Stella Johnson

"Well, yeah. I'm a daughter of Athena. Can't you tell?"

Stella sat quietly on the beach, her arms wrapped around her legs, gazing out upon the clear, blue ocean. Normally, the sound of the waves lapping at the sand would calm her, but her mind was lost in other things. Her sister, whom she hasn't seen in years, was at camp. The long time sibling rivalry between Melina and her could be even more personal than the years before. Stella was in no way intelligent in normal Athena-like subject, but Apollo. She was an actress. A big, full-time, famous actress. Was it possible that she could be inferior to her younger sister through intelligance?

Her thoughts were interupted as she heard the shound of footsteps crunch in the sand. Turning to her side, she couldn't make out the figure clearly as the wind carried the sand to the other side of the beach. "Who is there?" she asked.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed by everything, I was taking a walk on the beach. I was just elected Cabin Leader of the Muses cabin, and everything just felt like too much at the beginning. Everything was just thrown onto me. But, it was my fault for nominating myself. All my fault. The responsibility is mine, now. And I will fufill my position.

My bare feet felt every grain of sand as I crunch down the beach. My leather jacket fell a bit loose, and my plain white t-shirt fell also. Along the beach, I see a girl. She seemed about my age, which was a shock, considering there was not a lot of 20 year olds at camp. I start to approach her, trying not to make a lot of sound. But she heard me. Answering her question, I reply. "Just me. Joey McDaniels."

As the footsteps grew louder, Stella was capable of making out the figure's apperance. He was masculine, with dark, brown hair and brown eyes. His hair was styled in a way that he could easily run his hands through. Admittedly, Stella instantly thought of him as someone attractive.

The boy introduced himself, and Stella's face lit up. Joey McDaniels? Aren't you the newly elected Muses cabin leader?" she questioned. It has been a long time since she was at camp. She wasn't really familier with the four new cabins being built: Nyx, Hecate, Hades, and Muses. Before, it was just the Olympian gods, and Hera's cabin stored all of the minor gods' kids. Unless the kids decided to live in the Big House's basement.

"I'm Stella Johnson, daughter of Athena."

I grin wide. "Why yes, I am the Muses Cabin Leader. I'm a bit overwhelmed, but I guess I'll get used to it, y'know?" I sit down next to her and look at the water, then turn back to Stella. "Nice to meet you." Now that I was closer to her, I realized that she was very cute.

Stella returned the smile. She was thankful that she was talking to someone her age. Socializing with campers younger than her--especially kids under the age of eightteen--made her feel like some sort of loner.

"I wouldn't really know how much of a tough job it is," she replied simply. "I've been away from camp for a while working. Everything seems so new to me."

I smile at the corner of my mouth. "Yeah, it's always confusing. But over time, you get used to it. Unless you're me. I never found my way around camp until four months after I arrived."

~ Stella let out a small chuckle at Joey's reply. So far, she had taken a small liking to him. He was the first person that she considered actually hanging around camp with. When she was at camp, that is. Being an actress was always a hectic life.

"Do you have a job?" she questioned. She wondered if he did have an occupation. Maybe he worked in the same department as her. If Joey was a son of an artistic type of muse, then Stella wouldn't be so nervous about talking about what she really likes. The whole wisdom thing never really caught on to her. She had Athena's "wisdom genes," but they weren't used exactly how an Athena kid uses them. The genes developed the way Stella advanced; through art.

"I mean, if you don't, that's perfectly fine. I was just wondering," she blurted out quickly. Hopefully the question didn't offend Joey, especially since Stella had already taken a liking to him. She didn't want that to crumble away because of one small thing. Being trapped in a training camp for the rest of your life really ruins your chances at the real world.
