hollowed out and filled up with hate
It was practically silent; in the midst of the day time where there should usually e dozens of snooty camperrs running around with battle swords and swinging at each-other, it was too obvious to see that something was wrong. Just one sweep of the horizon and you would only really be able to dee the desolation, but as James moved out of the doorway of their temporary sanctity, he took more time in letting his blue eyes pick out the details in the horizon and noticed more and more things about the area; he noticed the dropped weapons and armor, and the shoe that was left just behind the next cabin, and he noticed the smear of red that painted itself against one of the tree trucks.

But then there was the smell, and James really didn't want to spend too much of his thoughts investing into the smell; it smelled like the worst things you could ever imagine, multiplied by ten. James tried to only inhale with his mouth then, looking across at both of the girls and nodding once, "Let's just see if we can find any life out here." he willed hoarsely, deciding to take the lead as he stepping out away from the cabin slowly, his blade drawn and poised and ready to ram it into anything that attacked. He stepped out of the shadow of cabin five, looking over his shoulder and seeing the figures of some of his siblings that had taken place on the roof, ready to fire arrows out at anything that came forth. They were as safe as they were going to be outside right now, with campers over-looking them, although soon James would be stepping out of reach of his siblings.

"We should head over towards the mess hall, I think." He spoke back to the girls, really hoping that they were proceeding onto the path whilst being in a triangle so they had an eye on every direction, "Chances are, there are going to be a few crap-piles holing out there, or around there. It's worth a shot, right?" he reasoned, not really open for discussion. He had decided that he was taking a leadership position in this little trio, even if June and Faye didn't like it; he was the oldest, he was the toughest, therefore he was responsible for the girls.

Then, just as James trudged forth, he saw something hobble out of the shadow in the corner of his eye. Two things, actually, making their way towards the group. James was startled at first, and struggled not to gag; the two creepers looked mutilated, covered in blood and having their limbs almost sewn off, yet James was most startled at the fact that they must've been around Faye's age, which was the sickest thing. It almost made him not want to swing for it, but he remembered all the campers they had already killed and the amount that they might soon kill, and it made James lunge forward and hack at one's neck repeatedly, his blade chopping and chopping it's way into flesh.

faye lynn mcjean

James' voice seemed to drift into the still air, as the Daughter of Athena observed the stillness of the air. Even the air seemed dead, as cabins looked trampled, the ground stained, and the world still. Faye felt like the world was frozen, and only few could move. Only the living, but everything seemed deceased. In the back of her mind, she was searching for Vinnie's corpse, which she had to leave after she killed him. The words stained her mind. She killed him.

Blinking, she followed the other two, knowing she could follow, not just because she didn't have a choice. Faye was scarred, and unstable. The demigod wouldn't even take advice from herself, a scary thought for someone who had just planned out a strategy for the rest of the living campers in cabins five and six. Grey eyes flicked around the courtyard, standing to the left of James. Nothing stirred the thick air, as she did her best to breathe through her mouth. The stench of blood, decayed bodies, and other things she didn't dare to dream of was the worst part. Images could remain just that, but it was the smell that brought it alive and made it vivid.

"Sure," she muttered, the sound of her voice frightening her. She had fought hellhounds, evil demigods, cyclopes, but the mention of fighting someone on their side scared her stiff. Yes, Faye was scared, and there was nothing she could do about it. The snap of noise made her look in James' direction, seeing two of the zombies in their path. Their eyes were too human to belong to such decaying bodies, and the sight was enough to make the average person flee in the other direction, and she almost had the thought for half a second.

Her blade thought for her more than her mind was, at least not consciously. Faye took the second mutant, the edge of the sword digging it's way into the arm of the zombie. A muffled groan emitted from the creature as it took a swing at her, making the demigod sidestepping to the side. She didn't notice that it could send her up against one of the walls of cabin seven, as she just continued to fight. Instincts drove her more than sense  with her strikes intensifying.
