I blow the hair out of my face. "I'm fine." I say, not taking his hand. "I can stand up on my own." And I did. I didn't need anyone's help when it comes to the simple things in life.

Mark took a step away from her. "S-sorry... I was just trying to be nice..." His face flushed, and he kicked at the ground.

((OOC: Mark's fatal flaw is to beat himself up over things, whether they were his fault or not. this shows up a lot in everyday life, like right now.))

I stood up. "I'm fine." I told him. "I just tripped. It's not like I plan on dying, or nothing." I said. "Look, I'm not bleeding to death."

I nodded, and began to bounce the ball, besides the fact that I had just tripped. I used me left, right, left hand. Then, I when and snaked around Mark, only for him to steal the ball from me seconds later.

Mark kept a close look on Candy this time. He snatched the ball as she moved past, and dribbled the ball down to the hoop. A little ways away, he jumped, preparing to slam dunk. "YEAH!"

I gave a sigh. "Your much better than I am." I said. "Like, much better. As in 10X better." I told him.

Mark blushed. "Th-thanks. I'm Mr Sporty guy though. You're really good for someone who's only watched before!" He smiled.

I gave a shrug. "There wasn't much for me to do back home. So, when my dad was...er...out, I'd watch other people play basketball and other stuff." I told him. "But, I'm really not all that good."

I smile, wich is rare for me. "Yea, I guess so." I can feel my cheaks turning red. Blushing? Now that, was deffinetally a new to me. "Look! Your making me blush, stop it with the compliments!!" I said. This was deffinetaly not me. Being complimented, blushing. I shutterd at the thought of it.

I feel my cheaks burning again. I hated it, the feeling, everything. It wasn't me. Wasn't who I was. "I'm sorry, I don't know what's gotten into me." I try to hide my face. I was so emberassed, but being emberassed just made my cheaks burn red even more.

I try and smile. "Sorry. I didn't mean to...freak out like that." I told him. I can feel my cheaks still burning, but I try to ignor it. Then, I notice Mark's hand on my back. I don't say anything, but it makes me feel slightly uncomphoratlbe.

Mark pulled his hand away, still smiling. "It's OK. We get lotsa people here who've had it hard out there, and that can make it hard for them to accept the friendship they find here."

I give Mark a puzzled look. He sounded so...smart. "Uhh...." I wasn't sure what to say to that. "Ok? I guess?" That wasn't something that I had been ready for.

Mark suddenly looked down, blushing and said, "But I wouldn't really... know about that..." He felt a little bit ashamed about grandstanding like that. He really had gotten quite lucky.

There were several secends of a awkward silence, and that's when I made my move. I bounced the basketball around him and made a shot while Mark was in the middle of a thought. "Never let your guard down" I told him, smiling.
