Not only that but because he was the only one who I could possess. You see when Alex and I fought before, not during the war between us but after, I left a part of my soul inside of him so that I could return another day if he defeated me and now I have. I explain to her.

I charge at Annabeth and stab her in the leg with my sword. I will not fall Annabeth. Then the Alex part of me realizes I just badly injured the one I care most about, the one I loved. My eyes go back to blue and I say No! Annabeth, what have I done?! Tears fill my eyes and I go sit down next to her crying, my back to her. I couldn't believe I had been so terrible. I look around me and see all of my friends that I had killed. Connor, Sam, and Adam's bodies lay on the ground lifeless. No! My friends, I killed them. They cared so much about me and I killed them. Tears come pouring down my eyes.
