I ran through the forest. My bare feet struck the ground, the rocks causing shooting pains. I didn't care. I could feel the monster approaching. I felt its warm breath on my neck. I cursed myself a thousand times over. What was I thinking? Who went out to hunt monsters by themselves? I did, apparently. Then I saw it. The entrance to camp half-Blood.

How fated it was that on the day Robin actually did patrol duty on Half Blood Hill, something interesting happened. Spotting the redhead approaching camp, she was about to wave hello when a monster barreled out of the trees so close to the girl that it could bite off the her head had it lunged a few inches further. Blood drained from Robin's face.

"H-Hang in there!" she shouted, pulling out her crossbow. She skidded a little down the hill but remained close to the camp's borders as she notched an arrow, mumbled a prayer, then fired. Hopefully, she hit the monster and not the girl. Hopefully.

Ariah saw the girl emerge from behind the trees. Her heart leaped inside her chest. Finally! The girl shot an arrow out of her crossbow that hit the monster in the head. He stumbled and fell. Ariah ran over. "Thank .. Thank you." she panted.
