Tobias Kelly
Tobias wasn't ever a huge fan of capture the flag. Sure, it was fun, and he had the chance to pretend to be the hero, in a sense, but it always seemed to end badly for him. Last time, the demigod had nearly gotten stabbed through by a son of Ares, and ended up being guarded by the other team for the rest of the game. Personally, the guy didn't like being captured for hours before the game ended. He'd much rather get the flag, or something like that. Then again, anything was more interesting than sitting while Ares kids taunted you. This time would be different.
Clad in a variety of bronze armor, he redid the straps on his chest plate. The shin guards on his legs were making his jeans itchy, but he was getting used to him. Tobias also thought little of the red plumed helmet on his head, as it made him sweaty. But, whatever, as long as the red team won, he couldn't care less. After the team was done discussing, with cabin six leading the strategic plans, Tobias was sent out to guard off in the woods. He had a fifty foot second to guard, near a little sort of wetland area, that was covered with tall trees and short grass.
His knife was strapped to his forearm, ready to use if needed. Tobias had told himself not to hesitate, that it could make him look bad, but the idea was still pestering him. The demigod also had a throwing knife on his belt, but it wouldn't be much use unless he could see the person coming at him. The forestry was thick, but the trees were a main point of trouble for him. No matter how fast Tobias was, it wouldn't be much use if he couldn't see anything. He sighed, taking out his knife and practicing some stabbing moves.
As he stabbed, the boy heard something snap. Was it a scout coming to inform him of something, or maybe someone from the other team? Tobias couldn't be sure, so he kept his brown eyes open, and his weapon ready in case of attack.

Emily had eaten dinner, picking at the food. She wasn't really in the mood to eat. The capture the flag was starting soon, and she didn't want to let her cabin down. She sighed, and quickly pushed her plate to the side. She put on her armor over her shirt and jeans. She liked her team. She had actually allied with a few people herself. Luckily, she had Hades and Poseidon on her team. The conch horn blew, and Emily quickly finished the rest of strapping on her armor.
She stood with the rest of team, not wanting to give any orders to her cabin and then making her team loose. She didn't want that to happen, or it would look like she was a bad cabin leader. I mean you are a pretty bad cabin leader, She thought to herself. She sighed and shook her head. She didn't need bad thoughts, especially not right now. The conch horn blew again, and she ran into the game along with the rest of her team. She was sent to go looking for the other team's flag of course. The boring job. She wanted to do the job just to start taking down the other team. It would've gave her some use.
Emily quickly realized how she wouldn't even need her armor since she wouldn't be fighting. She quickly ditched it since it was getting itchy and she found no use for it. She could always get it later. With her sword in hand, Emily walked around trying to find the red flag. She had gotten lost after awhile, just wandering around the woods. She found the creek, eventually. She knew where she was now, but that still didn't seem to help. She sighed and walked away from the creek.
Emily quickly thought of how the game was going. Hopefully, they were winning. She didn't want to loose. It would make her feel like a worse cabin leader then she already was. She approached an area with tall trees and short grass. She saw a boy practicing his moves. It looked like he got the same job as her. She approached him, already thinking of moves to take him down if he was on the other team. A twig snapped as she came toward him, and she cursed under her breath. Then she saw the familiar face. The one from the New Year's Eve attack. The one she met at her cabin.
"Tobias..." She whispered, barely loud enough for him to hear her.

Tobias lowered his weapon as he heard the noise, trying to figure where it was coming from. The noises of the forest were thick, and layered. He had to push past the thought of birds, or wind, or the leaves rustling. Focusing on the sound of movement, he figured that the person was behind a group of trees, and moved to the left to see if he could see the invader of red territory. He wasn't losing another capture the flag game to any Ares kid.
His brown eyes spotted the sight of a familiar, beautiful daughter of Zeus. He hesitated, eyes wide as he calculated what he wanted to do. Tobias could've just charged at her, but he wasn't like that. The only thing that he did immediately was flirt, and even then he started off slow. Really, he was a terrible fighter. But, he was fast. That was something that most kids in even his cabin couldn't match. Smirking at her, the boy responded, "Hey, Emily, you're on the wrong side of the border." The demigod's eyes had a cocky glint to them, which was strange for him. Apparently his need for success was stronger than his normal persona.
The smirk still plastered on his face, the demigod reached for the throwing knife on his belt, and threw it towards the young girl. He didn't intend for it to hit her, but to scare her. Maybe if he intimidated her, she wouldn't try to fight him. Tobias really didn't want to fight her. As a guy, he couldn't hurt her without looking like a jerk. But as a soldier, it was kind of part of the job.
He didn't really care about his appearance in that second. He guessed that this honey blonde hair was tousled from the wind and his 'training' attempts before the games. However, you couldn't tell because of his helmet.Tobias also guessed that shin guards were tacky, but he still has bruised shins from his last training session with little demigods. He didn't want to risk it. Almost as much as he didn't want to risk hurting his friend.

Emily smiled. "That's the point Tobias." She said, leaning against a tree. She didn't flinch when he threw the knife. Training for so many years had helped her for games like this. It dawned on her that she would have to fight him if she wanted to get to the other side. She sighed. If it was someone else, she would've been finished with them by now. But it was either winning for her team or Tobias.
She hadn't seen the charming boy in a long while. A few weeks ago to be exact. The memory was still fresh in her mind along with the New Year's Eve attack. She had been busy lately, taking care of the cabin and going to cabin meetings. Thinking about it now made her realize she barely had enough time to do anything. She brushed the thoughts away, wanting to focus on what to do. She didn't want to seem like a bad cabin leader, a coward as one might say. An idea came to her. She could distract him, and then eventually get to the other side. She smiled at her plan. She didn't need a child of Athena to think of it.
Emily walked up to him and smiled. She wanted to hug him so badly, but held back. "You won't be able to get past me." She taunted him, smirking. She turned, now in the back of him. "I haven't seen you in awhile." She said playing with her sword.
She could still remember playing her first capture the flag game. That was a long time ago. She could still remember it along with the rest of her memories of camp. She was on the red team at the time and her team had lost. She had tried to protect the flag, but she had just joined camp so she didn't have any experience with weapons or fighting. Only some things on boxing, but that didn't help at all. There were other younger campers along with her protecting the flag, but they were too young. She had always wanted to lead the team, but now that she could she didn't want to. She wasn't even sure if she was responsible enough. She was actually surprised when she was nominated and won the cabin leader position. She had felt bad for the girl, but she hadn't really seemed to care. She wondered who had actually though she could be a cabin leader. However, there were only about four people in the cabin, maybe even less. She sighed, and shook her head. She needed to pay attention to the task at hand.

Tobias smiled as she did, even though he probably shouldn't have been letting the blonde haired girl into his head. Okay, so maybe he didn't care if he won. Maybe getting the chance to talk to Emily was better then winning. Wait, what? No, he had to stay focused, even if his ADD was preventing that for the time being. The red team had to win, because Tobias Kelly didn't wear such ridiculous clothing for no reason. He didn't think the red made him look any better, especially when the bronze blocked some of his face from view.
Glancing back up at the girl, he continued to smile, remembering the last time he had spoken to her. They had been scared out of their minds of course, but the memory was still vivid. Neither of the demigods would've been safe if they hadn't had each other. Of course, Tobias didn't enjoy thinking like that. He told himself that he was strong and could take care of himself, when he actually needed help frequently. His gaze followed her as she spoke, raising an eyebrow when she had gotten behind him. What was she doing?
Oh.
Tightening his grip on his weapon, Tobias ran at her, then slid behind her. "Not so fast there, hotshot," he whispered into her ear, smiling as he did so. The demigod hadn't realized it, but he had slid very close to her. His chest was parallel to her back, with his right shoulder leaning a bit towards her's. "Gods, Steel, I'm not that stupid." He chuckled, his weapon still ready in case Emily started a fight. Heck, he knew that she would, and he also knew that his odds of winning were low.

Emily was just a few steps away from the other side and- Tobias was standing be hind her. He was fast, she had to admit that. But she was ready for fight at any time. Training had helped a lot. She bit her bottom lip, hoping she bit it hard enough that blood would appear. A shiver went down her spine when he whispered in her ear. She turned around to face him, and realized how close they were. She could stand on her tiptoes and kiss him. She smiled and took a small step back, giving them space. "Are you sure you aren't?" She asked laughing. She remembered when he had first created her nickname. Steel. She had found it odd at first, but had eventually gotten used to it.
Emily threw her sword up in the air, and catching it with the other. Hopefully, she could hurt herself so she wouldn't have to fight him and get out of the game. But that would make her look like a bad cabin leader. She sighed. Decisions, decisions. She looked up at him. He looked cute in his armor. Her on the other hand, was not so pretty. She had practically rolled out of bed, ran a brush through her hair, and that was it. She had ditched her armor awhile ago wondering if someone had taken it. She could always find it later. She quickly looked down at her feet to avoid his gaze.
Emily could still remember the first night they had met. That was along time ago. She hadn't been out of her cabin in awhile. And of course the first time she did, monsters had attacked. She smiled at the thought. She hadn't helped with the battle much, and still didn't care. There were other campers that helped with the battle. She had risked her life many times for camp, so it was okay if she didn't one. Right? It didn't matter anyway, it wasn't like she could go back in time or anything.
Emily took a step closer to him and smirked. "You know there are other ways of getting past you." She said leaning in. She wished he would've been someone else. It would've been easier and she wouldn't get so distracted every minute.

Tobias wondered if she reacted when he was so close to her. He felt a little different, truthfully, like he has just gotten out of a sea of ice cold water, and was fully awake. It wasn't like some of his easy one night hook ups that ended in messy make out sessions for a dare, this was something different. He couldn't quite pinpoint what it was, but Emily was different. She was responsible, steady, beautiful, and powerful. The combination of all of that drew the demigod towards her, and made him want to make the most of every second with her.
Watching her sword flip out of her hand made him want to duck and run for cover, but he didn't move. Not frozen out of fear, but he had a faith in the demigoddess so near to him, that she would grab it and not allow Celestial Bronze to do him in. Smiling at her, he stared back into her dazzling eyes, trying to figure out their exact color. Tobias hadn't ever done this kind of look for other girls, they didn't deserve this kind of attention. Emily did.
He watched her as she took a step back away from him, then towards him again. The movement made him smirk with a small burst of pride. He may be limited in his physical abilities, but he could tell that Emily felt at least something towards him. A something that he wanted to make sure was still there, even if it was just during a capture the flag game. Raising an eyebrow at her sudden smirk, the demigod reflected the facial expression at her words. "Really? Hm," he muttered, still looking down at her with his chocolate eyes.
Tobias felt her leaning in for a kiss, and in his cockiness, the boy leaned back. "Whoa, anxious are we?" he burst, laughing. The boy paused, as if to make her anxious for his next move. With a sudden rush, he then tilted his head to the side, snaked a hand to the back of her neck, and pressed his lips to her's. "I can work with that," he breathed against her lips, before resuming the kiss.

Emily's face turned a bright red, embarrassed. Then they were kissing. She hadn't expected it to happen and stood frozen for the first few seconds. She eventually grew used to it, and she wrapped her arms around his neck. She smiled under the kiss and leaned more into the kiss. She pulled back and smiled at him. She gave him another quick kiss on the lips before fully pulling away. "You still do know I have to get past you right?" She said, laughing. She couldn't help herself, she kept laughing. She felt all tingly and bubbly inside. She had been wanting to do that since the first day they had met. She couldn't quite remember her first kiss. It was a long time ago. In England, she thought it was. Some stupid boy at a stupid dance. This kiss was different from that one. It felt different and made her feel different. She felt warm inside when she kissed him. It meant something different to her.
Emily picked up her sword form the ground and smiled at him. She turned and was in back of him now again. She hoped he would stop her, so they could stay here together. Alone. That's how she wanted it to be. This turned out to be one of the best capture the flag games. She had imagined it differently this morning, a boring game that she would have to lead. It had terrified her of actually being on the people to lead her team. Now it wasn't so bad.

Tobias blushed through his thin bronze helmet, that covered his nose and a majority of his cheeks, but he was still red. He opened his eyes after a moment, noticing Emily's matching red facial expression. Smiling against her smooth lips, the boy chuckled softly feeling her apply more pressure against him. He didn't mind the friction. When the feeling of her left his skin, the boy fully opened his eyes and widened his smile. "Not bad Steel,"' he whispered softly, his grin sliding into a smirk. The sound of her laughter was like music to his ears, and he wondered if he could make her continue that noise. Tobias would just have to wait and see.
The challenge of her getting past him still remained, but the demigod wasn't going to let her go. If he could help it, he'd keep her in his arms as long as possible. Tobias sighed as he let his arms fall back to his side, watching Emily get her sword and jog back over to him. He rolled his eyes at her, smile still intact. Reaching out, he reached for her forearm to grab hold of it, to swing her frame back into him. "I think you're fine here," Tobias insisted, his face lighting up in a grin. The helmet on his face might've blocked some of his smile, but it was as wide as he could.
Spinning her into him, he ran his left hand along her shoulder, down to her elbow. His forehead rested on her's, or at least whatever part of his face that wasn't covered in bronze. "Wanna stay, just for a little longer?" Tobias leaked as much suggestion into his voice as he could, but left the statement open. While he may be cocky, he wasn't going to force her.

[color=black]"What? You thought I was going to be bad kisser?" She asked jokingly. To be honest, she hadn't kissed anyone in awhile. She scared them off with being a daughter of Zeus and all. She used to love being a daughter of Zeus. Now not so much. She attracted more monsters, no one would even get close to her. She didn't really have anyone anymore. Everyone was still back in England. Her father had died when she was younger, but luckily that wasn't her fault. She didn't need these thoughts. Not right now at least during a happy moment in her life.
She didn't want to leave. Not ever. She didn't even care if she made her team loose. Or if she was the worst cabin leader ever. Her team was probably wondering where she went or where she was because had been more than an hour since the game started. She smiled as he pulled her toward him. "I don't know. I might be better elsewhere." She said grinning again. She put her arms around his neck and stared into his chocolate brown eyes. She thought about it for a moment. Could she stay for a little bit? All she knew, the game could've been over by now. She didn't know what to do. "Sure, I'll stay for a little while longer." She said before planting a kiss on his cheek. There were three words that still remained unsaid. I love you. The words had randomly popped into her head. She had never said them before to anyone and wasn't sure if she'd ever say them to anyone. But wouldn't this be the time to use them. She smiled at him. "I love you." She whispered to him.

Tobias simply shook his head at her remark, not bothering to reply to the blue eyed girl. A hint of a smirk hid in the right side of his lip, as if it was ready to grow at any moment into a full fledged display of his Hermes Ancestry. Instead he just rested his hands on her, sliding from her arms down to her hips, where he stopped. His helmet blocked a good portion of his face, but it still allowed a spot for the daughter of Zeus to plant her lips, only making the boy smile wider. "You might be better elsewhere, but you'll have more fun here," he reasoned playfully.
Hearing her say she would stay was great, making Tobias' grin larger, if that was possible. He wasn't trying to look good anymore, he was just smiling because he could. He was smiling for Emily, not caring that he was wearing a grin too big for his face. The demigod rested his head then on top of her's, so that his chin rested on her golden hair. The wind blew softly by the pair, almost carrying away the words of the beautiful girl trapped in a cage of the boy's arms. Once the sound actually registered in his head, Tobias' smile faded. "Really?" he asked, sounding confused.
He knew that girls liked the idea of love, and waited a good portion of their lives in the hope that it would find them. Yeah, he knew that. But Tobias wasn't exactly the type to get... attached so quickly. Was there something different about Emily? Of course, she was so different from his normal, more temporary girlfriends. But she also terrified him, the idea of being attached terrified him. "You should - uh, maybe go back to your base," he suggested, unwrapping his arms from her body. "I bet they're wondering where you are."
