Jimmy Lance was eating lunch. Above, the sky was a clear blue, no clouds. No nothing. Just the blue and the sun.

J.J. was tired. The night before he had fallen down a hole while chasing a mouse. The mouse was now in his shirt, eating little bits of food being given to him to J.J. The mouse didn't say a word. Neither did J.J. to the mouse. Mickey was to remain secret to everyone, except Mia, until he knew he was allowed at the dinner table.

Jimmy was a six year-old on a mission. His target: the guy who led them into dinner and stuff.

After a few speeches and stuff, cabins started leaving the tables. The six year-old ran over to the guy who led them into dinner at stuff, and said, "Excuse me? I'm J.J.!"

He was wearing his best clothes for this occasion: the same clothes he wore pretty much every other day.

Hale was busy shoving his food into his mouth. It was past time he was allowed to be eating, and Hale was obviously a major procrastinator. I mean, who was still eating their food, when they ran the risk of being eaten my harpies? Only the "fearless" Apollo Co-Cabin Leader, Hale Joseph Drem.

Upon hearing the young boy's voice, Hale turned to face him. "Hey kid!" Hale welcomed, waving happily. The boy's cheeks were stuffed with food, and Hale strongly resembled a chipmunk. While it wasn't professional, it was Hale.

"Hi!" J.J. replied. He didn't know how to say what he wanted to ask. So, he started in a super fast, barely understandable voice, "Iwasatthebeachsndthenthebeachwasameanypooanditkilledmysandcastle
butiheardvoicesandthenonegoteatenandifollowedtheotheroneandfelldown
aholeandmetMickeyandhecantalkandicantalktohim!" he took a breath, before continuing, "Can I keep him?"

Mickey helpfully popped out of J.J.'s shirt.

Hale listened closely, his head hurting from piecing together what his brother had just said. Hale had never been good with words. That's why it took him a while to sing a song with the pitch he was born with. The story reminded him of Truckee, somehow. Truckee hadn't been just found on the beach, but before he arrived at the pet store, he had been found stuck in a ditch.

"Sure thing, kiddo. You can keep you're pet," Hale replied with a chuckle as the mouse popped out of JJ's shirt. "I have a dog. His name's Truckee." As if on que, the Cabin Leader's dog came trotting into the Mess Hall. Everyone knew Truckee, and so he had become quite smitten when walking in large crowds. The puppy was almost as popular as Hale himself, because of his flamboyant attitude and happy-go-lucky charm.

Barking quietly, Truckee had grown a lot since Hale had first gotten him back in April. Now, Truckee was almost full grown, with a face that still looked young and innocent. Leaping onto the spot next to his master, Truckee turned to face J.J. and Mickey. Upon seeing the mouse, Truckee growled softly, but Hale grabbed the dog's collar. "Easy boy," Hale warned.

OOC: Trying out a new font for me :3
But will it be readable? Find out, when I post it.

IC:

"YAY! Now I can build Mickey a HOUSE! A mouse house! On my bunk, and it will be FUN!"

Mickey attempted to shrink a little when the dog came, but J.J. clapped his hands in delight. "COOL DOG! Hi Truckee!" J.J. said to the dog, before saying to Hale, "Can I please pat him?" as that was one of the only things he had been taught at school that he remembered, mostly because his teacher had brought a puppy in for the occasion, so he knew ALWAYS to ask the owner before patting a dog, and exactly how to pat a dog you just met.

As Truckee stared quizzically at J.J., Hale smiled. Everyone knew Truckee would only get mad if you didn't pet him, but this kid was young. Hale took J.J.'s hand, and moved it to Truckee's nose. Truckee sniffed the boy, then, smelling the familiar Apollo scent on him, licked the boy's hand affectionately. The lab puppy wasn't used to people being so tentative around him, for most people showered him in hugs. This boy was just different.

"See? Truckee doesn't bite. And I'm hoping your mouse doesn't either." Hale examined Mickey, trying to see if the mouse carried diseases. Sometimes, he could literally see that. He couldn't heal, but he was still an Apollo kid, and he could still be a doctor if he wanted to. What kind of doctor couldn't tell if a patient was sick?

J.J. giggled when Truckee sniffed his hand. It tickled the six year-old. And, there was also the fact he was a little kid - any sane little kid would find it cool to be sniffed like that.

Jimmy gently put his hand out on the dogs head, stroking the fur. His eyes appeared to quiver, they were in their biggest form. He was holding back a grin.

It was just a little thing, patting a dog, but J.J. found it awesome.

"Mickey isn't my mouse. He's my friend, not my pet!" Jimmy said defensively. Mickey crawled up into J.J.'s blonde hair and sat, as if to help put meaning into what his friend was saying.
