The Rip Opens (Private!)

The air wavered in the centre of the Cabin Courtyard. Suddenly, a blast of energy knocked everyone in the area on the floor, and when they got back up, there was a crack, not on the floor, but in time and space. It was glowing red, and was starting to open, getting wider and taller every second. Suddenly, a lightning bolt came out of it and struck the big house, the attic to be exact. If anyone was up there they would have seen the lightning bolt hit the Oracle herself, causing her eyes to glow green, ready to give the prophecy to the one destined to hear it.

Flare blinks slightly out of shock mainly not that blinking was of any use to her, she managed to push herself from the floor. Flare looked about, having recently gotten back from her trip to NYC sporting a new backpack, she quickly hid the hunters horn she had inside the bag, before anyone realy noticed. Flare lets out a small sigh, covering her ears at the loud crackling sounds in the area"wow don't hear this every day!"

I approached the rip, trying to get a good look at it before another bolt of lightning came out, striking me in the chest and sending me flying backwards. "No, you don't." I groaned, getting up slowly. I saw a glow coming from the attic, and then saw two of my half-siblings approaching.

Zinnia Melion hadn't had the best time of her day. And it wasn't even 5 o'clock in the evening yet. she guessed, she jusst haven't gotten anything worthy of doing, actually.

Zin walked out of cabin 2, as usual, with her hair pulled back and wore an old white shirt, denim jeans and sneakers, when it happened. Well, she didn't know how to describe it, but she was hoping for at least some adventure to erupt somewhere, and she'll at least take part. Not that she'd want anything life threatening or even something despicable to happen, no way! Who'd want that? But, well, she really wasn't thinking back then.

After kicking her feet up, for an after lunch siesta in her room, Zin wandered about in the old cabin courtyard when it happen. And still, she didn't know if it were a good thing or not. Thrown to the ground, like an old washed up rag doll, Zin flew back, and hit her head on the trunk of a tree. Ouch! That should hurt. The sudden blast of energy shook her easily off her small feet, and she felt her ears ringing. Zin had her eyes heavy, and she forced them open, seeing the blurry and spinning world. Well, at least she had her wish.

Groggy and feeling like a beaten up banana, Zin stood shakily on her feet, and shook her head, having held on to the low haning branches of the tree for support. Gods, this wasn't exactly a walk in the park she imagined after stepping out of her cabin this day. As she stood, she saw a fellow camper being thrown back away from something, and that something wasn't exactly what she thought it to be. A large gapping hole, that was sort of flying in the air was there, and Zin hadn't gotten the time to look at it, rushing down to the other camper. But surely, if she had time to look back, she wouldn't believe it. "Hey you alright?"

Lily had already been in the courtyard to watch the crack open, and then hurtle lightning bolts at some of the campers. Luckily for her, she wasn't one of the one's on the whole's mind, so it calmly left her alone, or just missed.

When she heard someone fall back, Lily turned to find Tre, her half-brother, on the ground. She ran over to him, and met her twin, Zin, there too, and said, "Guys, what's going on? I've never seen some thing like this before!"

"I'm fine." I said to Zinnia, before turning to Lily. "Unfortunately, I have. It's a rip in the fabric of time and space, and the last time one was opened our dad had to come to close it, but it wasn't nearly as big as this one." I said, taking a closer look at the rip. "I'm not even sure Chaos could close it now..."

Flare blinks slightly moving forward towards the group, she shrugged slightly "I don't know what that thing looks like but it sounds very bad." Flare's ears twitched ever so slightly shifting her feet about beneath her as she usually did when nervous, she let out a small sigh. Flare folded her arms "well then does anyone have any suggestions?"

"I guess we could call my dad..." I said, before noticing a strange glow in the attic. "Can you guys handle that? I've got to see something..." I quickly stated before running in the direction of the Big House.

Zin didn't want to call their dad. Nor did she ever wanted to be somewhere near the rip thing. All she wanted to do was get over the fact that there's a huge hole in the fabric in time and space that needs to get fixed. And, with three Chaos kids, that would probably be a huge upper hand, on the same time something only suicidal campers would ever try to do. so, instead of sprinting to the big house with those campers, she stood back and watched the large hole. ”Uh, guys, just inform me. I'm gonna stay and watch this, and even try to get others away from it.”[/color]

Zin didn't know how exactly she should do that. But, she knew, she needed to be the mature one and prevent others from getting too curious. Since she's the cabin leader, she had to be responsible for most. "Just go!"

Lily didn't want to leave her sister behind. After all, they had just reunited a few months ago, and she wasn't going to loose her again. "I'm staying. Tre, go!"

Flare had her back turned to the pair but was clearly listening to them, she would normally face the pair but today perhaps she was just trying to be slightly amusing. Flare let out a small sigh scratching at her side tapping her foot against the grass below "well I don't realy know what to do." Flare shakes her head slihgtly tightening the straps on her backpack bringing it further up her back, then loosening them again letting her backpack fall a little further down her back.

I shakily approached the area, steering clear of the rip. "It was the Oracle." I said, calming down as I got nearer to my half-siblings. "She gave me a prophecy. She said:
A rip in time will send four back
To different era and different attack
Two daughters of void, a daughter of beauty
And last a son of Chaos, who will kill to do his duty
They will return to the beginning, where it's dark and cold
Waiting for life to age and grow old..." I repeated, replaying the memory in my mind, which unfortunately wasn't hard. "What do you think it means?" I asked.

"Well if ya ask me..........it means were going have to go back in time and touch nothing." Flare says a small smirk upon her face, her back to the group "I mean seriously what does she want us to do in the past........we can't do anything without destroying the present as we no it...........I mean hasn't the oracle even seen back to the future?" Flare grins shifting her position so that she was facing the genral direction of the group "I myself am just glad to go on a quest..........that daughter of beuty part was obviously about me.........I mean no offense to you two." Flare says gesturing to where she thought the girls were "I mean I don't know what you look like so I dunno what I'm saying.............but i is the oracles word.......so I say let's go for it who knows what kind of dangers we'll find back there."

"And it seems that I would be the son of Chaos, and you two would be the two 'daughters of void'." I said to Zinnia and Lily. "And from what I understand, we're going to be doing some battling." I said, putting my gauntlet on my wrist. "I say we go for it." I said, getting a little closer to the glowing rip.

Now wait a minute. All Zin's mind was regestering, was the fact that there's this thing in front of her, and the next thing she knew, there was this quest to the start of time! This wasn't what she could say for an actually 'normal' day at camp. In fact, this was an extraordinary day. A quest? Again? She barely survived the last time! and now, she's dragging Lily into this mess? Well, this isn't going so good, saving the world or not. She, being adventorous, would say yes, any day. But really, Lily? ”I don't know. You're involving my sister with it.”

Zin clenched and unclenched her fists by her side. This was a hard gamble. Besides, wouldn't they be mentioned in the prophecy? Why does this dude, which she knew as a half-sibling, but never knew at all besides that, have the upper hand and be specifically mentioned? It isn't fair. This is favoritism. But anyway, she wasn't getting off topic. Angry and mad, Zin faced her half sibling. "You're telling us, that we-the two not specifically mentioned, nor was ever known to be the two others, will have to risk our butts for you and a battle? Am I correct?" Zin said, crossing her hands in front of her. She was gonna back out. Soon maybe. But then again, there was this other girl.

clearly a daughter of Aphrodite, Zin hadn't taken much notice of her until now. With her careless words that weren't exactly ment as an insult, Zin was insulted. She? A child of beauty, even though she haven't even seen them? LILY would be prettier, not that Zin took notice of her own petite reflection. She was too busy living to do that. But, Zin had her blood curl as the other gurl drawled her words out of her mouth, as if her pretty little self couldn't careless of getting killed or depicated. If she wanted to get slaughtered for hellhound dinner, fine by her. But no one was involving them.

But, something on the other's prescence made a chill ran down her spine. Some sort of challenge, is it? Challenge that is whispering insults at her ear, challenging her for the risk. Zin shook her head vigarously. This was tough. A tough choice. And who was to make them, but of course, the tough one? "I don't know. This is bad. I could feel it. I feel evil in there, and I've been through a lot. I'm not risking Lily, but someone does have to go in there to stop it. Even if it means to," Zin gulped down the terror and masked her face emotionlessly, "die."

Listening to her sister, Lily only stared at the rip. Her blue eyes studied it intentively, but you could also the gears in her head working. Back in time? To what time? The dinosuars? The civil war? World War II? WWII was when Zin and she was born, and it would be awfully mind boggoling to see yourself as a child again.

Though, the question was, how did this happen? Lily, through twintelepathy, could hear her sister's thoughts. Favortism, was it? Possibly. It's not that Lily cared about her father, but she never thought of him as one. Her step-father was the one she cared about, not Chaos. However, when there's a huge rip in time and space, things need to get done, whether it's for some god or not. This was her first quest, and she wasn't going to back down.

Lily ran for the rip, as stupid as it was, or possibly even brave. Soon, she was inside, and only fate could tell what would happen.

Flare's ears twitched she heard running feet an then what sounded like a sizzling pan, she shrugged slightly, humming softly. "Well since she's going no doubt the ahem other person willbe going, the larger one I mean........you know the one who sounds like she has a pole up her backside." Flare giggled musicly before securing a firm grip on her cane, she rushed forward into the rip following behind the other girl.

Zin caught herself in mid ranting as she saw her sister leap into the death hole. "LILY!"[color=white]Zin yelled. She gave off one glare to her stupid 'supposedly' little brother, and followed in their trail. Zin gave off one panting breath, one parting glance to sweet old camp and bounded twice, jumping on her heels to gain enough momentum, and jumped in. Zin gasped as her head popped inside the pit, and waited for something to happen. She closed her eyes, dearly hoping this wasn't a trap that could get us killed, but an experience to have for the better. Zin never opened her eyes one bit, even as the cold chill brushed her arms, and steadily, she waited. For wht, it was only a matter of the fates to look at.

I saw everyone else jump into the rip, so logically I jumped in behind them, surprised at how willing they were. I heard a sizzle and I saw the three of them floating in mid-air. "Guys! I found a way out!" I shouted looking at a tiny fracture in the area, except this one was glowing a low shade of blue. "Come on!" I said, opening it and sliding through. I didn't know what I expected, but I was shocked at what I saw. It was New York City, but not from the year we left. I knew this because of one thing, the World Trade Center standing tall and proud. I saw a convenience store nearby, so I ran to it and checked the date on a newspaper. I sighed, and walked over to Zinnia, Lily and Flare. "I know wher- I mean when we are." I said, before showing them the newspaper. "The 8th of September, 2001. 9/11 is tomorrow..."

Zin was dumfound. No, not because she landed in the dirt, she's done that a lot already, but because she thought they'd ended up in the other end of, well, a sheep? She didn't know. Only, she knew it was supposed to be ending bad. but it didn't. They were at Manhattan. This was exactly what she saw when she wandered around. That was the time she got lost in the big city, after years in the hotel. It was the same place...only not the same building? As much as she knew, which was supposedly a lot, Zin couldn't remember the two tall buildings. That wasn't exactly the present time, as she could tell. Zin looked at the others quite puzzeled. ” Uh, where? And what's up if it's September 8 of 2001? anything worth noticing?”

"Well, not really. That is, of course, if you don't consider four terrorist attacks on the USA, two of which will happen here, tomorrow, when two planes crash into the World Trade Center. The other two will crash into the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania." I said, shaking a little bit. I knew we weren't supposed to mess with anything, but maybe we could help. " We have to try and help them!" I said, running off towards the twin towers.

Flare's ears twitched as she heard Tre run off, she ran past catching u to him, she stepped out before the boy forcing her cane into his stomach. Flare shook her head slightly "first off you can't that would upsdet present Hades a lot.........second it happens tommorow if you go about saying the attack is coming no one will listen because yout a kid." Flare let out a small sigh "your intentions are good and I agree with them but we have to wait we have to be patient before we act we still have no idea why were here......where were gonna sleep or wher were gonna get food.......ford the gods sake boy do use your head!"

"No! What do you think you're doing? You'll ruin everything!" Lily shouted at Tre, mocking his stupidity. She had never done that before, and was a shock to everyone she knew, especially her sister, to see her do some thing like that. She was always the innocent one, the one that showed mercy, the one that picked flowers in fields because that's all she knew; the one that trained whenever she could only to protect herself, and not to become the greatest hero that ever lived.

Why was she even on this quest? To save the world, of course. But why couldn't someone else take her place? It's a little too late to be thinking about this now, as she was the first one to jump through the rip without hesitation, which was also a suprise to her twin, Zinnia.

"If you mess with the past, the whole future could be ruined! It's common sense, Tre! Things happen for a reason!"

"Tell me this." I said, getting back up off the ground "What lengths would you go to, what would you do to save the only family you had left?" I asked. "My mom's brother was in the towers when they fell." I said, glaring at all three of them, but a hint of sadness still was visible in my eyes. "We're leaving, and now." I said, walking towards the tower again. Once I got there, I took an elevator straight to the top, and saw exactly what I expected. There was a small crack similar to the one we came through. I walked up to it, touched it with my hand and got pulled inside. While in there I waited for the others.
