Glancing at my watch, I swung my legs and shuffled around a little bit in my place on the bench outside the fair. Man, when would Eridian get here? It was already ten minutes past the time we had agreed to meet. He knew how excited I got over fairs and stuff. The waiting was just cruel. Fixing my bangs when a gust of wind came, I frowned and looked around. "He is so winning me something later." I said to myself, pursing my lips.

My footsteps made little sound as I entered the large fairgrounds. I moved my head around, searching for Wendy. Man, she must be ticked. I was late, that was obvious. I had...slept in, was the phrase. Either way, I was late, and I still had to find a rather angry girl in a large group of people. "Gods, where could she be...?" I asked myself, pushing through a line of people heading into a pair of gates.

Levi wandered aimlessly through the fair. He had always loved places like this...the excitement of everyone and the small of popcorn simply made him smile. He ran his fingers through his spiky, brown hair and let out a hefty sigh. He walked towards one of the games, examining before realizing that he wouldn't be able to win anything. He had no hand eye coordination. Levi pursed his lips and sauntered over to a nearby bench. He sat down and pulled out a sketch pad and pencil, something an artist always had with him. He sketched the carnival and some of the people passing by.

A cell-phone would be a really handy thing to have right now. Sighing, I glanced at my watch again. Two minutes had passed. Oh well, he wouldn't mind if I went in now. I hadn't seen him pass by yet, but he easily could have just gone through a difference entrance or exit.

Ticket ticket ticket ticket. Digging through my bag for my ticket, I brought it out with a triumphant noise. After doing all the stuff I needed to do, I sighed at the amount of people crammed in the fair. Making my way through the people, I headed over to some bench and sat down. There was already some boy sketching and sitting on it, but surely he wouldn't mind if I took a seat. Remaining silent for a little bit, I squinted through the crowd and made a face. "Busy and bustling here, isn't it?" I asked, glancing at him.

I let out a puff of air. Scratching the back of my head in frustation, I looked around again. "Come on, come on..." My eye caught a rather amusing look game. Just one game... No, I'm on a mission. Seeing something familiar, a girl passed by. Do I know her...? No, your mind's playing tricks on you! Stay focused. "Gah!" I said, probably a bit too loud. A few people glanced at me, odd stares plastering their faces. This is so stupid... Too many people!

Levi glanced over at the girl and he nodded his head. "Yeah, I feel like I if I stopped walking they'd just trample right over me," he said, observing the people. He shook his head, adding some details to his sketch. "The point of only having a carnival for one day is beyond me.." he said, glancing over at the girl.

Looking around, Angel caught a glimpse of a boy who looked too familiar. Before she could say hi, the guy said "Gah". Curious, Angel caught up to him. Being very much of a retard she is, Angel didn't introduce herself. She, instead, coughed. Hidden in the cough was

"demigod"

. The words just were blurted out. Angel then figured out that he was probably from camp. Great! she thought to herself. She kept her pace, following the boy like he was a giant credit card.

I kept darting my eyes around, growing more and more frustrated. "Dem-" The word was hidden in a cough. In fact, I wasn't even sure if it was the word I was thinking of. It could've been anything. But I was absolutely sure that I wasn't the only special one there, or even the only special one in the surrounding ten feet. I kept pushing through the people, now, paranoid a bit. I'd have to find a clearing of some kind. Somewhere where there was no people.

"Pool in as much money as possible and cram tons of people in one little area before moving on and repeating in a different city, I'm pretty sure." I responded, standing up on the bench to look around our general area for a little bit before hopping back down and sitting again. "But I'm pretty fond of fairs so I don't really mind how packed it is. The business, the whirl of activity around you, the laughs and happiness, it's all so great." I said, smiling. "All I need now is to find the incredibly smart Eridian and make him buy me things. Many things." I uttered more to myself, shaking a silent fist at my best friend who currently was not present.

"I'm Wendy, by the way." I stated, holding out a hand for this mystery bench man to shake.

Levi studied her hand a moment, sticking his pencil behind his ear before he gave her hand a friendly shake. "Levi.." he said with a smile. He leaned back, finishing up his sketch with a sigh. "Who's Eridan?" he asked, tilting his head as he looked up at the girl with a curious expression.

Angel whispered over to the dude. As she inched closer, he smelt of strawberries and horse. Yep, he was definitely a demigod. Angel caught up with him, and faced towards him as they walked. Walking backwards wasn't so hard, just, she ran in to people.

"Hi, I'm Angel,"

she introduced herself with a plastered on smile.

The son of Hybris, pushed through more people, trying to find a bench or empty space of some kind. Finding himself unsuccessful, he sighed, and was confronted by a girl. He raised an eyebrow as she greeted him, and introduced herself. "I'm Eridian," the boy said said, simply, and continued walking, sliding past her. The only thing that stopped him from going into the mass crowd again was her scent. As he walked past, the scent of, well...demigod filled his mind. He stopped, and looked at her. "Not here," He said, "Follow me." With that, he continued walking, not checking to see if she was keeping his trail or not.

"Nice name. Oh, Eridian? He's a son of-.." I cut myself off there, horrified for a moment. Oh gods, oh gods, oh gods. Clearing my throat, I continued while pretending I hadn't said anything of that sort. "Eridian's my best friend. I ended, awkwardly raising a hand to brush my hair back as if nothing had happened. Why, me? No no, I hadn't said anything weird. I went about talking about my friends' parents all the time. Oh gods, I couldn't believe I had almost told a mortal that my best friend was a son of Hybris! I had gotten too used to things at camp, maybe I shouldn't go out and try to talk to people like this..

Levi caught her words and he arched an eyebrow. 'Son of..' he thought. 'Must be a demigod...and then means that she probably is too..' Levi leaned back, acting as though he hadn't heard anything. He fiddled with his sketch pad, flipping through the pages. "So...are you a demigod as well? Or just him?" he whispered so no one else could hear.

Angel nodded, and followed after him.

"So, who are your parents?"

she asked as she kept a steady pace. As Angel walked behind him, she wondered how many other demigods roamed the carnival. The carnival was big, and it was close to camp.

Eridian sighed a bit, and answered with, "Hybris." His voice was hushed, and he stated only his god parent, feeling that his mortal parent would useless in the conversation. He continued walking until he found a bench, it's seat void of anyone else. The boy slid into the seat non-nonchalantly, and watched her, waiting to see if she would sit as well. He was, of course, still looking around, hoping to see Wendy, but after a moment he gave up, and focused on the other girl again, when a thought slid into his mind. How many demigods are here...? There's me, the other girl, and, hopefully, Wendy. That's three already. If there are too many of them, he started inwardly, then people could be in danger. This many demigods could easily attract monsters.

Freezing, I stared straight ahead. Darn it. He had heard me. But... It seemed like he understood and he knew what I was so... No, that didn't make it alright. It was slip-ups like that which would kill me someday. What if this guy had been a monster? Then again, he could still be a monster. But if he had been a monster, wouldn't he have attacked me already? Glancing sideways at him, I narrowed my eyes. "We shouldn't discuss this but... yes." I murmured, scanning the surrounding area as if one of those cursed monsters might pop out any second now. Probably might. Multiple monsters, in fact. "Haven't seen you around camp before." I said casually. Hey, camp was pretty innocent. Nobody would suspect a thing. Plus, I didn't feel like being quiet.
