no one can know of the weakness
that i hide inside.
no one can know of the loneliness,
that creeps towards me in the night,
threatening to consume me.
as you, of all people,
wouldn't ever know.
no one can know of the fear,
that you will never experience.
for people like you are beautifully oblivious
to the things that eat away at me.
the fear that you will never return
from your quests of old.
that your heart has been stolen,
by the lust for adventures.
or maybe you have found a princess,
in sparkling gold,
with enough smiles and laughter,
to make you forget me.

his touches you and you melt away
from the reality of life.
i swear you’re already gone,
floating in his kingdom.
i’ve tried and tried again
to come and rescue you from him.
but you say he’s kind,
not like the murder i’ve seen him as.
that he wouldn't hurt anyone,
despite the blood on his hands.
sooner or later,
he will consume you.
leaving you in a transparent case,
of beautiful glass.
he always called you his queen,
but i pray you aren't buried as his.
