Faye Lynn McJean Daughter of Athena Faye stood at the entrance of the dance, a brilliant light show of red and green behind her. As a Cabin Leader, it was her job to welcome people int othe dance, formally, almost. She didn't want to announce the couples, but a few of them made her. Announcing hadn't ever been her 'thing', and she didn't want to take up the job now. The daughter of Athena could, and did, however fake a smile and loudly speak the couples' names as they entered. The room was filling up fast, and Faye could've help but look frantically around for someone. Vinnie.
She hadn't seen him since she passed out in his arms a few weeks ago, poisioned by a manticore spike. Faye hadn't really been thinking clearly, but somehow came out alright. However, she could've really cared less about that. The tree and her safelty meant almost nothing in comparisson to the co - cabin leader for Hermes. The demigod hadn't seen him in weeks, but she knew he hadn't died, but could he have been kidnapped? She had no idea, and had been frantic with worry ever since. Faye knew how to run a cabin, but with stress and Vinnie on her brain, she was ready for this term to be over. She could've bear anymore Cabin Leader responsiblilites. It was simply too much for her to think through. Faye hated the way she would snap at her siblings now, because they wrecked her train of thought. She hated the way she couldn't even eat all of her lunch without him passing her mind. It was cruel torture.
She smiled as someone else took her lace as announcer, as she took a vacant seat a table back from the dance floor. Her grey eyes drifted off to the floor, lights shining on the bright faces of happy campers, their expressions lost for words, but bound with cheer. Inside, the demigod broke. She wanted desperately to be that happy. She wanted to be swept off her feet, and forget about everything. The stress, loosing Alex, andeverything else. Forgetting wasn't easy, and apparently neither was finding Vinnie. Oh, how she would've loved to ask him. Her heart would've been pounding crazily, with a stupid grin on her face, but Faye wouldn't care! She just loved every second she spent with the Hermes boy.
Chewing the bottom of her lip, the Athena child fingered her tiara. It was something that she got when she was little, but never dared using it. Dress up wasn't very fun to play alone, at least, it hadn't been. Some part of her was hopeful that he would show up, but the odds for that was stacked against her. Faye sighed, slipping a strand of hair behind her ear. Anyone could tell that she wasn't really interested in how she looked, her hair slid into a simple ponytail, pulled at the back of her head, high enough to see, but far enough away to stay out of her face. Her necklace was fake, of course, but fancy as well. Faye wanted it to match her headwear, that she had regretted bringing out. Her dress was simple as well, a deep blue strapless number, with black ballet flats.
"All dressed up and nowhere to go."

| Vincent Thomas Belanov"I walk this fine line between insane and insecure." Vinnie glanced in the mirror one last time before he left for the dance. He had known about the dance for a while now since the other CL's had discussed it ages ago, but Vinnie hadn't expected to be kidnapped. He sure as hell hadn't expected to be ripped right from Faye's life. He gingerly touched the new scars on his face, gazing at the flaws in the mirror. Vinnie knew he was hot, but now... he wasn't so sure. The ugly scars on his face were just a hint of what had actually happened to the rest of his body. At the enemy demigod camp he'd been dragged into, he'd been tortured for information and left to fend on his own for two days with a broken arm. They'd beaten him with hooked whips, given him lashes, burned his skin, tormented him mentally and really just ruined his life. Vinnie was strong, but he wasn't this strong. It was finally at a point at the other camp where they'd thrown Vinnie into a cage with a huge monster and told him to fight until one of them died. Vin had fought a lot of monsters but none as big as that one staring him down.
Just thinking about the cage made Vinnie's back cry out in pain. He winced and tucked a flask into his breast pocket on the inside of his vest. The contents of the flask weren't alcohol tonight. Tonight the silver flask held medicine mixed in with nectar. Vinnie's own personal nectar was a chocolate frosty from Wendy's. He couldn't help it. He loved their Frosty's. He'd never tell anyone about his strange Nectar taste, either. Vinnie turned away from his reflection and spritzed himself with cologne one last time. He really wanted to make an impression on Faye. He'd made a decent one on her the first time they'd met, but now was his time to shine. At the enemy camp, Faye was the one thing that had kept Vinnie alive. He'd thought about her non-stop. Her smell, her smile, her hair, her face, her personality, her everything. At the camp, Vinnie had nearly died during the beatings but just as he was about to drift into unconsciousness, he thought of her face and how disappointed she'd be if he were to die, so Vin kept fighting. He kept fighting for her.
Vin jogged down the dirt path to the Mess Hall, passing all the couples that stopped to try and greet him. He darted in and out of their ways spitting a few apologies here and there, "Sorry, excuse me, sorry..." he muttered, practically sprinting to get to the doors. The greeter at the door grinned at him, but Vin barely looked at them. He was too focused on finding Faye. His eyes desperately scanned the room until he did find her. She was sitting at a table, gazing at the couples on the dance floor with a wistful look on her face. An expression that practically broke Vin's heart. "Gods..." he whispered, strolling over to her. Vin stopped a few feet from her chair and did a quick breath check, praying that she wouldn't turn around to see self-conscious movements. Before he started to move, a thought process suddenly hit him straight in the face. What would he say? He'd been gone for a good week and now he was reappearing out of thin air? Quietly, he heard her mumble something to herself. Perfect. He adjusted his dark blue vest--the same color as her's--and came up behind her.
"For once, daughter of Athena, you're wrong." A grin lit up Vin's eyes and face.

Faye Lynn McJean Daughter of Athena Letting out another pitiful, perhaps unnecessary sigh, she heard a voice. Oh, but it wasn't just any voice. Vinnie. Was it really him, or a simple figment of her demented imagination? The daughter of Athena did a double take, but looked behind her none the less. She didn't know of anyone else that would say something like that, or who would be listening. As soon as her grey eyes saw him. His face, he was there. His signature Hermes grin; Faye felt tears forming in her eyes. She opened her mouth, but nothing came out of it. Vinnie. He was here. Standing in front of her, yet, the demigod didn't believe it. He was here. Alive. Here.
After a few moments of speechless staring, she got out of her chair and shook her head at him, smiling all the while. "Vincent Belanov," the demigod began in a stern tone. Another few seconds and her composure broke. "How dare you ----" Faye began, before the tears began to stream down her face. Silent tears, but tears all the same. She couldn't help herself but to run up to him and hug him properly. She didn't care that she was crying, this was Vinnie. He was here. In front of her. "I-I thought you were gone," Faye breathed, wiping off her tears, that were only replaced with more. She breathed in deeply, smiling softly to herself. He still smelled the same. "I see the soap is working," Faye said with a small laugh, sniffling up her tears. OCC:Please excuse my fugly post. Finnie feels, but my muse obviously doesn't Outfit

| Vincent Thomas Belanov"I walk this fine line between insane and insecure." Vinnie just kept grinning at Faye even when she started to lecture him about something. He just smiled wider, but was taken back when she burst into tears and flung herself into his arms. This is what he'd been waiting for ever since he'd been kidnapped. "Believe, I thought I was going to die, too," he said, his arms circling her waist, holding her close to his chest. He felt her heartbeat against his chest even through his clothes. She could probably feel his, too. Vinnie's adrenaline was pumping again, but it was a different kind of adrenaline versus the kind that he got when he was excercising or fighting or doing anything physical, really. This was an adrenaline that he got from just being around Faye. Gods, Faye. Vinnie smiled to himself while he ran his hands up and down her back comfortingly. The material on her dress was soft in his rough, scarred hands and she felt delicate. Almost like she'd break. But, Vinnie knew she was strong enough.
"It's alright," he said, cradling her close to him, letting her cry. Carefully, he placed a kiss on the top of her head while whispering quietly to keep her calm. "Don't worry, Faye, I got you... I'm here now, everything's going to be okay," he kept his voice low, just for her to hear. Like a secret. Even though they were in the open now, Vinnie felt like it was just the two of them standing there in dance lights. He didn't pull back to answer her when she spoke, "I thought I was gone, too. I thought I was long gone when they took me. That first night that they had me, I sincerely thought I was going to die. They took me into a dark room and they... they beat me," his voice broke on the last note, cracking into a higher octave. He wasn't crying, no, he was just trembling slightly as he spoke, "I thought I was going to die... but then I thought of you. And I realized something that night." Vinnie pulled back this time to face her. He put a finger under her chin and gazed into her eyes. Her stormy grey eyes. "I love you, Faye."

Faye Lynn McJean Daughter of Athena Faye chewed the bottom of her lip, hearing him sat he thought he was going to die too. Die. The word echoed in her mind for a moment, soon comforted with the up and down moment of Vinnie's hands. She hadn't felt so safe in a long time, even knowing that he must've been tortured. Kidnapped. The drum of his heartbeat kept her mind from wandering into the dark thoughts his words were generating. She let out a content sigh as he ran his hands up and down her back, her spine tingling at his soft touch. Faye could almost tell her was hesitant to touch her any harder, like she would break. In all honesty, the daughter of Athena had felt broken recently, but just standing there seemed to make her whole again, like Vin hadn't ever left. Like, nothing happened, and everything was perfect.
His smooth voice kept her from sobbing any more, her tears turning to sniffles. Faye smiled softly, her breathing becoming slower and regaining it's normal rhythm. The demigod hummed to herself, along with the soft music playing in the background. Vinnie's voice was still loud enough to hear him over the music, but just barely whispering. Her tears had stopped, until she heard a word from his whispers. "They... they beat me." Faye chewed the bottom of her lip again, it quivering once more. Swallowing the urge to sob, she tried to keep silent, just listening to his voice and heartbeat. The demigod allowed him to pull away, gazing into his deep, loving eyes again.
His words came as a pleasant shock, feeling the simple warmth of his finger make her want to melt. Faye smiled softly, her eyes still glistening with what was left of her tears. "I love you too,"

| Vincent Thomas Belanov"I walk this fine line between insane and insecure." A crooked grin spread across Vinnie's mouth. His gaze darted from her eyes to her lips and he took her face in his hands, caressing her cheeks with thumbs. For a moment, he just stood there, taking it all in. Faye. It was the here and the now and for a moment, Vinnie could almost forget everything that had happened to him within the last week. He could almost forget his entire lifetime and in that moment, he swore he could see the future and the future had Faye in it. Slowly, Vinnie pulled Faye's head towards him and he bent down, pressing his lips to her's. This wasn't a sad kiss, either, as soon as their lips touched it was like an explosion of fireworks went off above their heads. Metaphorically, anyways. Vinnie grinned into the kiss, his mouth parting slightly. Her lips were soft and warm, just like a girl's should be and they tasted strangely like... oranges. It was a good taste, though. Vinnie pulled back for a moment and his eyelids flickered open.
He rested his forehead on her's and just kept his eyes closed with a smile on his face. Vinnie had moved his arms to circle Faye's waist and now they were just swaying to the music. even though it wasn't a slow song, it was still a good song. It's Time by Imagine Dragons was playing and Vinnie was dancing with the girl that he was in love with. Life wasn't rough, man.

Faye Lynn McJean Daughter of Athena Faye smiled softly, continuing to stare into his beautiful eyes. She couldn't do much more than stare into his eyes, all the while her mind was going a million directions. From her self consciousness telling her to pay attention to what she was doing, to thinking nothing at all. She let her mind wander, and forget about all of the weight on her shoulders, letting them fall off and relax. Faye had to come back to Earth for a moment, feeling Vin pulled her head towards his. She didn't need any encouragement, having imagined this several times in her sleep and daydreams. It was more than she ever imagined, fireworks exploding in her mind as she smiled under the kiss. She had been kissed before, but never like this. Kissing hadn't ever felt this golden, and sacred. Faye smiled as he pulled away, feeling the weight of his head on her's.
The demigod snaked her hands up around his neck, resting her head against him. Faye sighed once more, content and at peace. This is what she had been waiting for, what she had been dreaming of for the past week.

| Vincent Thomas Belanov"I walk this fine line between insane and insecure." Vinnie still wore that wide smile as they continued to sway back and forth. "Hey, Faye?" He breathed. "Do you wanna stay here or go out into the city and do something exciting?" Though his eyes were closed, you could still tell that Vin was excited. Vinnie was definitely a bit of an adrenaline junkie in the way that he was always looking for something new and exciting to do and right now, he had a lot of adrenaline coursing through his veins. Although, maybe it was a good idea to stay at the camp for now. The dance had only just started and this year it wasn't any bit lame. The cabin leaders had taken their time to actually decorate this year. The Hecate kids had done some charming of the ceiling and the minor gods kids helped pitch in to give the Hecate kids a map of the starry night sky so they could create the illusion of a sky.

Faye Lynn McJean Daughter of Athena Faye closed her eyes, the gently swaying almost making her want to just lie down and breathe for a moment. A smile still sat on her face, almost permanent. She felt as though she would be wearing this very expression all the time now. She wanted to, to say the least. Hearing Vin's smooth voice once more, her smile widened. "Yes," Faye said, lifting her head from his chest. "Right now," she said, reaching for his rough hand. "Let's go." She let a small laugh escape her lips as she looked up at the ceiling, or was it the night sky? The daughter of Athena couldn't really tell, but whatever it was, was surely a beautiful sight. Red and green lights flashing in her face, she turned to him, tugging on his arm playfully. "Come on." Outfit

| Vincent Thomas Belanov"I walk this fine line between insane and insecure." Surprise played across Vinnie's face when she pulled him away. He made a 'not bad' face and went along with it. Vinnie gave Faye's hand a squeeze and intertwined their fingers. He tugged her out the door of the Mess Hall. He swung his hand a bit and said, "There's this great little place in Brooklyn that I think you'll really like. It's a bit messy, though." He gave her a grin, keeping what he in store for her a secret. Maybe they'd come back to the dance later, who knew? He didn't care. He just wanted to have a good time tonight with Faye. His Faye.
