all the other kids with the pumped up kicks
Pushing his hands inside the pockets of his jeans, Damon finally took a step out of his cabin into the harsh coldness that was the winter day. His bottom lip jutted out as his teeth started to chatter and he wondered whether he was wearing enough. There weren’t that many people around; not at ten o’clock in the morning, of course. He and his siblings were used to getting ready, seeing as most of them needed to spend about two hours apply their beauty products. That’s why Damon had woken up before them all; so he could grab a quick shower and spray hairspray over his hair. That was as far as beauty products went for him. He had never been the type of kid that would ever care about what he looked like that much; everyone had pushed him about anyway, never mind starting on his appearance as well. Many would argue that was because the kids had had nothing to bully him about when it came to his looks but Damon didn’t really listen enough to develop his own opinion; he was only just starting to forget theirs.
Damon had to be the oldest person that was to head to one of these ‘English’ lessons, if not the only one. He hadn’t really been to one before so he expected it to be full of illiterate children that would spend most of their time flicking bogeys around and dribbling everywhere. He didn’t think he would be able to handle all of that crap, so he hovered outside for a little bit before he would head through the threshold of the library. The young adult wasn’t good with socialisation or much confrontation of any kind, and you couldn’t really blame him if you knew the story of his background. That is why he didn’t want to take part in this if there were a lot of people there. He had always been picked on for not talking as well as most his age would, so he was a little tentative in that department. Who wouldn’t? He just stumbled over quite a few of his words, and he stuttered quite a bit as he had learnt English at such a late age, so it wasn’t a fluent for him. He hoped that here, at these lessons, he would be able to get better at it.
Glad to find that the library was pretty much empty, Damon moved forward to take one of the seats around a round table near the edge of the room. He kept facing the door so he could see if anyone came in, looking down to his lap and twiddling his thumbs without thinking due to his ADHD. He didn’t know whether he should just bail or not. Before he could get out of his, he saw movement a head of him but didn’t look up at first to see who it was. He doubted they would even make any attempt to talk to him; he was just waiting for the teacher, or whatever.

Hana didn't know how Chiron always managed to find her when she hid. No one else could ever find her, but Chiron, that strange horseman, always pulled her out of a nook or cranny and explained why she had to go to "english lessons." Today, she had pleaded with the man, promising that she could speak perfect english, but it didn't help when she got confused in the middle of her sentence and spoke a little bit of Swedish. Hana knew english, she had used it to talk to Alice back in the orphanage, but she had also been able to mix Swedish into her sentence and still be consider a good english speaker. Now, in New York, things were different, and it was apparent that she was struggling. The daughter of Hermes didn't like going to the library to be taught a language she already knew, though, so she avoided it at all costs. Chiron always found her. After being sent on her way, Hana trudged to the library, dragging her feet along the ground as she walked. She was usually much faster when she walked, but with no motivation, she was slower than the turtle in that one children's story. "I know how to speak English," Hana mumbled, furrowing her brow. She kicked a rock and watched it soar towards a tree bordering her walk of shame. "I'm not two years old." Hana hugged herself as she finally reached the library doors. She didn't want to go in. She was already late after hiding out in a nymph's house, and she didn't like getting too much attention, especially in the current embarrassing situation. In the end, though, she pushed open the door and welcomed in the smell of books. There was hardly anyone in the library, and the usual Athena teacher wasn't waiting where he always sat. Instead, there was a sculpted, foreign beauty waiting in her seat. Okay, it's fine, he must have been new. She could deal with that, but she was sure that he wasn't going to be teaching her. Where was her teacher? If Hana had to show up, so did her teacher. Awkwardly, Hana stood in the doorway before getting thrown sideways glances from demigods who wanted to read. She closed the heavy doors and stepped slowly towards the tables she should have been seated in ten minutes ago. "Um, hej. I mean—hey. Do you know if... there's a teacher here or something?" Hana spoke quietly, but directly to the boy sitting down. Feeling uncomfortably tall, Hana sat at the boy's table, placing herself across from him so as to not get too close. "Chiron... wanted me to come learn english." "I already know english. This is stupid." "Am I in the right... place?" Hana played with her hands uncomfortably as she readied herself to stand up. She was struggling to not mix up her languages, seeing as she had already messed up. In English you said hey. In Swedish you said hej. She needed to learn not to blend the lines... "You know what, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have come here—" Hana looked down and tucked some of her hair behind her ear.

Finding that it was actually a pretty girl that was approaching him, it made Damon want to bail out even more. He couldn't properly have a conversation or talk to anyone; let alone an attractive girl. It was just humiliating to be going to these leasons, although this was his first. He had lived in the country all his life, learnt the language at the age of six and hadn't been able to speak it fluently for a good few years. Because of this, he struggled to pronouce certain words correctly and he didn't help that he hardly ever talked so he couldn't get any 'practice' in. But the girl walked in front of him nevertheless and even though Damon remained seated, he wouldn't meet her eyes. He didn't with anyone.
Yet the girl had immediately shown him kindness and compassion with her quiet words so Damon would not Ignore her like he would normally do someone. Instead, he continued to fidget with his hands, playing with the hem of his black sweater. When he chose to answer the girl, his answer was brief and voice husky from lack or use. Or that was his natural voice? He couldn't even remember. "He isnt here yet." was all he said, stating the obvious but really not giving a damn. The eighteen year old was quite intrigued when the girl took the set across from himself yet didn't show it. He was pretty gold at masking whatever pain might be within; except when he had suffered from depression. "Yeah, you are." He confirmed again, not being able to stop himself that time. Everything he said was slow and careful; making sure he didn't make a stupid mistake with his language. He frowned after hearing the foreign girl speak, not being able to really detect any change of vocal patterns. He could not. "Why are you here? You sound fine to me." he complimented, once again speaking sLowly.

Hana tried not to notice how unresponsive the demigod was at first out of fear of making assumptions, but it was hard when the boy didn't seem capable of meeting her gaze. "I'm like this," Hana decided in her head, smiling comfortingly and crossing her arms. She was wearing a large, blue and white stripped sweater, along with a pair of black jeggings and her dirty-looking, worn out, white converse. She squirmed in her seat before shutting her eyes. The boy's response filled her ears and aroused a smile out of Hana. The boy had a particularly husky voice, and she found it a little different. Most people at camp were posh or sounded like they were from New York, and it was annoying. "Good, he won't know I was late, then." Hana's accent was clearer and stronger as she began to speak more. For someone who had not heard a Swedish teenager talk, it might be hard to pick out Hana's accent, but it was definitely there, just faint and getting fainter still. She nodded at the boy when he confirmed that she was indeed where she should have been. "Maybe he won't come." Hana smiled despite herself. Why would she want that? She didn't want anyone else to complain to Chiron about not being able to understand her. Hana tried to make eye contact with the other demigod as she contemplated his question, blushing at what she took to be a compliment. "Really? Chiron makes me. I grew up in—" Hana stopped herself before she said 'an orphanage,' unwilling to give away her story. "in Sweden, so he's worried that I will have trouble talking. I don't." Hana rubbed her arm and tossed some of her hair back. "You sound pretty good, too." The daughter of Hermes wasn't going to lie, it was obvious the boy was trying his best and straining together his sentences straight, but she was struggling, too. She understood, and hey, he hadn't messed up and accidentally spoken a little bit of a completely different language. That had been Hana. "Ja—I mean yeah. Yeah. Ja. I don't really want to be here." Hana shrugged lifelessly and snorted.

Okay, so the girl was definitely here for the lesson although she didn’t seem happy about it. From what she had already told him and the way she spoke about the whole subject, she really seemed like she was here against her will. Damon wouldn’t be here either if he wasn’t so fearful that someone would pick him out on the way he spoke. He wanted to be even more fluent than he was; speaking with pace and rhythm instead of making sure he didn’t stumble over his words and make a mess of everything. Although he knew that he couldn’t do that on is own, and therefore he decided to come here. He didn’t know what he was letting himself in for, with this lesson that seemed to be filled with so much ‘potential’ so far, but he was sure that if the teacher wasn’t here in five minutes he would certainly get up and leave. He wasn’t going to waste his afternoon sitting here and staring at a clock.
The girl across from his certainly seemed hopeful that the guy wouldn’t show up and he thought the worst. Frowning, Damon drummed his fingers on the wooden table before him and concentrated on that instead of making eye contact with her. He didn’t like looking someone directly ion the eye; it scared and bewildered him. He licked his lips, having not normally have continued with the conversation in any other scenario. Now though he was slightly curious, and he really had no way of escaping the chatter seeing as she seemed to be taking the same class as him. Damon was pretty glad that the girl complimented him instead of insulting him like most would, although his face remained expressionless. Although, if you looked closely, you could see a small twitch of the corner of one of his lips. “Uh, thanks.” He mumbled, frowning and looking around the practically-empty room. “Neither do I, really. Why don’t you just d-ditch?” he asked, his voice wavering slightly.

Hana looked away from the boy and shook her head. "I've thought about it before, but... I think I need this." Hana shrugged and sighed loudly. Sweden. That's where she had grown up, and she had been driven to America because of her parentage. She was being forced into the life of an outcast, and while she liked camp and she didn't have anything against anyone yet, she didn't like being the weird girl. That was what life had been like in the orphanage. Hana wanted change. "I'm used to being so olika. That means different." Hana laughed lightly and leaned back in her chair. She would leave if the teacher didn't show up soon. "Chiron makes me come because someone complained to him about... not being able to... understand me." Hana almost tripped over her words, but she was unwilling to make too many mistakes. And if she did make mistakes, she wanted to remember to correct them. She was in a place where she could show her ability to speak english off. It was starting to get to her head. "I hate when people... say things about it, so I usually stay for class. Why don't you? Ditch, I mean."

Growing easily bored already, Damon really was about to just get up off his butt and leave. He didn’t really like speaking as it made him uncomfortable, and the girl seemed like the type that would continue a conversation. He didn’t have anything against her; she seemed nice, but he just wasn’t good at keeping up conversation. He said a few last words though, not wanting to just leave abruptly. “Well, that sounds like total bull because…I can’t understand you.” He told her, looking up at her for a quick second again before back at the table. He felt her eyes on him but he ignored the feel of her gaze, knowing that it would go away soon enough. Maybe this girl knew how he felt more than he was giving her credit for; it certainly sounded like she did. Maybe she wasn’t so bad. “Yeah.” He nodded, meeting her eyes for a single split second before them moved over to a group of boys his age that were approaching them.
Damon knew by just the look of the two boys that they were ready to take the piss. What were they doing in a library; they didn’t even look clever enough to count to five! Seeming to be completely oblivious to him at first, they both pulled up chairs around the circular table closer to the girl across from him. Damon would like to have assumed that they knew the girl, but the way they were both looking at her made him think they didn’t have very nice intentions. In all honesty, Damon could definitely imagine what they were thinking, and he didn’t think she would really be thrilled. “You two waiting for someone?” One of them asked and Damon already knew that they knew something that he didn’t. “because we can keep you company if you’re bored, sexy.” Damon was so glad that that wasn’t directed at him as that would be freaky. He watched the two boys shuffle closer on either side of the girl, almost blocking any chance of her escape.

Hana smiled a small but reassuring smile at Damon before taking up interest in her nails and observing them silently. She wasn't actually interested in what they looked like, but she wanted to appear occupied if there was going to be an awkward silence. Silence wasn't so bad, honestly. Words confused Hana, words in any language, and she was a bigger fan of action, but she felt less comfortable sitting solemnly. "Bull?" she mumbled, before deciding it must have been some variation of a cuss word. She relaxed a bit when Damon actually met her gaze, before following his eyes to the pair of older teenagers. She silently hoped they would pass their table by, but no matter how good Hana was at stealing, she did not have magical abilities, and she couldn't steer the obviously aroused boys away. She wasn't easy, and she didn't like talking to people like that. She didn't really like talking to people at all! And on top of everything, she was in a horrible mood after being dragged to the library. Of course, something about the boy across from her had calmed her down, but she was still not in the mood to be harassed. She cursed quietly in Swedish, knowing that it could be a language she could get away with. She was almost positive she was the only Swedish child in the Greek library. "Yes," Hana answered, brushing some of her hair out of her face. "Don't call me that." Hana was blushing, and she was being pushed against the table by the boys with no sense of personal space. Idiots. "I have someone to keep me company, thank you very much." The demigod regretted saying it instantly, because she wasn't sure how the boy at the table would respond. She blinked several times before shaking her head. "You know what, actually, I was just about to leave, so... 'scuse me." Hana stood up, but was pressed closer to the table by the boys. "Gå bort," Hana whispered, standing up as straight as she could, but still feeling small. "Jag är inte att sådär." 'Go away,' she had said. 'I'm not like that,' she had said. Aggravated, Hana pushed on the boys, trying to get them to take a hint and step away, but they only chuckled and clicked their tongues. 'Speak French to me,' they had requested. They were stupid. Still, she wanted them to leave. Stupidity was no excuse. "Leave, you two need to leave." Hana mumbled through clenched teeth, pushing them away lightly, but not moving them. "Where's Clark?" she whispered, not wanting Damon to hear and knowing they were friends with her usual teacher. They exchanged glances and shrugged. 'He told us he wasn't coming in today. I don't know why. Come on, just relax.' That angered Hana, being asked to relax while she was being harassed, which would likely lead to being felt up—and in a library! Hana could deal with rude and blunt, but disrespectful was completely out of the question. She was a fragile girl emotionally, though you would think the orphanage would make her strong. If anything it made it harder for her to keep herself together. The boys and girls orphanage had been a place where she wasn't really safe from unwanted male attention, though the nuns usually stopped that. Hana didn't know how to deal with herself. "Asshole," Hana muttered, frowning at the boys and turning towards the other demigod. She looked helpless, and she was starting to feel hands on her. She immediately spun back around to face the boys. "What are you doing?" she hissed, struggling to remain quiet, though there were only three or so other people in the building, and one of them was leaving. It was a library. You were quiet and polite and you kept to yourself in a library. "Don't ... you can't ... rör me." Hana's eyes were wide and she barely managed to peel the boy's hand away before they sat down at stared suggestively up at her. Why wouldn't they leave? Or at least let Hana leave? The girl's bottom lip quivered and she felt like crying. She wasn't going to, she wouldn't let herself cry anymore, but she wanted to.

It didn't take an idiot to realise that the two boys that were intimidating to girl weren't used to being rejected. In fact, most girls were probably too scared by their attitudes to say no to them. Damon was able to almost become invisible to them as they ignored him, only having eyes for the pretty girl. Damon could slip out of the library unnoticed If he left now without a word, but he didn't want to imagine what they would do to her If they were alone. He could live with that kind of guilt, and the girl had been pleasant with him from the beginning. She hadn't picked out the flaws of his speech, and therefore owed her In a weird sense. Because of this, he wouldn't leave her with these pushy boys although he just watched at first. He watched and stared as the guys his age pressed closer to her on either side and put their hands where they didn't belong. That was when he got the change of catching the girl's eyes for a brief second time, seeing how frightened she was. He had been scared like her once. He knew how it felt to be degraded.
"Maybe you should get off her n-now." Damon suggested, his blunt tone slicing through the tense atmosphere are feeling the boy's eyes turn finally to him. Christos didn't like to fight really, but he was good at it and if they were going to take this any further then he would resort to physical punishment. "Who d-do you think you're t-talking to, freak?" One of them mocked, a cruel and snide grin twisting on their foul lips. Damon's dark eyes hardened, glistening with anger immidiatly. Punching these guys was sounding better by the minute. "Got a bit of a st-stutter have we, st-stupid?" the other joined In, and Damon felt like it was middle school all over again. He clenched his jaw, trying to block them both out and focus on the Swedish girl only.
She looked like she was about to cry, and the quiet boy felt even more angry that these lads were doing this to her. They had lost intrest in him once more and one leaned forward to whisper something in her ear. Damon quickly got to his feet and moved towards the door, about to leave when he did a loop and pulled back behind the three. He grabbed the girls chair from behind, pulling it out and way from the table brutally so she was no longer between the boys before he grabbed a fistful of her striped sweater and pulled her up away from their grubby hands. The boys got up as well and closer to the son of Aphrodite who tried to stand his ground but felt his walls breaking. "What d'ya think you're doing, stutter?" One asked, grabbing the girl again.

Hana balled her hands into fists when the jackwagons started making fun of the boy who was actually trying to help her. She hadn't expected that, but it meant a lot. She wasn't getting overlooked like she usually did. Overlooked or thought to be worthless. Her instinct to trust quickly was kicking in, and she decided that the boy was okay. She wasn't quite sure how to stick up for him, though. That feeling sucked. "Making fun of someone isn't ... attractive." Hana hesitated before finding the words to speak. The idiots chuckled and rolled their eyes, obviously not feeling sorry, and still believing they had been clever. "Oh, dra åt helvete." Hana moaned, biting her lip and snorting at her own profanity. All the translation you're going to get is that she cussed at the boys. In English, it would have a similar meaning to 'go to hell.' Their hands were cold. That was the first thing Hana had noticed. The second thing was that they were not only intrusive, but brought a bit of pain as they touched her carelessly. Hana wasn't a weak girl, but she was bothered by the groping. She was relieved to get away from the boys, and as Damon grabbed her shirt, she tried to steady herself by grabbing onto his. She couldn't even get a hold on his arm before the two boys had taken her back into their hands, one holding her by her waist, the other trying to look tough in front of the son of Aphrodite. (surely that's what he was.) "Don't call him that," Hana snapped, strongly considering kneeing the one holding her in the groin. What did they plan to do? Wait, never mind, she didn't want to know. "Perverts." Hana brought back her elbow, which jammed into the older boy's rib cage. He huffed and loosened his grip on the daughter of Hermes enough for her to break free. Unwilling to get back in their arms, Hana rushed towards the good boy, almost slamming into him in an awkward embrace before grabbing his forearm and directing him in the direction of the door. "Tack, thank you, tack, tack," she whispered, just loud enough for the boy to hear. The boy she hadn't elbowed spoke up loudly, though, for some reason not done tormenting the pair. It was probably a pride thing. "Y-You got yourself a g-girlfriend, Stutter? Did I t-touch your girl?" Hana let go of Damon and shut her eyes tightly before opening them quickly and facing the boy. "Why can't you stop?" It wasn't a question. Hana was quiet obviously angry. She was just a powerless girl, but she shouldn't be taken for granted. "Your sexual frustration shouldn't be ... taken out on other p-people." Hana cursed again in Swedish when she stuttered, having been too angry to concentrate. "I didn't want to do someone who can't speak right, anyway." Hana blindly reached for the Aphrodite boy's arm, trying to appear unaffected by the jab. Idiots. They were just idiots, but still... they were so rude. They were seeming so dangerous.

Anyone that had even been trying to have a conversation with Damon for even the shortest amounts of time would realize that he hardly ever opened his lips to mumble for than a word…ever. So, despite these intimidating assholes trying to push them both around with their spiteful words, Damon held his own and kept his jaw clenched so he wouldn’t blurt out a string of profanities. That would probably be the most he would be able to say to them. He didn’t pull the girl back towards him when the two grabbed her again, not knowing whether she would be angry at him if he ended up hurting her whilst prying them from her grip. From the way they were acting, he doubted so. He didn’t like their attitude and acting people that acted like that. Like they didn’t understand that they were pushing people too far and if they did know, which these did, they didn’t care anywhere. His fists clenched again as his anger grew, his ADHD meaning that he was probably bout to do something really stupid. He wondered how long he would be able to hold it back.
Feeling the girl jump back and hurtle into him, he put an arm out to awkwardly steady her before letting it drop almost straight away back at him side. He was looking behind her at the two boys that seemed like they wanted to grab her again but couldn’t be bothered as much as they previously had been. Damon was still anticipating some sort of brawl. Barely moving when the Swedish girl pulled him along towards the door, he nodded slightly at her thanks to show that he had heard her but chose not to verbally answer. But, when they could have left it, the two perverts had to continue with their insults and ‘jokes’, turning on him again. If looks could’ve killed, Damon would have turned them into a pile of ash by now.
Damon tired to block everything out then, but struggled. He snorted when the Swedish girl made her comments towards when they were now turning on him, not being able to stop himself adding a small comment even though he was angry. “Sexual d-decline, you mean.” He didn’t even care if the two guys looked even more pissed off after that, seeing as it were probably true. Knowing what his sisters were like, he doubted any girls at all would be bothered with them after the way they spoke to people. Damon shrugged his arm out of the girl’s grip when she tried to pull him away again, standing tall and straight in front of the guy that had been making most of the cruel comments towards them both. The boy seemed to smirk when he noticed how Damon was hesitant to move, about to rub it in. “Something bothered you, stutter?” he asked, hardly able to finish his sentence before Damon’s fist connected his the side of his jaw, causing a nauseating crack sound in both his face and Damon’s fingers. “I’m sure that I can s-speak better than you now.” The eighteen year old spat at him, finally turning on his heel to leave the library before they could be jumped and pulling the girl along with him with his good hand, not wanting to look at the hand he had just punched with.

Hana's face lost any emotion it had once held once the boy's fist connected with the other boy's jaw. She felt torn. She didn't usually mind violence, but she didn't want to give the two idiots more to be mad about. Hana didn't like being on the other end of a prank. She did crack a cocky smile when the good boy spat a good comeback at the one idiot. Before the son of Aphrodite grabbed her arm, the daughter of Hermes caught of glimpse of the kid's jaw. It was obviously popped out of place, and was already turning dark purple. The girl cringed, and allowed herself to be pulled away. After exposing herself to the fresh air, Hana reached for a pillar to steady herself with, breathing heavily from the exhilaration and the panic attack that had almost hit her. She wasn't easily upset about things, because she was usually a rock. Now, though, she wasn't anything of the sort. Those boys could have taken her. She was just 16, and they had been what looked like 18 years old. She was safe because of the boy, and she didn't even know his name. After finally catching her breath and finding she could keep her tone even, Hana spoke up. "That was... I don't know what that was. Tack—I mean thanks." Hana smiled down at her shoes, too nervous to look up. She was afraid she was catch sight of the boy's hand and fight for sanity all over again. "My name's Hana." Hana looked up as she said her name and crossed her hands behind her back. She smiled tentivitely, then looked back in the library. She could barely see through the tinted windows, but it looked like the boys had gone out through the back door, probably trying to save themselves from too much embarrassment. "I don't even know those boys..." Hana shook her head and looked down again, peering up at Damon through almost shut eyelids. "Thank you."

Damon's first inclining was to just get the heck out of there and check out his hand, because he really didn't want to look at it right now. He would bet his life that it looked gross, and therefore he just took a deep breath instead of checking it out. He wasn't a normally queasy guy, bit he didn't want to panic or panic the girl that he had just 'helped'. He was a little scared that his fingers would be bent in the completely wrong direction. It can't be that bad. Not too bad. That's what he told himself anyway. Damon pressed his back against one of the pillars, letting his head fall back against the stone. He didn't like violence that much. He could throw a punch when he had to - like then - but he didn't go throwing his weight around, groping vulnerable teenage girls and picking a fight like they had. He kept his head down and would stay quiet.
Moving his hand behind his back in a attempt to forget about it for a while, Damon nodded when the girl continued to thank him, not really knowing what to say. He wanted her to realise that she really shouldn't be thanking him this much, seeing as what he did could've got her in an even worse situation, but he didn't speak up. He winced slightly before forcing his expression to smooth out once more. He was trying to stay calm, although he could feel his stress rising. "I'm...Damon." He finally told her, after a moments hesitation. Christos didn't think they had known her, seeing how the two boys had treated her so cruelly. "Honestly, don't m-mention it." He finally stopped her, his mouth finally curving up into a small smile.

hana marie constance
Hana's shoulders went slack, feeling a little relief. Damon. The boy was completely human. He had a name, and he was real. Someone was actually willing to look out for her. She didn't have to be the tough loner girl. Well, she didn't have to be friendly and sociable, but she could be nicer. She could be a little bit more open if there were more people like Damon. She could stop hanging out with only her brothers and sisters. It was a little sad, especially considering the fact that she still managed to be pretty popular around camp. "Okay, but... it means a lot. I know what would have happened. It could have happened." Hana shivered and dabbed at her eyes. She wasn't close to crying, but she felt haunted by the new thoughts. She could have been taken, like, that kind of taken. But she hadn't been. She wouldn't thank Damon again, but she wanted to keep talking to him. "They opened a Jul—excuse me, Christmas-holiday thing recently. If you want to get away from here, that's where I'll probably be going. Away from here, a lot of people. Sounds nice. They probably have ice, for um... for your hand." Hana's full sentence were short and clipped. She was struggling again, especially with her holidays and winter things. Sweden was like a winter-beach paradise. She knew most about the cold time. Smiling shyly at Damon, Hana pushed her hair back. She was unsure and uncertain, and her legs shook slightly.

all the other kids with the pumped up kicks
Damon didn't feel comfortable in crowds, in a sense. There were too many people and he was a socially awkward lad anyway. The two didn't mix very well. But, in a different and slightly bemusing way, he felt better when there were a lot of people shielding him from independant view. He could blend In easier rather than be right in the centre of attention. Even though he thought this, the idea of ice was the only thing that sold the offer to him. He squinted off into the distance as he though before letting his head move stiffly in a nod. "Ice. Yeah, Ice." He agreed verbally, feeling the ache in his wrist but still refusing to look. "That would be g-good." Damon pushed himself off the pillar with his back and started to pace himself along to the forest, assuming that Hana was keeping up.
Beneath the stuble on his cheeks and jaw, the cold wind was making Damon blush a little bit. His sweater was enough to keep the heat out somehow but his face and hands were cold. Actually, his hands were like Ice. Shoving his good one in the pocket of his jeans, Damon deliberated whether to make conversation with Hana. It was slightly awkward because of how little they knew each-other, but he tried to Ignore that. She was sticking around at least, right? "So, uh, who's you g-God parent?...And why are you so far from home?" The son of Aphrodite wondered, his lips pressing Into a line as he walked towards the woods.
