" I know, it's really annoying that they're having that dance, I'm usually at the beach 24/7" I say irritatingly, For some reason I felt nervous, I had butterflies in my stomach, But I couldn't figure out why I was so nervous. I was dying to go to the beach and read my book, so far I'd went to the beach and read a book everyday. It was so nice and relaxing there.

Right now I was upset at the fact they decided to throw the dance at the one place where I could hang out all day without looking weird. Why am I so nervous though? Never-mind that, it's probably nothing at all. This dance can't last forever right?

I nervously pull my hair into a ponytail, I felt really odd, I felt anxious and nervous, it was so annoying. " Exactly, they should have done it somewhere else " I say, The beach was the only place that I felt safe, I could be myself there. The water seemed to fill me energy and confidence, it was my little safe place.

"She used to take me there to cheer me up after incidents at school"
It was always fun at the beach, I would always imagine I was a warrior from some far off land in a imaginary world fighting wars, or a solider fighting against terrorists or some giant robot fighting a giant lizard. Those were the days when I didn't know who I was, thought were the simple times.

" My backyard used to be a beach, it was fun because I had it all to myself " I say sighing. I didn't mention the fact that the only reason that my backyard had been a beach was because I had run away. I didn't like talking about my childhood, it made me angry that I didn't have a normal one.

If I had a beach in my backyard I would of probably been on of the most popular kids at school. I probably wouldn't have gone to school. Haha, probably one of those things that wasn't meant to be.

" it was pretty nice " I admit. I enjoyed the beach more than any other place in camp. I thought of the beach as mine.

Why the beach? Why not some place else? There was other places for them to hold a dance. I just didn't understand.

" I know right, It's so annoying, Dances are pointless if you don't have a date, I don't see the fun in it " I say simply. I was a little upset that I hadn't been asked to the dance, but I had the feeling that people completely ignored me, it was like I was invisible. It was frustrating to be one of the only girls in camp that hadn't been asked to the dance

That last statement sounded a bit antisocial. It's true and it had to be said though. Plus if we were attacked, we would all be sitting ducks at that dance.

" Yeah, it's annoying, I really wish they'd had the dance in the forest or the lake" I say . I really wanted to go to the beach, I went there daily and the rare days when I couldn't go were my worst days because I didn't get that little boost of confidence that I got when I visited the beach.

Even though all the things we do on a daily basis here are impossible to understand for a normal person, there are things we can't do. Time Travel is one of them.
"We could go to the beach now.... but it would be kinda difficult to hang out and all"

" yeah, there'd be a lot of commotion and it would be hard to relax " I say bitterly. I wished I had been asked to the dance, that way I could be by the beach constantly.

"But I was wondering, after the dance is over...... maybe we could go to the beach some time?" I asked. Wait, maybe I should have thought that out more before I asked. Well, too late for that now,.

I blushed, " Yeah that'd be fun " I say smiling. I fiddled with my bracelet absentmindedly. I was excited, it was always fun to go to the beach with a friend.

I was excited, and happy. I had made a friend, and we were going to go to the beach when the dance was over. I tried to keep my cool and not try to make the situation awkward. Not sure how I did with that though.

I felt a little awkward but It didn't really bother me. I couldn't wait for the dance to be over. I felt shy which was unusual because I wasn't shy around anyone. I knew I should say something but I didn't know what to say. I didn't want to say anything that I didn't mean, so I decided not to say anything.

I mean it can't last forever. They have to get tired eventually, or get bored and leave right? Just because we're demigods here doesn't mean we don't get tired. It just means we have special powers, and slight differences in appearance in comparison to normal people.

If I'm remembering correctly the distance from our spot on the map isn't that far from the beach. Then again, that's not the actual distance. So it's likely that it will take us what, twenty, twenty five minutes to get there? I wouldn't know, math isn't one of my good subjects.

" I doubt it, some people tend to linger and socialize after the party " I say. I doubt the party would be completely over soon. People usually stayed and talked for awhile. Some people stayed at party 's way after it was over

That was true, people usually do hang out after even after the party's over. I don't understand the point of staying at a party when it's over. Are they expecting the party to start back up or something?
"Even if its not completely deserted, it would still be relatively quiet," I said "Probably better than hanging out here"

" Yeah your probably right " I say, I wasn't one of those lingerers, on the rare occasion that I'm at a party, I leave the minute it's over. No sense staying when people are leaving.

There's no way the dance could take up the entire beach, it'd be impossible. We don't have that many campers here.
