The monsters advanced, seemingly coming in unstoppable waves. There was no way they could do this alone, there was no chance. No hope. Blinking, she noticed a snake woman charging towards her. Surging forwards, the girl spun her sword, hoping to dislodge the monster's weapon before she could attack her. However, the monster had a firm grip, and stabbed her weapon at the base of the girl's wrist.

Georgia blocked the snake woman's first attack, and sent a stab into the monster's scaly shoulder with the use of her knife. That only seemed to anger the demon, as she continued advancing. Continuing in her slashing strategy, feeling better about her abilities. With one more slash, the woman vanished into golden dust. The girl flicked her green eyes over to Christopher, seeing he was surrounded.

She ran over to help, having to zig and zag to avoid an attack from the manticore's spikes. The demigod didn't really fancy having a poisonous spike in her body anytime soon. Yet, her urge to protect him was stronger than her care for her own health. He was her new home, where she belonged, and she would do anything for him.

Stabbing her sword into one of the incoming snake women, she snapped it downwards, then slashed across it's neck, insuring it's death. Georgia was almost there, to help him, when a manticore emerged from the forestry, firing more spikes to the clearing. She nearly missed one, dodged another, but it was no use. Just as she was a yard away from the nearest threat to Christopher, the spike lodge itself in her stomach, and she collapsed.

Just as the blonde haired girl fell, reinforcements arrived, carrying everything from arrows and swords to ways to get injured campers out, something Gee would need soon. She could blink, but barely wanted to move, her whole body being absorbed by the toxins running through her system.

I HAVE DONE FOR YOU
everything my love

At the sound of clashing metal behind him, Chris rotated around, and saw Gee approaching him across the battle field.  The toxins in the manticore spikes were slightly getting to his head, but it was all localized to his left arm, which wouldn't get the poison in his blood stream until much later.  Chris tried to work his was over to the demigod, but between everything going on, and being totally surrounded, he didn't stand a chance of moving.

Gee finally made it over to him. Chris felt comfort hearing the mass of clanking armor approaching him. The manticore must've heard it too because he took off for the woods, but not before sending another wave of spikes. He raised his shield, and covered the chest and above for the two of them. Unfortunately, that didn't stop all the spikes. The demititan heard a sudden intake of air  beside him. And that was the last thing he heard before a deafening wave of war cries. A wave of bronze and gold and silver overtook them, and then the monsters. None of that really mattered to Chris though. His world was literally collapsing.

"NO!" he screamed as he watched her finish falling towards the ground. It was like time was moving slower, and for a son of Chronos, it might be. He rushed over to the fallen demigod. "No. No no no. Gee? Gee stay with me. OK? Alright. It'll be OK." Chris was probably more panicked than she was.  He placed a hand on the side of her head and his other hand beside the spike. Tears were collecting in Chris's eyes, and began to freeze the moment they strolled down his cheek.

A group of medics approached the couple and asked Chris to back away. No one could really hear anything going on, but Chris made sure he was heard. Then they demanded he back away. He responded by showing them they were number one. Chris knew he could be of help, but there wasn't a snowball's chance of them letting him near her.

The demititan spotted Jesse across the field. He made his way across the field until he was right beside the son of Demeter. He then proceeded to explain what was going with Gee. The kid looked devastated. Chris was fed up with cowards for the day.
"Are you going to stand there and cry or are you going to grow a pair?" The son of Demeter immediately stood at attention and wiped his tears and nose. "I'm hunting down the bastard that did this. Join me if you want."

Chris was out of the clearing, tracking the manticore to his best ability. It was a little while before Jesse caught up. "Isn't hunting this thing down what got her hurt in the first place?" He asked him. Chris stood up and looked the demigod in the eye. "But now it's personal." And he contiued tracking it. The son of Demeter followed. Apparently he wanted revenge too. Anger was enough to make a man do anything.

When they found the manticore it was resting in a much much smaller clearing. When the reinforcements showed up that scattered the monsters everywhere, so the spiked beast was on its own. Jesse may not have been the best in a fight but he knew what he was doing. The jungle floor quickly pinned down the manticores tail and feet. It was now totally defenseless and immobile. This was his chance. Chris charged the animal and slid underneath the beast. His sword easily sliced open the soft underbelly, and he arrived unscathed on the other side. Jesse released the now dying beast from his grasp. The monster wasn't going down without a fight though. There was one more burst of spikes in every direction, and one caught the demigod in the same spot it caught Gee. The monster then dissolved to dust. Without giving it a second thought Chris ran over to the son of Demeter.
"Come on dude! You aren't going to die. Do you know how pissed Gee would be if I let you die? I'd probably meet you in Hades before you got through the gates. That's why you aren't going to die, you hear me? That's an order."
