| Train l Jackson"I knew when we collided, you're the one I have decided . . ." Train stepped, barefooted, through the rocks that lay scattered around the lake. Whenever a rock stung her foot, she groaned. It as immense pain, but pain couldn't kill her. Nothing could. Train Jackson was immortal, ever since her father cursed her.
It all started when she got to camp. Train was a threat. She possessed the power to control time, and she hated the gods with most of her heart. Aeon had been instructed to keep this girl at a normal demigod threat level, and in order to do this, Aeon was told to kill Train. Well, Aeon couldn't do this to one of his only demigod children, so instead he cursed her. Train couldn't age, she was stuck in the time her curse was put on her. As the time went by, it really didn't. Sure, time actually passed, but in Train's world, she wasn't getting any older.
Of course, things were different now, Train didn't hate the gods, but her curse could never be undone. She was always going to be 14 and a half. Not even a solid 14 or 15. 14 and 1/2. Still, Train made the best of the situation. She was loving never getting into the awkward stage of 16. Fourteen was weird, don't get me wrong, but Train saw it as nothing. If she had aged, she was destined to die like a normal kid. This way, it might be better.
But it wasn't. Red, Train's long time friend, short time enemy, was growing more powerful. The son of Kronos was also frozen in time, out of his own will, and seeking revenge on the girl he had once loved. Yeah, it's creepy. There's a six year difference, but weren't all married relationships a little off? Red knew that he and Train had been in love, and Train deserting him made Red realize how much he missed her. In order to possibly keep them together, Red froze himself in time. Train thought about him, all the time, but she wanted to fight him. He had been the cause of her aging halt, and Train didn't see him as a friend anymore.
So, on this cold, gray, Spring day, Train walked along the large, jagged rocks. Blood dripped from her foot, and she wiped away the tears as if they were nothing. As she walked, she heard a noise. "Red?" she asked, turning around hopefully. It wasn't Red. Instead, it was a girl. She was a demigod, no doubt. And blond, that was also true. Anything else about her, Train didn't really notice. "Oh. Not Red."" . . . Who's one of my kind!"

Annaleah steadies herself, attempting to balance on the rocks. She feels like a huge weight has been lifted--one where she can be free and less than air. Her wavy blonde locks hang low, resulting in pushing aside her fringe to keep herself from falling off the rocky cliff. She raises her head for one brief moment to see a younger brunette. She studies the girl, halting herself as she tilts her head to the side, in confusion.
Before turning to leave, she steps on a twig, snapping it and resulting in sudden noise. She pauses, hesitating, "Sorry, I was just leaving." she lets a soft embarrassed smile creep onto her face. "I'm Anna." "but I will not be drawn into the past again." |

| "Oh, were you now?" Train raised an eyebrow and stifled a laugh. "I'm Train. Sorry about that Red thing, kind of. Your steps are clumsy, like his." Train tried to suppress her emotion out burst, but it wasn't easy when you were expecting someone else. Someone you loved, and maybe still do.
"I just thought you were . . . Never mind." Train shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts of that demon of a boy. The one who taught her to hate her father, and was now an enemy. This girl was what was happening now. She was being rude, as Train saw it, and there were things to handle.
"I'm assuming you don't know me. That's fine. Most people don't as I've been here longer than anyone. Well, most anyone. I don't feel like giving you my back story. You said you were leaving, any way." The daughter of Aeon messed with a strip of hair, twisting it between her fingers. The blood still dripped from her bare feet, and the rocks still stung.
Nothing could change what happened in the past, or how she longed to be with Red once more, but what could be changed was how she acted because of it. Train was always so closed off, as if she was saving herself only for Red. The truth was, that's exactly what Train was doing. She wasn't ready to admit it, but Train was waiting for him to come back. It made her constantly jumpy. She couldn't deal with herself in this state. She felt like she could give up. It was hard on her; hard on everyone.

Anna scrunches her brow, in utter confusion at this young girl's continuous ramble, "I've been here for a short year. I only know two people at most." she listens to this girl, afraid a fight might break out, "Did I say something?" she gazes at Train once more, tilting her head ever so slightly, as a trembling frown settles on her face. She never meant to disturb the girl, so why is she lashing out at her.
Anna backs away, nervously, only to stumble on a jagged rock, splicing her barefoot sole. She, almost immediately, falls onto the ground, uttering a curse word under her soft breath. She leaps up, still in excruciating pain, and grasps hold of a wide tree for support.
It's not a deep cut, rather a slit--a clean slit. She limps on her foot as she runs from the situation she's placed in. She clutches her stomach, feeling the unbearable hunger pangs invading her anxiety, poisoning her. Trapped, in her own place. The lake is hers--she's been residing here for a complete year now; it keeps her tranquility stabilized.
But now she must give it up. She's not wanted here any longer. |

| Train l Jackson"I knew when we collided, you're the one I have decided . . ." Train stared shocked at the girl, Anna or Lea or something like that. Her foot was bleeding, just like Train's, only Train was used to this pain. She wasn't reacting to it at all. "Sorry about your foot. That pain goes away. It doesn't last . . . It never lasts."
Now Train felt emo. Here she was, cutting her feet on the rocks, while another person did what she did. Only, this girl looked to be in real pain. Train, she hadn't felt any real pain in years. It had all been numbed. That's how she could stand to harm herself, it brought her some feeling, but not much. Numbness mostly.
"I'm guessing your not used to cutting your foot on the rocks of this lake. I know, it's hard to deal with the pain at first, but like everything, it goes numb. It seems hard to believe that pain it's can numb, but it does, just like love, and peace, and mostly hope. Hope goes away the quickest." Train sighed. This girl didn't want to hear her life story, Train sure didn't like to hear herself talk about it, but that's just the way things worked out. You find that if you don't have any other people to talk to, you chatter away with complete strangers that are willing to listen." . . . Who's one of my kind!"

She practically scoffs in disbelief, "No, I'm not used to pain that I don't inflict upon myself." she glances at her minuscule waist, thinking of the scarring and fingers branded to her side, from the late-night pinching sessions: her punishment of being fat. Train seems to be the kind of girl who believes she's better than everyone, which keeps Anna quiet (and confused, no doubt).
She settles cross-legged on the sharp, jagged rocks, fumbling with a pebble on the dirty ground, waiting for her to continue on. She pushes her sundress down, to cover her bare legs, while bandaging her foot with a spare (temporary) cloth she found in her first aid kit. She opens her mouth to say something, simultaneously looking for another bandage and disinfectant. "Here. So it doesn't get infected." Anna offers, letting out a genuine smile, gesturing toward her bloodied foot. She could at least take the bandage to keep from tetanus. |

| A N N A L E A H [anna] A S H W O O D" stop thinking of your own problems for once."
Anna, sick of trying to help her, clenches her fist, "Listen, you're not the only person feeling pain, alright?" she hisses, tightening her eyes, "I'm f--king anorexic. I cut. I pinch the extra flab on my little body, even though I've never passed 105 pounds." she pulls herself up, scrambling to her feet, "If you want to talk, come back when you're not being ignorant and self-centered." her eyes water, the salt stinging her eyes. She's tired of hearing about other people's problems (people who think only they have issues). They never once care to ask about her, how she feels, never return the favor.
She finally broke down, in front of a clueless inconsiderate stranger. Her legs tremble, disobeying her. Just f--king care about someone other than yourself for once, help them for once, but would anyone help her? No, they don't care. She's not thankful, she's just being polite.
She climbs uphill, opposite Train, where the rocks dig into the cloth, ripping her soft skin. The pain endures her, making her feel alive. Train was wrong. So wrong. The pain lives with you forever. She doesn't want to feel alive, numb, anything. She only wants to be loved, but Anna's unlovable. No one loves Anna.
No one ever will--and she will have to live with that.
"other people are going through the same bull, it's not all about you. Why don't you help them?" -- Train's words pissed Anna off to her breaking point. |
