Lost. Awesome. Maybe she didn't look as out of place as she thought, considering nobody called her and asked if she needed help. It was kind of a blessing, as she didn't want to explain how she had just barely managed to stumble into camp and had no idea where she was going or what cabin she would be sleeping in. She'd avoided talking to campers so far, hoping to find a counselor. If she was going to admit that she needed help figuring things out, it certainly wasn't going to be from just one of the kids. She'd ask someone who actually worked there and knew the place well. Someone who wouldn't tease her for being new.

She wandered aimlessly through the area, looking for an adult figure. Her eyes settled on a tall man with sandy blonde hair. He seemed to be looking down at some fruit. Maybe he was checking on them? Charlie saw him as a older boy, what, 18 or something? He looked old enough to be a counselor, right? She swallowed her pride and sucked in a courageous breath before bounding over, waving one arm in the air. "Excuse me! H-hey! Hi. Could you help me out a little?"

Charlie smiled from ear to ear. This guy seemed welcoming enough. "Hi! Glad I finally found someone. I'm kind of new here..." She said sheepishly, her cheeks turning a light shade of red. Find the words, find the right words Charlie! Why was asking for help always so hard? "Uhm, I kind of... Have absolutely no idea what I'm doing?" Wow, great wording. She'd kick herself for that later.

She shifted her weight to her other leg, then back to the first, avoiding the boy's eyes. "Mind, uhm.. I don't know. Showing me around or something? Or at least telling me where I can wash my clothes? It was a long trip getting here, and I'm kind of gross now." Wow, wasn't that smooth. Hi, I don't have a name. I'm gross and smelly and don't shower. Let me stalk you around? Great conversation.

She decided it might help her case if she gave up a little information about herself. "I'm Charlie. A wood nymph, er, that's what she said she was at least, told me to come here. So I did. It took a while though, and it was kind of incredibly tiring. Also, I didn't really come across any washing machines, so... I think think you probably catch my drift. Anyway, help?" She looked up to him half hopeful and half desperate, even though her original plan was to come off as really smooth and nonchalant.

Rory, huh? Aren't counselors supposed to be misses or mister something? Maybe he was one of those laid-back teachers that didn't care if you called him by his first name. She gave a slightly nod. "...Right, Rory. Okay, well, I'm going to go throw my stuff in the wash and then I guess--" She cut herself off and blinked. If she threw her clothes in the wash...what would she wear? The counselors probably wouldn't appreciate if she went bounding around camp in the nude. "I-is there a camp store? Or somewhere I could pick up another pair of clothes?" What an awkward question. Charlie wasn't very good at this, was she?

Nervously she started playing with a loose string of dark hair from her bangs."You know, this is a pretty huge place. Would you be able to... I don't know, accompany me? If that's not too much trouble, of course. And tell me which cabin is the Hermes cabin. Who was he, anyways? She racked her brain for the characters of Greece that she learned about in school a few years earlier. Well, she didn't really learn...She kind of just stared out the window the whole time. Looking about on it, that probably wasn't a good idea. But who would've thought she'd ever have to know the stuff? Zeus... Poseidon, he was the king of tuna, right? Or was it ponds? Something with water. There was Hercules and Sleeping Beauty, wait... That's not right.

It was almost offensive how little she knew. And if these campers were all children of the greek gods, it would probably anger them if she insulted any with her lack of knowledge. Rory would protect her, right? He was a counselor so of course he'd have to! ...Right?

Phil liked the fields for many reasons, one was that it was often quite. Today however it was noisy, campers milled about picking berries, chatting about useless nonsense and some even made out. The grandson of Demeter was not happy that his sanctuary was becoming the camps make-out spot and so he had unleashed his powers onto the foolish children. The bushes had grown extremely tall and wild looking. If it had been an animal phil would have described it as feral. 

Now with his powers slightly  diminished he sat staring up at it. He cursed, knowing his powers it would take a awhile for this to shrink, if it survived the unaided regression it would be a merricle. Phil sighed and pulled out his sickle "sorry luv." He hated having to murder this poor plant, but a quick death was better than a slow painful one.
Off in the distance he heard campers talking but the screams of the feral bush drowned out most of the conversation.

Charlie paled. Look...for...a counselor...? Well then. She stuttered nervously, somewhat dumbfounded. "Uhhh... Well, funny thing is, I kind of thought you were a counselor. You looked tall and mature and--" She cut herself off, looking to her side when she heard some strange crying noise. The noise didn't seem... quite human. Did the goat-men cry? Or scream? Vicious, over-grown plants seemed to be howling in pain, Charlie noted. She saw a figure swiping at them with some sort of weapon... A scythe, she soon figured out, and her eyes widened. She quickly forgot about what she was doing, and acted without thinking. "Come on!" Charlie grabbed Rory's wrist and ran towards the guy fighting plants to figure out what was going on and to see if she could help. Her heart beat sped up as she closed in on the boy and the demonic plants. This was something she honestly couldn't say she's seen before. But that's what happens when you go to camp with demigods, she guessed.

Strawberries the size of baseballs were scattered around Phil. The feral bush had been fighting back after his first swipe at it. His bronze sickle had just finished slicing through the vicious plant when two campers ran over to him. He attached the sickle to his tool belt and looked about, this bounty of fruit might appease his grandmother. 

Phil turned to face the new arrivals, he didn't know who they were and he didn't really care. " I hope it wasn't the two of you I heard playing 'doctor' earlier when I made this poor beast" he said wiping the sweat from his brow. Truly he had no time to argue about morals and decency and all the rest, the fruit needed to be brought back to the camp. Philomelus pointed to the large white buckets at the end of the lane. "grab a bucket and lend me a hand, I think we have about twenty or thirty pounds of fruit here" he said tiredly to the pair.  

"Oh..." Charlie muttered, slightly confused. Alright, guess she didn't have to help save the day from giant man-eating plants. That was a little disappointing.

Then she laughed out loud when the boy said something about playing doctor. "W-what?!" She clutched her stomach and nearly doubled over in laughter, her hyena laugh making its first debut at Camp Half Blood. Anyone who heard it tended to think it was adorable, hilarious, or obnoxious.

"S-sorry. What?" Charlie glanced over at the buckets in the distance. "Oh, yeah, sure." Helping out was the least she could do, being a new arrival and all. She'd probably be bugging these poor guys for the next week while trying to get everything figured out. "So, are you a counselor here, or...?" She glanced back and Rory, hoping he'd pitch into the conversation as well so things wouldn't get awkward.

"Oh." Charlie blushed again and half-smiled, letting out a soft chuckle. "You're really tall, so when I saw you in the distance, I thought you were. Sorry for barraging you with so many questions, then." She grabbed her own bucket and started collecting the strawberries scattered across the field, being careful not to step on too many of them. They were plump and sweet, and smelled delightful. Charlie picked one up, examined it, and then glanced back at Rory. He seemed to be more focused on picking them up than on her, so she took the opportunity to sneak to strawberry into her mouth. She was right, the strawberry was delicious.

Phil grabbed two buckets and placed the baseball sized strawberries into them. The girl had to be new to the camp, mistaking a tall boy for Mr. D or Chiron was something only a newbie did. While he silently collected fruit he wondered who's son the boy was, Apollo perhaps? Had he seen the guy before, maybe though with all the kids showing up lately he couldn't really recall. 

He shook his head as the girl managed to fit a golf ball sized strawberry into her mouth. "you must be hungry if you'll just eat a mutated fruit off the ground" he remarked glancing over at her. He could tell by her general appearance that she was indeed a new arrival. Frowning he wondered why the guy with her had not shown her to the bath house. Though there was nothing wrong with the dirt and grime, being from the chthonic branch of the gods Phil was used to it. He knew however most females demanded a hot bath or shower, it was a girl thing he supposed and he never questioned it.

Charlie shrugged, chewing the strawberry slowly. He was right, it was rather big. But she had been afraid he'd be mad if he caught her so she shoved the giant thing in all at once. She chewed as she collected berries, until her bucket was full and her mouth was empty. "Eh, mutated or not, delicious is delicious. So what kind of horrible chemicals did I just eat? I've never seen strawberries that big before, and there's no way that just so naturally huge."

While waiting for an answer she watched Rory limp to move his bucket to the other guy. It was the first time she'd noticed she was limping, and she glanced away on instinct and out of courtesy when he began adjusting his leg brace--something else she hadn't noticed until just then. How'd he end up like that? Maybe he was born that way. She decided it would be incredibly rude to ask, so she kept the thoughts to herself. "My buckets is full, too. Now what?"

Phil massaged the back of his neck, he didn't know how they would transport this large amount back to the mess hall. Walking with it would take awhile and with the boys ankle in a brace it was not ideal. Phil would need to get a cart for the four large buckets, though where he would find one was another question entirely. He shrugged, thinking it better for these two to head back to camp. 

"well you two look like you should head back to camp, I can think up a way to get these back to the mess hall" phil said looking at the buckets thoughtfully. Two trips at least unless he enlisted the aid of another camper. " I'll come with you two, make sure you get back alright and then I'll come back and grab the other buckets" Phil said lifting the two heaviest buckets while the other two were wrapped tightly in vines. He looked at them and nodded to the path to camp. He chuckled as he remembered the girls question "don't worry about growing a third arm or anything, I just spent a lot of my half-blood juice on that bush"

Charlie frowned and watched as Phil heaved the buckets off the ground. "Well, I can take... Maybe not two, but at least one bucket..." She pulled gently at the vines. "You know, since I'll be going towards the center of camp anyway. Well, at least, I think that's where I'm going." She shrugged and smiled. So at this point she had...two possible allies. Maybe. Rory seemed pretty open, the other guy not so much. Wait, the other guy? Why was she still calling him the other guy, anyway? "So, uh... What's your name?"

Phil blinked and set down the buckets he was holding. He watched as the boy ran off towards the camp, the fool could very well worsen his existing injury. While the guy was running off the girl was asking questions. He realized that they had not exchanged names when they first met and if they had neither of them seemed to remember. "Philomelus Greene, but you can call me Phil" he replied. He looked at her and smiled lazily, what an afternoon this had been. "And you are ?" he asked curiously

"Charlie. Charlie Henderson. Nice to meet you! And that guy who just ran off, that was Rory. You might already know him... I just met him not too long ago. Kind of mistook him for a counselor." She let out a content giggle and glanced up at him with eyes that were a gentle swirling mix of gray and blue. "You're not a counselor, are you? I'm new here." She placed the bucket on the ground adjacent to Phil's and stood back up, letting out a sigh, before half-smiling to show that she was okay. Considering how small she was, the bucket was heavy. She wanted to help, and would insist upon doing so, but that didn't mean the job was easy. The bucket was seemed like it was a quarter of the size she was. But that only meant a challenge, and challenges were something that Charlie could almost never deny. "How long have you been here?"

Phil shrugged he had probably seen Rory around, though he doubted they had ever exchanged pleasantries. "going on six years now" he mused picking up a strawberry so he could take a bite out of it. He sighed, food hit the spot and resorted his energy. Using his slightly restored power he made the bushes bend to make cushions for them.

Taking a seat he shrugged, was he going to be a Counsellor. He was not sure, so far as he knew once his 'fathers' cabin was built he would be the only one in it. Maybe in time he would have that title but right now he wasn't. "No not a counsellor" he said before taking another bite out of the huge strawberry. Someone was heading towards them, a girl.

Phil sighed as she asked a typical question, what was up indeed. He gestured to the other bucket of oversized strawberries. "you must be what Rory ran after" he stated simply. He wondered if she would be able to make it back to camp with that bucket. "Yeah I suppose we could use a hand" he said tiredly
