Emilia sat against a tree by Euros Creek, her violin rested against her shoulder with a bow in her other hand, gliding against the strings to create music. She hadn't had a chance to play in a while, so she decided that she should at least take her violin out and tune it. She eventually started to play fragments of different songs that she could remember, settling with Chopin's Nocturne. The girl closed her eyes as she let her fingers dance across the strings, the bow gliding smoothly against the violin and producing a sweet sound that she hadn't heard in a long time. She knew that being close to humid areas with a violin wasn't good for the strings or the wood, but she felt at peace near the water. Across the horizon of Long Island Sound, the sun was beginning the set, and Emily felt a smile play at the corner of her lips as she opened her eyes and continued playing while she watched the sun slowly disappear from the sky, the moon chasing after it. Playing the violin reminded her of her life before Camp Half Blood, when the only things that she worried about was whether she had the newest bag or who threw the best parties. Now she had other things to worry about, like staying alive and not being a convenient meal for monsters. It didn't help much that Hebe didn't give any cool defensive powers like the children of Poseidon did. Emily soon came to a block in her memory, and couldn't remember how to complete the piece so she just started to play Spring from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, a piece that she had always liked. It was cheerful and bright and reminded of a meadow of flowers. With a slip of her fingers, she played the wrong note, the atmosphere ruined by a musically incoherent and ugly screech emerged from the violin. Emilia sighed, putting the bow down and resting her violin on her lap as she watched the sun completely disappear from the horizon and the moon appear, giving her a dim source of light. outfit.note: i haven't rped in like months whoops the title also has nothing to do with the thread | |
