"So I'm a little hyper. Get over it!"
Kimmy sat in the middle of the strawberry field with a small basket. Inside were plump juicy strawberries only for her. After collecting her desired amount Kimmy thought hard. "Purple!" she commanded the berries. Soon every single berry in the basket was purple. Kimmy smiled and popped one into her mouth. The berries didn't taste any different and she needed to practice her magic.

Bram had been on his way to the arena, but he decided to go on a little detour. He instead turned towards the strawberry fields, secretly hoping no one was there. Not a lot of people usually were there, except for the occasional children of Dionysus or Satyrs. However, Bram found himself disappointed when he discovered there was already another girl there.

Bram was just about to turn back and walk away, when he saw the girl turn a small handful of strawberries purple. Bram had been at the camp for a while now, so he was used to such events, but he couldn't help walking back towards the girl, plopping down beside her at the middle of the strawberry hill. Bram was never the one to start a conversation, but there was always a first to everything. "Hey," he said quietly to the girl, with a small smile.

Kimmy looked up at the boy with her eyes a dark shade of blue. "Hello. I'm Kimmy, Kimmy Clark. Daughter of Hecate." she said with a smile. Kimmy twirled her hair in her pony watching the red flashes come and go. She turned the berries back to their original color. "Want one? I didn't do anything with them I promise!" Kimmy said offering the basket to the boy.

Bram nodded with understanding once the girl he now knew as Kimmy, explained her heritage.
"Bram Burns, Son of Khione," Bram said smoothly. He raised an eyebrow when the girl offered him some berries, especially since they had been a rather lovely shade of purple just seconds ago.
Bram hesitated then said with a lopsided smile,"Actually, I think I would like them better purple."

Kimmy smiled a little and changed them back purple. "Okay here you go. Purple as ever." she said setting the basket at Bram's feet. Kimmy set her hands to the back of her and seated herself more upright. "So what are you doing out here?" she asked turning her eyes back to Bram.

"Thanks," Bram said with a chuckle. He held a berry in his hands, marveling at it's ripe, purple surface. Curiously, Bram took a small cautious bite out of the strawberry, and with a grin popped the rest of it into his mouth. "Yum," he said while licking his lips, still grinning.

"Why shouldn't I be here?" Bram asked, amused.

Kimmy frowned to herself. "I never said you shouldn't be here. I was making conversation." she said slightly annoyed. He was joking gosh, chill Kimmy thought to herself.

"Well, it seems like you don't want me here," Bram said, still joking. Bram didn't know what he was doing. He should probably apologize to the girl who looked annoyed, but for what? It wasn't like he did anything wrong.
Bram sighed to himself. Perhaps it was a mistake on his part to come here in the first place. Perhaps he should've gone with his usual route to the Arena. But then again, maybe Bram had done something wrong without knowing it--you never knew what was going on with girls.

Kimmy shook her head. "No, no, no! I didn't mean that. If anything I want you here. I like talking to people! And your really cute..." she admitted. Kimmy blushed crimson and covered her mouth. Smooth Kimmy, smooth. she thought.

Bram smiled at Kimmy's little slip up, but tried not to show it. He didn't want to embarrass the girl. However, that didn't stop him from teasing her just a little.
"How nice of you to say that," Bram said, teasingly. And just so the girl wouldn't feel too embarrassed-- no, a guy never would never want to deal with a flustered girl. It may be cute at times, but extremely, almost painfully awkward.
"But if it makes you feel better, I personally think you're cuter," Bram said, toning down a bit on the teasing tone in his voice.

Kimmy smiled brightly. "Thanks." she replied simply. "So where did you grow up?" Kimmy asked smiling. "I grew up in New Orleans. See?" she said creating an image of her home in her palms. "I miss it..." Kimmy added.

"New Orleans, huh?" Bram asked, trying to imagine what that would be like. He had never been there before, but naturally, heard a lot about it. "I grew up in New York," Bram said.
Bram peered down into Kimmy's hand, staring at the picture. "Wow," Bram said. "You're really lucky to have lived there."
Bram had never traveled much, and hadn't been out of New York that often. He always daydreamed about traveling to other places, and loved it when other people told stories about other fascinating places.

Kimmy smiled. "I suppose, one of my siblings, Mini, made friends with the gypsies and shadowmen there. My father never allowed me far from the house. New York sounds so different. I would love to travel." she said smiling. Kimmy took one strawberry from the basket. "How long have you been in camp Bram?" she asked looking down at the image in her hands.

Bram started to wonder what Kimmy's life must have been like. To befriend gypsies and shadowmen, living in New Orleans...
"Wow," Bram said again, not having much else to say. "I've been around for an year or so," Bram said with a shrug. "How about you?"

Kimmy sighed, "Oh.. two ,three days." she replied making the image vanish. "I had to leave my new baby sister, or step sister. I haven't seen them since they sent me on that plane. My dad was to afraid to take me here. At least I made it here alive." Kimmy explained sadly. She reached over and took a handful of strawberries and popped them into her mouth.

"Really?" Bram asked, surprised. He just assumed that Kimmy had been around camp for quiet a while, also. It wasn't like he had seen her around before--it just seemed like she was such at ease, especially with all the magic and demigod thing. Bram remembered when he had first arrived at camp, he was going mental.
"Oh...," Bram said, loss at words. "I..I know this won't exactly make you feel better," Bram said nervously, hoping Kimmy wouldn't take this the wrong way. "But some people here have the much worse end of the stick. Some of them don't even have any family left, or their on some really bad terms with the ones they have."
Bram knew that it must've been hard on Kimmy, but what he said was also true. There were other people at the camp who had to go through much more. You could even go as far as saying Kimmy was one of the lucky ones.

Kimmy nodded. "I know. I still miss them either way. I never imagined that my mother was a goddess. My dad said she just left one day. Kind of sad to leave a guy with a 2 day old daughter. Then he married my step-mom." she said looking down at her side. "Sorry I'm going on and on. It's probally annoying." Kimmy said looking apologetically at Bram.

"Don't worry about it," Bram said kindly, knowing from experience that it was better to let things out rather than keep it all bundled inside of you. Actually, Kimmy was one of the few that was holding out quite well, keeping herself calm and collected.
"And I know you miss your family back at home, but don't forget--all of us here at camp, we're your family too," Bram said reassuringly. And as if to prove his point, he put an arm around Kimmy, hoping it would at least make her feel better and more at home.

Kimmy smiled brightly. "I'll keep that in mind." she said quietly. Kimmy sighed to herself and realized how warm it was outside. "Gah it's so hot out today. One thing I hated about my home, the heat." she explained.

Bram smiled and nodded, completely agreeing with Kimmy about the hot, hot, and hotter weather. "I hate Summer," Bram said. "I mean, I guess it's natural--you know, being a child of Khione and all."
Bram always disliked any kind of heat, and tended to stay at his always cool Cabin in the summer, or at the Arena where his mind and body was too busy to even process the heat.

Kimmy simply nodded. "Yeah. Sometimes I wish Hecate wasn't my godly parent. She is said to be on Kronos's side. I could never be on his side." she said sneering at the mention of the Kronos army.

Bram nodded in understanding at Kimmy's words. After a long year at camp, he had learned what exactly the Kronos army was up to, and what the Camp demigods were up against. Though it was hard to admit, there had been several backstabbers who betrayed the camp, but other than them, almost every camper had a great burning passion of hate towards the Kronos Army.
"Don't worry about it," Bram said to Kimmy softly. "It doesn't matter which side your parent is on, as long as your in the right one."

Kimmy nodded in agreement. "True that..." she replied simply. Kimmy sighed as the sun kept beating down on her skin. She summoned two water bottles to her hands. "Want one? Ice cold." Kimmy asked setting the other water bottle by Bram. She took several long sips before setting the it back down.

Bram was surprised when Kimmy was able to summon water bottles. He knew that she was a daugther of Hecate, but the sudden magic still surprised him.
"Ice cold, the way I like it," Bram said cheerfully, and took one of the water bottles. He took a long sip, grateful for the burst of cold water.

Kimmy nodded and replied, "Me too." She wanted to start the conversation back up, but didn't know how. Usually she was the first to speak, and would speak the longest. Now however, Kimmy was lost. The only time she ever got lost in a conversation was if she wanted to impress someone. Did she want to impress Bram? Did she like him?
