A Demi-God Lost Empty
PostSubject: A Demi-God Lost   A Demi-God Lost I_icon_minitimeSat Oct 23, 2010 3:45 pm

I, Luke Treevilly, was wandering had been slowly wandering forests along the east coast sience I was six. I pulled up the dark memory of how it began... It was Christmas Eve, and I had put my usually grumpy attitude during winter away, and I was hanging ornaments on a pine tree with my mom. As usual, the pine tree seemed to glow with life whenever I touched it. I was hanging up a fire place ornament, when I heard a hideous scratchy voice come out of no where, say, "Ahh... A son of the Wild... You think you're protected don't you...but every tree can burrnnnn..." Suddenly the fire place I had been hanging erupted in flames. The tree caught fire, burning my hand. I jumped back, yelling in pain. The fire began to move towards me, trying to grab me in a firey hug. My mother, Anne Treevilly, yelled, "LUKE! RUN!" I was too transfixed to move, the fire hypnotizing me. My mother lunged at me, shoving me out of the way. The fire reached out and grabbed her, pulling her in. She screamed in agony, and the dark voice laughed, like it had just discovered a new way to burn an ant. The voice threatened, "Run little half-blood, but know, fire can spread..." and I had ran, and I shuddered, shedding a tear, remembering the dark memory.
I reached a dark forest, and heard ominous growls on the side of a trail I had found. I always found a trail, though sometimes other people never saw it. It was liks only I could see it. I let out a growl of warning, which most times either made the animal give me respect, or flee. These fled. I was weary, I had not had good food or water in months, barely surviving on nuts and small streams. Then, the trail ended, and I was standing on the edge of a forest, in a clearing with...temples, and what looked like Greek houses. I gripped my staff in suspense, because the wierdest part was, I saw people with swords, shields and knives. I knew I wouldn't have enough energy to fight them, I barely had enough to stand. In fact, I didn't. I staggered into the clearing, and collapsed, rolling down a hill. I muttered, "Crap..." before I blacked out.

from my "hiding place" i saw a new kid run screaming into the grounds, quite far away from the main cabins. He collapsed soon after he entered. I pondered leaving him there but i decided there would be no harm bringing him to the infirmary. so, drawing the hood over my face to conceal myself.I went to him. reaching him at a speed humanly impossible. then i picked him up and threw him over my shoulder. heading towards the infirmary careful not to be seen.

I groggily opened my eyes. I remembered passing out, but where was I? I was...flying? No, that couldn't be. No matter what I had seen in my 14 years in the world, I had never flown, though I envied the birds. Then I looked up, and saw I was being carried by someone. I asked indignantly, "Aye! Lemme' go! Where you takin' me?! Where am I?!"

"I'm taking you to the infirmary. and if you don't shut up they'll also have a broken jaw to heal." I was anti-sociable as is and this punk being so ungrateful towards me was something i was not going to tolerate.

I was not ok with someone bossing me around like that. The season, fall, did not imrpove my attitude. I knew the threat was all too real though, so I decided to not push too hard. I demanded, "Well, you could at least tell me where I am. I've been lost since I was seven." When I said those last words I realized how much time had really gone by... I didn't even know my own age, but I doubted I was still 7. I hadn't thought of my birthday since then... When was it?

"we are at a camp." I said emotionlessly, but inside i was somewhat sympathetic, a new,odd emotion for me. I knew what it was to be lost. "A camp for demigods" I elaborate.

I didn't know what a demigod was, so I stupidly asked, "Wot's a demigod?" This was just what he needed. More confusion. Did that mean he was a god? Demigod did have the word god. His mom had talked about Greek gods a lot, but that was no reason to mean that he was a god. He had never known his dad, and his mom hadn't been very "godly."

"i means you and the people around you are one half god. they are born when a mortal and a god have a child," I explain, "now keep your voice down. I have been seen only 3 times in my whole time here, and that includes by you, and im not going to let you make it a fourth." I say as we draw ever closer to the main body of the camp, "if you need any more help after they heal you up come to forest, ill find you. now make like an unconsious person."

I understood what it was like not wanting to be seen. My slightly pointed ears and color changing hair helped with that. I didn't really understand everything about demigods, but decided to just let it slip by. Of course, someone who had only been seen 3 times and hides in the woods was very trustworthy. I hid in the woods though... Was I untrustworthy? I thought about all of this while hanging limply over the guy's shoulders. My hair began to shed to black... That happened this time of year. Soon he would be bald for a day, and then it would be completely black when I woke up.

OOC: I recall reading somewhere you were allowed to play Chiron but only for small parts.

I pretended to be coming out of an unconsciousness, sitting up and rubbing my head. I winked in the general direction I saw the other kid go. I stumbled against the door, hitting it loudly. An old man in a wheel chair appeared. He was staring above me in silence... I asked apprehensively thinking he was staring at my hair and ears, "Hey! Just because they're pointed doesn't mean you have to stair! And I don't control what my hair does." He answered, "No, no. It's not that..." he motioned above me. I looked up and saw a very dimly lit 3D image of the pipes. My mother had played the pipes... I jumped back, swatting at it, trying to get it to go away. It followed me. I stumbled off the steps into plain view. I yelled, "What is it?!" Some wierd goat creatures had come up behind Menander where murmuring about Pan this and Pan's sign. Then the wheel chair guy seemed to wake up, and he explained, "Well, you see, you know the Greek gods?" I replied, "Yes, and I already know their real. A friend informed me." He continued, "Well, the pipes are the sign of Pan...the avid of the Wild, Rustic Music, Sheperds, and Satyers... But your not a Satyers." I asked, "Satyer?" He motioned behind me. Oh... The goat guys with no pants that were staring at me... I muttered, "That explains my pointy ears, shedding, and...these." I took off my cap to show him my little horns. They would never grow bigger, and I definitely did not have hair instead of pants. I muttered, "I have to go." I ran off into the woods tomfind my friend. I couldn't take much more. I still had giant glowing pipes above my head...

I chuckled half hwarfarin. I muttered, "Sorry to dissapoint you, but I just found out my dad was a goat, a god, and he never helped me. Even when...Nevermind. I just need some time alone. I've always felt calmer out here, in the wild. I was raised out here... Also, I have horns, pointed ears, and my hair sheds. I've never fitted in. I wouldn't even fit in here. I just...need to think." I saw a yellow path appear, like the one that had lead me to Camp Halfblood. I asked, "Do you see that yellow path? Probably not, but follow me. Sometimes trails just appear for me, and they help me. They brought me here. Just follow." I started off on the trail, and saw an overgrown shed up ahead. It was covered with vines, and when I looked inside, I saw asleeping bag, some shelves, and a statues of a Satyer. I saw a little card on the sleeping bag, which said "Sorry" in wild handwriting. I guessed it was from goat dad, and said, "Well, looks like this is home." There was a hole in the roof, and a soft mossy log near the sleeping bag. Vines were growing along the wall, covering holes. I saw wooden pipes, and a raggedy book "Idiot's Guide to Pipes" with a winking faded Satyer on the cover.

"I already told you he was a god. they rarely help out their kids. but that road is proof that he is at least trying to help. even if the only thing he is giving you is a book and a musical instrument." i was unused to comforting other people so i wasnt very good at it.

I smiled at his attempt to comfort someone he didn't really know. I replied, "But don't Styers- I mean Satyers us these as magical instruments? Maybe I can too. Lets see whats in this book..." I picked it up and read through the table of contents, "The Beginning of Musical Magic, Easy Spells from Growth and Shrinking to Entanglement, Medium Spells of Larger Porportions, and Advanced Spells of Creating, Destroyig, and Encasing. Cool." I opened the first page of chapter 2, and saw a diagram for the growing spell. I saw a little seedling outside, and tried the diagram, stuttering on a few notes, but over all it came naturally. The seedling sprouted into the ground, and after 3 minutes became a sapling waist high, but sturdely built. It sealed the hole in the wall that was the entrance. Then a branch grew oit and poked me in the eye. I jumped back inpain, rubbing my eye. Then I knew the other kid would eventually leave, so I played the diagram for shrinking, and it shrunk back into a seed, but a couple of shell bits launched out. I luckily ducked and they missed me. Before he could go, I asked, "So, if your a demi-god, who is your godly parent?"

I replied, "Cool. That's why you don't like to be seen?" I wripped a piece of cardboard that was blocking a hole in the wall, and played the cathy melody for "grow." This time I wS not aimig at a door tree, but at a random seed. Istoppedhalfway through, murmered, "Sorry," and pulled the tree out by the roots. I cut of the branches, and with some sap glued it to the cardboard. I pulled the sharpie I used for my journal out, and wrote on it in a scribbily hand writing barely legibal, "Pan's Cabin That Way" Then I saw another trail appear and walked towards the clearing of cabins, and planted it down at the edge of the forest, so everyone could see me put it down, and then I took out my pipes and made the tree grow again, until there was a tree as tall as me with a sign on it. Then the wheel chair guy came up...but he was a...pony. I gasped.

I saw my staff laying on the ground where I left it when I fell. I picked it up, and gripped it sturdily in my bands. I hadn't had to use it much, but every so often a rebellious animal or...something else would attack. The worst was the giant dog. The staff also connected him to the wild. He just felt more in tune with nature when he held it. Then the guy in the wheel chair...or rather his body where a horse's neck should be. I asked, "Who are you?" He replied chuckling, "I'm Chiron. I'm also a Centaur. So, would you like to talk now," he glanced up at the sign and asked, "And what is this cabin?" I answered, "Oh, well, my dad led me to a...shed, I guess. It's overgrown and came with a sleeping bag, a mossy log pillow, some pipes, and a Idiot's Guide to Magic Pipes." Chiron answered, "Thats good. We were planning on building a palace for the all the minor gods. So, down there," he gestured towards an open air pavilion, "is the dining hall. Your table is the one with all the Satyers." I nodded, "Ok. Well, a friend already told me abkut demi-gods and such, so, I'd better go." I jogged off on an unsightable trail, that only I could see. Of course, it was highlighted yellow for me. I reached my cabin, and walked inside. I asked, knowing the kid was somewhere here watching, "So, where's your cabin? And what's your name?"
