There hadn't been too many people in the mess hall. Taylor didn't really mind this fact. Actually the only thing she was thinking about at the moment was food. She immediately took her seat in the Khione table, motioning for Alaska to join her. She muttered something to the plates and soon enough it was piled with cheeseburgers. Not the most healthy food out there, but certainly Taylor's favorite. Besides, she can just burn out the calories later while jogging.

"I love this camp," she suddenly declared out of nowhere. Leave it to her ADHD to make her start blurting out random things. "You can eat practically anything. Well, almost. What are you having?" she asked as she took a bite off the juicy burger.

When Taylor and I arrived at the Mess Hall it wasn't full. I was glad I didn't really like crowded places. I sat down next to Taylor when a bunch of cheeseburgers appeared on her plate. When Taylor asked me a question I ignored her because the cheeseburgers made my mouth water. I didn't mean to ignore her. "Huh? Oh..Uh..I think I'm gonna have a cheese burger too." I said. I have never tried a cheeseburger in the morning, but now it was my chance to try it. I muttered a few words and than came a cheeseburger on my plate. I took a bite out of it and it was delicious! "How's your cheeseburger?" I asked Taylor.

Taylor stifled a laugh when she caught a glimpse of Alaska's face. It looked like she was just as hungry as she was, judging from how her mouth seemed to water at the sight of the food piled on her plate. She gave her a thumbs up in response to her question, seeing that she was unable to reply due to her mouth being full of bread.

"It's great," Taylor managed to say after swallowing. "Well, honestly I've tasted better, but can't complain, right?" She chuckled softly as she took a sip off her glass, which miraculously filled itself with orange juice.

"Yeah. You can't waste good food." I said. I chuckled. The burger wasn't to bad. But Taylo was right I think we have tasted better. Like at Micky D's or Burger King. But who would want to waste good food? Certainly not me.

"True," she said, nodding. She finished the last bits of her first burger and she started on her second one. My, she seemed really hungry today, did she? She chewed thoughtfully, realizing that it had gone quiet for a few seconds. Taylor didn't like the silence. It made her feel a little awkward.

"So..." she started, but trailed off as she didn't really know what to say. She bit on her burger to cover up for herself. What did sisters want to talk about? Since she was an only child, she really had no idea.

"So....I was thinking. Since we are gonna go jogging we should deserve a treat. So later when we're finished jogging do you wanna go shopping with me?" I asked Taylor. I really wanted Taylor to go shopping with me. I thought Taylor was really cool. So I thought it would be really fun to go shopping with her. I hoped she would say yes.

Taylor almost choked on her burger. Shopping. Did someone just ask her to go shopping? A shudder ran through her spine. She couldn't really blame Alaska for the suggestion, knowing that they weren't really that close and of course didn't know each other that well. Ha, you'd think a girl whose father had won millions of dollars in a lottery would have grown up shopping for clothes and all that, but Taylor just happened to be the exception. If she were to go to a mall, it would be to eat or to look at skateboards and bikes. Maybe even try out video games if she was out of things to do.

She chewed her food slowly on purpose, trying to drag out the time she'd have until she needed to respond. What was she going to say to that? Alaska was a really nice girl and Taylor didn't really want to hurt her feelings. But in all seriousness, she knew full well that Taylor and shopping were not to be used in the same sentence. She sighed. "Um... I'm not really the shopping-kind of girl," she said, scratching the back of her head awkwardly. "Er... I can go with you if you want but... yeah."

Taylor bit her lip. Oh how she wished she had more talent with words.

"Okay. We can have lunch there. I'll look at whatever you wanna look at. It doesn't matter to me. What do you want to look at?" I asked. I didn't care what we looked at. It didn't have to be clothes or shoes. If Taylor liked something else I could try to take an interest in it. That was the kind of friend I am.

Taylor smiled. "Lunch sounds good," she said with a nod, setting her orange juice back on the table. Really, she was just relieved that she got out of that. Last thing she wanted to do was to go look at clothes and listen to fashion talks all day.

"Skateboards, maybe? I don't really know. It's been ages since I went to the mall," she admitted. "Sometimes I just hang out in the arcades with my buds... but that was a long time ago. Dunno what became of them now," she said, relishing the memory.

"But if you want to shop for clothes, I'm fine with it. Just don't expect an opinion from me." She chuckled at her own words.

"Don't worry I won't go shopping for clothes. I already have enough." I said. I smiled. I loved the arcade. Who didn't? "We could go to the arcade. I love the arcade." I said.

Taylor smiled, knowing the feeling of having enough clothes. She paused for a few moments as a thought snaked its way up her mind. Honestly, how had she gotten through her pre-camp life without having actually shopped for clothes? She didn't have any memory of that. Maybe she had a caring aunt somewhere who shopped for her? That must be it. Realizing that she had been silent for a few seconds, Taylor stood up and mentally blamed her ADHD for drifting off.

"The arcade is one of the most awesome places invented," she declared as she smoothed out the ends of her shirt. "But first things first--jogging. Wouldn't want the burgers to make me fat," she said teasingly, ruffling Alaska's hair.

I smiled. "Your not fat." I said. Taylor was not fat at all. I could see why she wanted to burn the calories because she probably didn't want to gain any more calories. The healthier you are the more you live. And anyway I love jogging. Jogging is a mixture of walking and running. How hard is that to do for 30 minute everyday?

Taylor laughed. She already knew that, but she loved hearing it anyway. It just made her feel smug and comfortable for being on the right track. After stretching her arms, she tapped on Alaska's shoulder before setting off towards Half-Blood Hill in a steady pace.

"Last one's gonna pay for the other's lunch," she called after her, grinning at her head start. She wasn't really serious about that... or was she?

I started jogging and soon I was up to where Taylor was. "Last on there is a rotten egg." I said. I smiled. Then I started to jog a little faster. I started to see Half-Blood Hill. Jogging was fun with Taylor.

Taylor smirked. Was that a challenge? She wasn't going to back down from that. This girl doesn't back down from anything. "You have just challenged a girl who has been jogging almost all her life," she said in between pants, quickening her pace. She was right beside Alaska now. "Hope you know what you're doing." Taylor winked, before putting on a huge burst of speed as she sped towards the hill.

"I know what I'm doing." I said. I smirked. When we made it to the hill it turned out to be a tie. "Nice jogging. Even though it was more like running." I said. I smiled.

Taylor was panting by the time they reached the hill. She bent forward, clutching her knees for support as she tried to even her breathing. Alaska was right; it was more of running than jogging. That also meant it was more tiring. Looking up, she offered her an ear-to-ear grin.

"You didn't think it's over, did you?" she told her playfully in-between gasps of breath. "That barely lasted five minutes. We have around twenty five minutes more to go."

Taylor looked down the way they came before shifting her gaze to the other side of the hill. A small smile lingered briefly on her lips as a memory suddenly made its way to her mind. Shrugging that thought off, she turned back to her sister. "My routine is jogging up and down the hill for a half hour. You up for it?"

"We could jog for 15 minutes and the rest of the time we can jog to the mall. I don't feel like taking a cab." I said. We needed to get excersise. Otherwise well get really fat and watch tv all day and then we would die from being fat. I'm glad now that Taylor suggested this to me.

Taylor glanced at her watch. They had around three hours to kill before noon. Alaska's idea made sense to her--at least by the time they finished jogging, they would already be in the mall. Chilly air-conditioned mall. She grinned. It sounded perfect for two Khione girls.

"Sure," she agreed as she started to jog in place. "Of course, this would mean that we'll be all sweaty while we're walking around the mall. You don't mind, do you?" Laughing slightly, Taylor didn't wait for an answer before throwing Alaska a challenging look and racing back down the hill.

"I don't mind at all." I said. I started running back down the hill and up again many times. By the time it was time to jog to the mall I was already sweaty. "Ready to go?" I asked.
