes to find Connor finished with his bottle and playing with Kat's hand. | |
