| Landon Alexander Carter Son of Hephaestus Landon sat cross-legged on his bed, surrounded by various tools and parts on his bedspread. He took great care as he tightened the bolts on Rover's winter treads. " Will they work in snow, be waterproof, snowproof, WINDPROOF?" the machine questioned, in normal buzzes that wouldn't mean anything to a mortal. Landon wasn't mortal, and understood exactly what the robot was saying. "Sure, whatever," he muttered, continuing his task.
The robot fidgeted anxiously, wanting to test out his new wheels. "Hold still!" the boy said quickly, holding onto the frame of Rover. "Are you done yet?" the machine whizzed impatiently. "Sure almost ---" Landon began, before Rover ran full speed ahead off of the bed. The boy's heart stopped as he heard the crash of metal on floor, and he bit his lip, not wanting to look over the edge of his bed frame.
A small puff of smoke rose from the robot, to Landon's dismay. "Come on Rover," he said forcefully, taking the dismantled piece of metal in his hands. Large dents revealed where the fall impacted the robot most, as the son of Hephaestus searched for more damage. "You --- fix --- me?" Rover asked, the machine's tones coming out in short slurs. "I hope so," Landon muttered.

| "Come on... stupid piece of metal..." were the words heard wafting from the open doorway of Aether 'Spark' Funkeln's Hephaestus bunk room amongst the hustle-and-bustle, and din of the Hephaestus cabin. Then an aggravated sigh and sounds of a completely renewed effort, when suddenly the sound of a charging weapon-
"No, no, no, NO, oh sh-"
There is a fwip noise of a tension-powered weapon discharging, and then a soft, and quite anti- climatic pew noise. The door, formerly ajar, is now missing an integral hinge, and is now hanging lopsided at a skewed angle.
"Ahh..." A tall, lanky teen who goes by the name of Aether, or less commonly, 'Spark', sticks his head (covered in disheveled brown hair and HUD anti-glare goggles) and examines the sorry state of the door. "And that would be the fifth one this month, you stupid excuse of a bioprosthesis!" Sighing, he steps out from the relatively ominous darkness of his bunk room, and shaking the door which squeals in angry protest, reveals himself. A 5 foot, 11 inch tall seventeen year old, who could pass for any other self-resided other Hephaestus cabinmate if not for his most distinguishing feature: a carbon-fiber and steel alloy arm that replaced flesh, bone, and skin below the left elbow.
Said bioprothesis emits a piteous whine which indicates some devious internal system powering down, and the Allen Wrench or Hex Key that was giving Aether so much trouble drops with a high-pitched clink-cling-clang onto the steel floor. Still muttering darkly to himself, the tall teenager awkwardly kneels down and gropes along the floor in his personal darkness, until resigning to frustration and angrily tearing the dark-lensed goggles from his eyes. "Ah, there you are, Mr. Key."
Right before his slender fingers make promising contact with the L-shaped tool, there is a loud CRASH from the adjacent room, and Aether jumps, nudging the Allen Wrench two inches to the right...
conveniently into a floor heating grille and therefore losing it. "Oh, you gotta be kidding me." Straightening up, he takes a glance at the closed doorway of... uh... Landon's room, he blinks. "I guess... let's go check out what made that apocalyptically loud noise." | |

| Landon Alexander Carter Son of Hephaestus Hearing the muttering of another cabin mate, his eyes instantly shot up. Setting the dysfunctional robot on the cushion of his bed, the boy rose to his feet and leaned too see who exactly was there. Buzzing screaming in his ears, Landon gave Aether a half-hearted wave. "Can I help you?" he asked sceptically.
He had no social skills, even with his own siblings. Today wasn't very different from any other day, being that he didn't want to be bothered by anyone. Still, at the sound of someone's voice, Landon knew it was rude to ignore people.

| Landon Alexander Carter Son of Hephaestus Landon frowned slightly, his eyes shifting over to what was left of Rover. Well, that wasn't exactly the correct terms for the robot. The machine lay on his sheets, creating oil stains on his pearly white bedsheets. Moans of pain and complaints filled the demigod's ears as Landon observed the damage. "I'm fine," he replied slowly, his voice soft.
Seeing him reach for Rover, Landon was about to smack his hand away, before it was taken back. He was protective of his inventions, especially this one. He had been working on Rover since he had arrived at camp. Exposed to machinery and programming as a child, Landon took to it swiftly. The boy fingered the hem of his shirt impulsively, shaking his head.
He didn't mean to be, but the boy was far to prideful and stubborn to let someone help him. "Er, nah, I got this," Landon replied, his gaze on the floor.
