Coming back..Daughter of Iris (Open)

She plopped her ruck sack onto the sleeping bag. Auburn was just back from her trip to Iowa. It had took her two weeks, but everything was sorted. Now all she had to do was start settling back into the everyday cycle of camp life. It should'nt be too hard. She had lived here four years.
She laid out her sleeping bag in the little alcove. She prefered it here. The big statue of Hera didn't have a direct line of vision here. The brazier that had been here was lit, but thankfully, not moved back into the space.
The pictures of her dad were there on the walls. He had been goodlooking, or at least Auburn had thought so. When her dad had die- Of subject Auburn, she scolded herself. It didn't do to dwell on that. She sat down. The social services people had given her a lot of paperwork to give her 'new foster parents'. She snorted and threw them into the fire. She watched them burn, curling and smoking. Then, she pulled out a mirror and started to re-apply her eye-shadow. She would never forget her father, but he was gone.

Pip got up off her bunk, slidding on her slippers and trudging towards Auburn. "Hey, your back." Pip has fallen asleep after coming back from training. She'd taken a shower so, she didn't smell at least. Her wet black and purple hair hung in her face. Yawning, she started to talk. "So, how was Iowa?" Pip yawned again, putting her hands infront of her mouth.

Pip came over. The day before I left, she had been doing something (So much had happened in Iowa, it was forgotten now). She seemed alright, and I counted her as a friend.
'Iowa...Was okay. The mist worked nicely. The social services people-slash-losers believe that I found a new foster family in New York. If you leave out the part where I had to spend four nights in a jail cell because of the fact I ran away, got a tatto illegally, and basically crossed the continent, it was like a holiday.' It seemed a bit harsh to be that mean.
'Sorry Pip. It's just, now I'm on my own, you know? I was minded since I was like four, by different people, but now I'm not in the system anymore. I won't have another foster family. I can basically do what I want now,' I smiled, sofenting the words and letting the rainbows I had worked so hard to conceal for two weeks float around me. Taking a quick glance into the mirror, I realized my eyes weren't caramel brown anymore. Now they were dark violet. Strange, but being a daughter of Iris meant that my eyes changed, and rainbows floated around me mostly all the time.
'So how are you?' I asked.

Pip nodded. It was nice that she was sort of happy. "Well, Iowa sounds interesting." Pip smiled and sat down on the bunk across from Auburn's. "I'm good. Same as always. Nothings really changed around here." Pippa shrugged. It wasn't exactly fhe pinnocle of fun around here. If you wanted to be burned by lava or stabbed with sword then, it would be fun. But, too bad Pip didn't like almost being killed. "I almost sliced this persons neck last week...he stole my tatertots. No one steals my tatertots."

'Tatertots? Okay, I'm gone for the first time in four years, and you try kill someone over tatertots?! That's just a little bit silly Pip. How's Tootsie?' I smiled, remembering her cute little cat.
I lay back into the little alcove. There weren't many of us sleeping in the brazier alcoves, but I wasn't putting up with Queen Hera's stare. It was like she was saying, 'You want to stay here? Too bad. If you want to stay here you have too put up with my Godly death stare...so there!' Not that I didn't like Hera, but...she was spooky when she was staring at you. No, much easier to sleep in an alcove out of her line of vision.
'Pip, if I show you something, you can't tell anyone, okay? I'm not sure is it allowed...' I drifted off, raising an eyebrow, waiting for an answer.

"Tootsie's fine." Pip smiled and looked around the cabin for her beloved cat. "I guess she's sleeping." Pip turned her gaze back to Auburn. "Uhh, sure." She had a confused look on her face. What was she talking about? Pip motioned for her to go on.

Pip looked really confuddled, and it made me laugh.
'Don't worry! I'm not going to show you a dead body or anything! It's just...I got the train back from Iowa...And in the station, I heard a noise, and...I'll just show you,' I turned to my rucksack, and carefully opened it.
I reached inside and took out the tiny little kitten that I had found on the tracks. Too be honest, it was worth nearly getting smushed by a coal train, just to save it.

'Pip, your the first person I've told about her. I'm not exactly an animal person, but I like her. I almost got squished, so I should. I'm thinking of calling her Blue. Well, what do you think?' I asked her, carefully repositioning my hand to cup her.

Pip gasped and got up to pet the kitten. "She's so cute! Yay! Tootsie has a new friend!" Pip hugged Auburn then, started to pet the cat. "Blue is a beautiful name." Pip cupped the cats face and cooed. "You're so cute!"

'Gods, I hope she's cute. Seriously, I'm not messing when I say that I almost got smushed. You would all be picking up little pieces of me,' I slowly scracthed Blue behind the ear. She yawned and moved a tiny paw to put it over her face.
'Tootsie can be her mentor! Teach her how to be a cat, and how to be careful around the pegasi!' I laughed.

Pip chuckled. "Yeah, because Tootsie is totally careful..." She said sarcasticly. Tootsie was always getting into trouble. Never once was she careful around the Pegasi but, she could still mentor Blue. It would be cute. Tootsie would be like Blue's mother.

'I suppose when you put it that way...But I don't want a rule behaving cat. I want a cool little rebel! Tootsie is the biggest rebel I know, so she would be perfect!' I chuckled along with Pip.
Blue opened her blue eyes and looked around sleepily. I put her down on the soft sleeping bag, and she stretched. Then she started walking around the bed, stumbling every so often.
'You ever hear that saying, 'Animals are like their owners'? I think it's true. Look how clumsy she is!' as I watched her fall again.

"Come to think of it, I don't believe I jave ever heard anyone say that. But, Blue does seem as clumsy as you." Pip smiled, laughing. Tootsie walked into the room and jumped on Auburn's bunk. "Well, Tootsie meet Blue. Blue meet Tootsie!" Pip shook her head, trying not to laugh. It was kind of funny, a cat mentoring another cat? Will they even get along?

Blue looked sleepily at Tootsie.
'Well, you just did hear it. I can tell you one thing though, Blue is a very loud cat. She might seem quiet, but she has one series meow on her,' to empazise my point, Blue opened her mouth and meowed.
I cracked up laughing.

Pip laughed. "Holy Zeus!" Pip said while still laughing. Tootsie cocked her head to the side, inspecting Blue. Then came a hiss. Tootsie bat at Blue's ear. Pip was up and grabbing Tootsie faster than you could say "Stop!" "Tootsie!"

I picked up Blue and inspected her ear.
'She's fine,' I laughed,'Tootsie probably doesn't like the noise.'
I re-positioned her in my hand and held her out to Tootsie.
'See Tootsie. She isen't going to do anything. She's only a baby.'

Pip glared down at her cat. "Bad!" She pointed a finger at Tootsie, then looked up at Auburn. "Good, I would have to beat Tootsie if she hurt her..." Pip smiled. She was just joking around. She put Tootsie down on then ground. Tootsie strolled into the next room, as if nothing had happened.

I laughed.
'Tootsie is a big sweetie. She probably just thinks she has compeition for the spot of top cat. I think Blue would really just be the one to lounge around doing nothing. I mean, she basically sleeps all the time,' I looked at Blue and found that she was indeed asleep on my hand again.
'See? Lazy as can be,' I put her softly down in the dark little alcove, somewhere around the head of my sleeping bag.
'So how are you Pip? Any news? Anything major happen other then a tatertot battle?' I asked smiling.
As I waited for an answer, I picked up my mirror and started to continue re-applying my eyeshadow. Out the corner of my eye, I spotted a rainbow materialise beside me. Then another one. They were normal rainbows, if there was anything normal about a rainbow appearing beside a girl.
'And again I'm stalked by rainbows,' I muttered, sighing.

Pip smiled, laughing a bit. "Nothing more than a tatertot battle...." Pip absentmindly was tearing lose strings from her shirt. She has ADHD, she couldn't sit down for too long. Pip started to snap pictures as Auburn's rainbow stalkers started to appear. "That really is amazing y'know?"

I watched as Pip took pictures of my own personal stalkers.
'It might seem cool to you, but believe me, I'm not exactly loving them all of the time. I only have them because of my Mom, and I spent the last two weeks hiding them. I don't even know what their trigger is. Why they come, why they change colours...Nothing. Then the fact that my eyes are always changing colours,' I glanced in the mirror again and noticed that they weren't dark violet any more. They were a light violet now.
'See? The best I can make out is that they reflect my mood. I wish I could talk to Iris, but it's not like I can just send her an Iris-message. She'd probably disconnect me,' I poked at one of the rainbows. Nothing happened.
