Malcolm,
Malcolm was falling. There was nothing beneath him, nothing around him. Unable to stop himself in any way, Malcolm twisted around in the air, hoping to catch something and save himself. Above him, he could hear a deep laugh. An evil laugh, but it just faded away to the sound of thunder in the distance as he fell.
Malcolm sat bolt upright in his bed. it was just a dream, He told himself. He was sweating beneath the heavy blankets that he must have tangled around himself in his sleep.
Something bad was about to happen. Malcolm could feel it in his pounding heart that they were all in terrible danger. And there was nothing he, or anyone else, could do to stop it.
Malcolm knew that a lot of times his suspicions of forthcoming bad things weren’t always exactly how he had pictured them. Once Malcolm had a dream about drowning, but it turned out to be just an argument that had taken place between his mother and Poseidon and the beach was too rough to swim the next day. But still. He had to tell Annabeth.
Malcolm glanced at his clock. It was a little past 6 in the morning. Annabeth wouldn’t be too mad if he woke her up. Right? Malcolm hoped so.
He scrambled out of bed, barely preventing himself from hitting his head on the top bunk, and into the living room of the cabin. Malcolm spinned around once and walked over to the door of the room that he thought belonged to Annabeth. He hoped it was hers. After all, Malcolm didn’t fancy running through camp in his PJs being chased by an angry mob of grouchy half-siblings at 6 AM.
He knocked once.
~I planned that this would happen several days before the apocalypse

Camp Half-Blood used to be the place where Annabeth would feel the safest, but lately, she's been realizing that it's been a long time since she's had a good night's sleep. Every night, she would toss and turn in her small room in Cabin 6, dreading the day when Kronos' army would march into camp and attempt to eliminate every camper that Annabeth has had the opportunity of calling a friend. It didn't quite help that her best friend and partner in crime, Percy, plays a huge part in the Great Prophecy. His sixteenth birthday is nearing, which means that the prophecy is starting to come to a full circle. The possibility of losing her best friend--and crush--scared the living hell out of her.
Her fear would often keep her from sleeping early, yet she'd wake up a few hours later and even on some occasions, she'd be awake until the crack of dawn. Annabeth's newfound sleeping habits has taken a toll on her health. She hasn't been able to execute herself properly during training and she's beginning to become--Athena forbids--a slow thinker. This hasn't gone unnoticed by Chiron. Just last night after dinner, he pulled her aside to ask her what's been occupying her thoughts. Although she knew it was wrong to do so, she simply shook her head and claimed that there was nothing wrong. When in fact, almost everything in her own life is spiraling downwards.
How could she assure that she was going to keep her fellow campers safe? She needed to make sure that everyone, especially her half-siblings, were going to be okay. At 5:57 AM, she shuffles out of bed as quietly as she can, and slips her feet into her grey sleep shoes. Annabeth had decided that she would do a quick check-up on every camper, just to be sure.
But as she's about to pull on her silk robe over her pajamas, she's astounded to hear a tap on her door. Something's wrong, she concludes. Tying a quick knot on her robe, she hurries to the door and opens it, only to be surprised by who stands on the other side of the door.
"Malcolm?" she whispers in disbelief. "Why are you awake?"
Annabeth shuts the door gently behind her and waits for her brother's explanation. She and Malcolm have always had a close relationship. Even though she hates to play favorites, it could be said that Malcolm the sibling she's most fond of. Despite that he manages to walk in whenever she and Percy are in an, err, intimate position, he's one of the only people Annabeth can truly be herself around.
Just one look at her brother's appearance tells her everything. With the dark half-moons underneath his grey eyes and messy blonde hair, Malcolm hasn't had that much sleep either.

Malcolm thanked the gods Annabeth was awake. Although, after a second glance, he’d rather her be asleep. Annabeth looked terrible. Baggy rings lined her sleep-deprived eyes and her hair was messy and unbrushed. Malcolm wasn’t one to talk though. He hadn’t had a good night of sleep in weeks and his appearance probably reflected his demeanor.
The door closed quietly behind them, and Malcolm buried his head in his hands. ”Dream..” He replied shakily. Malcolm feared heights far more than he was scared of those creepy arachnids. ”Something bad is going to happen Annabeth. Something really bad.”
It took several seconds for Malcolm’s brain to process the dream. Height was his worst fear.. what about everyone else? ”Everyone’s worst nightmare...”
Malcolm shuddered, even thinking about it. Whatever was going to happen must be really bad.
