The air is freezing... (Shadeslayer)

I ran. Not from anything...just to run. I spotted a large sand dune, and started to slow down. Then, when I was there I plopped down.
I was hot. As soon as I thought it, an icy wind blew from behind me. That happened. But I hoped it didn't start to snow. That happened too. Slowly, I pulled my bag from my back, and opened the zip. Inside was a bottle of water which I opened and quickly poured over my head. My blond hair clung to my head, and I shook it out. The wind would eventually dry it.
I watched the rolling waves that looked a sapphire blue in the light.

I was startled by a movement by a rock close to where I sat. I jumped up and looked around wildly, spotting a boy.
'What are you doing here?' I asked,'Wait let me refrase the question. Who are you?'
I wasn't a mean girl, or trying to be mean, but he had frighented me. The wind around me grew colder, and my hair started to whip around. The temperature of my hands dropped, but I tried desperatly to not have it drop to low for my sword to emerge from the claddagh ring on my index finger.

The wind slowly stopped, but I was still colder then a normal human would have been able to withstand.
I raised my eyebrow, and smiled slightly.
'No name? Interesting. And I didn't say anything about you not being allowed here. But you should cough, or bang to warn people you there,' I said.

'Well, you scared me. I'm not going to pretend you didn't. Why don't we start with "Hi I'm Buffy", now are you going to introduce yourself?' I smiled.
The temperature around me warmed up by a few degrees. Thank the Gods.

I laughed.
'I know what your thinking. But don't worry. I don't bite,' I said,'Godly parent?' I asked.
He must have thought I was going to freeze him, or start a snow storm, but with the temperature rapidly rising, it was unlikely.

I chuckled and grinned.
'You probably should worry though,' As I said it, the temperature dropped suddenly again. But I instantly brought it back up again.
'Kidding. Athena. Should have guessed. You have the grey eyes. I'll try not to drop the temperature again. It happens sometimes,' I looked up,'Sometimes it snows too. But not now.'
I smiled and fidgeted with the ring on my finger.

I was shocked.
'Do I have like, a stalker now? How did you kknow that? And I do control it. I can do this,' I held out my palm.
In the center of my hand, a frost grew. It grew until it completly covered my hand. Then I shook it off.
'See? I can control it. And you know, you might want to watch what you say next time, because you wouldn't want to be frozen, would you?' I warned, but I was slightly exaggerating.
I couldn't permanently freeze someone. Only temporarily.

I cocked my head to the left. He was actually quite interesting.
'I could maintain it if I wanted. But I, unlike you, can withstand them type of temperatures. But if I stayed that low, it would have eventually gottn lower because of the winds, and then you would have frozen, whether you liked it or not. But I won't deny that it alters with my mood changes. It does. And sometimes not for the better. As for the fact you have nothing to fear from me, your right there too. I don't have any intention to hurt anyone,' I smiled.
I turned and looked down the beach. Far down, I could see my dog Keno sniffing at something or another in the gritty sand.
'Keno! Come on boy,' I called to the wolf hybrid puppy.

I laughed as Keno clumsily made his way over, running.
'Your right. Hybrid. Wolf Hybrid in fact. He can withstand the temperatures in the cabin, and he puts up with my mood swing changes. Keno was a gift from my mother. The only one I ever got from her,' I smiled.
Keno came over and yapped as he rubbed against my leg. Then he noticed Conrad and growled, baring his teeth.
'Keno, unlike me, has no qualms over hurting someone. Actually, he's only ever liked three people. Kendra Lehane, Auburn Spallin and Veronica Lyric. You don't seem likely to make the list,' As I said it, Keno stopped growling and catiously inched toward Conrad,'Or maybe I spoke to soon. Do you have pets? Or powers?' I asked grinning.

The smile slid from my face.
'Powers! Abilities! Like me being able to lower the temperature. Auburn Spallin being able to make rainbows appear!' I said.
Keno stopped inching towards Conrad, and turned quickly to run back to me. I bent down and rubbed him on the ears, before picking him up into my arms.

'Wow. I know this girl, named Kendra, who got knocked out about four days ago. She was claimed at the Hermes cabin, and she fell down the stairs, hitting her head on a rock. She was in a coma for three days. Then, when she woke up, for the day that she woke up, she could move crutches across the room. She can't do it now, but she could. It's cool. But I didn't think a child of Athena could do that,' I smiled.
Keno jumped out of my hands and started to run down the beach.

I raised my eyebrow.
'Your strange. Did anyone ever tell you that?' I asked him, smiling.

I grinned.
'Well whoever told you is right. But not that I'm not strange. I am. But still,' I laughed, looking down the beach again.
