| I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house That don’t bother me I can take a few tears now and then , and just let them out Cole Dafydd Llewellyn Son of Poseidon Cole had no clue why he had decided to go out to play basketball. Firstly; he was British and the British don't like playing basketball. Well, they do but it's not a very popular sport back at home for him. Two; he didn't even like basketball.
The reason was unclear to him but Cole was here now anyway. Dressed in a bright red Wales football kit, Cole was glad that it was calm with only a small breeze or else his hair would've gone everywhere. Instead, his long dark hair just ruffled slightly in the wind, which he was happy about.
Cole stopped when he saw a girl alread6 in the court but continued forward anyway, not letting her appearence falter him. Whoa, she was hot. Cole watched her dribble the ball forward again and ran slughtly closer to her, his hands outstretched as if he wanted the ball from her. "Mind if I join you?" He asked her, his Welsh accent was thick. I’m not afraid to cry every once in a while Even though going on with you gone still upsets me There are days every now and again I pretend I’m ok But that’s not what gets me

| opal looked up at the sound of someone else approaching. She had thought that for most people wouldn't be able to stand the heat when sweating over a bit of athletics. She would have thought most people would want to find some shade. It was a weekend after all, and that meant no required training. Everyone natrally would be taking a lazy break. Sneak out of camp maybe but not try and work out and train. Opal couldn't help but notice that the guy was...good looking. But she didn't want to let the thought linger, although it did. She quickly looked him up and down before locking a gaze with him. She snapped her wrists, sending a quick pass his way. "You play?" she asked, although it wasn't a very intelligent question. A lot of people at camp played sports, plus the guy looked fit. He could have been the most althetic and strong and capable person out there and she wouldn't know it. | |

| I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house That don’t bother me I can take a few tears now and then , and just let them out Cole Dafydd Llewellyn Son of Poseidon Cole caught the ball easily, shrugging at the girls question. "Not really. How hard can it be right?" He asked her, not really waiting for an answer. He had played before, but never properly. When he meant playing properly, he meant against Americans.
Aiming for the hoop, Cole just took a shot, not being bothered with all the running around and crap. The ball bounced off the ring hoplessly, making Cole roll his eyes, running over to retrieve to ball whilst it bounced in the opposite direction.
Picking it up, he dribbled it for a second before throwing it quickly back at the girl, folding his arms over his chest as he watched her. "Show me how it's done." I’m not afraid to cry every once in a while Even though going on with you gone still upsets me There are days every now and again I pretend I’m ok But that’s not what gets me

| opal caught the ball he tossed back with ease. Her expression towards him was amusing. Her lips curled at the corners slightly, into a snall smirk. "Well, pretty much, it's dribbleing the ball, passing it, shooting it. What's so hard to understand?" she shrugged, not really seeing herself as a coach. She wasn't the best at the sport for that matter, so what kind of coach could she be? Opal tried not to notice his accent. It wasn't like it bothered her mich though. She was used to accents she had traveled so much. Her own voice had its own unique touch to it because of how many ways totalk she has picke uo. "Anyway, I thought you said it couldn't be that hard?" She went in for a quick lay-up. Making the easy shot off the backboard she tossed the ball from over her head, back towards him. "At leas you can catch. You have the basics." | |

| I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house That don’t bother me I can take a few tears now and then , and just let them out Cole Dafydd Llewellyn Son of Poseidon Cole chuckled briefly, shaking his head before taking the ball in his hands again. He was tall enough to play, he supposed, seeing as you had to be, like...a giant to play basketball. He was about 6"5, which was disgustingly tall for someone his age in his opinion but he couldn't prevent his growth.
"I'm not really a basketball kind of guy." He told the girl, feeling the need to explain as he didn't want to start patronising him. That wouldn't be very...nice. "I'm more of a football kind of person. Well, soccer for you but we call it football..." He trailed off, having a feeling that he was talking too much and making a fool of himself.
Cole bounced the ball on the ground. He knew how to play...he just didn't play. He took another shot, this time adding a small jump and he flicked his hands forward to carry the ball. It sort of circled the ring for as moment before falling inside. Cole couldn't stop a smug grin from forming on his lips. | opal smiled lightly and retrieved tha ball. "Lucky shot," she said and passed the ball back to him. Her own rules. You make a shot, you get the ball back. She crossed her arms and turned back to the boy. "And I've heard of the game. Both of its names I mean. I was born in Spain, and have traveled enough to understand all the American football-soccer-football confusion. But I wouldn't really call myself American." she shrugged and shifted her weight from her left foot to her right.

| I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house That don’t bother me I can take a few tears now and then , and just let them out Cole Dafydd Llewellyn Son of Poseidon Taking thr ball back, the son of Poseidon didn't question why he had another shot, just accepting it anyway. He rolled the ball over in his hands for a second before grinning, having an idea. Whilst dribbling the ball, he ran forward and jumped; one hand grabbing the metal of the basket as he tried to do what he thought was a slam-dunk, yet he wasn't too sure. He was tall enough to grab the basket with the tips of his fingers but the ball slipped from his grasp before he could get it in, bouncing back in the girl's direction.
"I got too cocky." Cole told the girl sheepishly, running a hand through his long dark hair in an attempt to keep it off his face. Stepping forward, he stood next to the girl, looking up at the basket as he waited for her to take her shot. "I'm Cole, by the way." He told her, watching her in the corners of his eyes as he mouth twitched up into a amused smile. | opal couldn't help but laugh at his fetal attempt of a dunk at the basket. She easily retrieved the ball, but really couldn't stop her giggles as he came to stand next to her. She spun the ball in her hands before taking another quick shot, it making that swish sound as it hit nothing but the net. "I'm Opal," she told him, not going after the ball this time as it bounced into the grass and only stopped a few feet away. She set her hands on her hips and looked back to Cole. "So, you're not really from around here are you? Where you from, specifically?" Opal knew it was definitly somewhere in Europe. She was normally pretty good at defining where people were from.

| I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house That don’t bother me I can take a few tears now and then , and just let them out Cole Dafydd Llewellyn Son of Poseidon Cole watched the ball bounce before shuffling on his feet to face Opal, drumming his fingers against his leg without thinking, his eyes fixed on her.
Using his other hand, he waved his finger in the air as if he was trying Britain on a map, trying to help himself explain. He loved explaining about Britain to people that weren't exactly sure about it. "You know the UK is split into four parts; England, Scotland, Northen Ireland and Wales. Well, you know the country to the left of England? Yeah, that's Wales; where I'm from." He shrugged, still smiling.
Well, his smile fell when a thought came to him mind. Folding his arms across his chest, he raised his eyebrows at Opal. "You're not a daughter of Zeus, are you?" He asked her suspiciously, disgusted by the thought. | opal ave him the courtesy of being able to explain. She was really just looking for a straight up answer because she knew farely well of the geography of the UK and what not. She wasn't going to say that though. Opal smiled though, as he explained he was from Wales. She laughed, however, hysterically when he suggested she was a daughter of Zeus. "You're kidding right?" she asked running a hand through her long hair. "Me? A daughter of Zeus? That's hilarious! My mother is Iris, he goddess of rainbows. Why? Is your dad Zues and you were afraid we'd be simblings without even noticing?" She laughe lightly.

| I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house That don’t bother me I can take a few tears now and then , and just let them out Cole Dafydd Llewellyn Son of Poseidon Cole laughed, his voice full of relief as he stood in front of Opal, glad this this girl just wasn't a daughter of Zeus. At least he could stay being friendly with her.
"Me? A son of Zeus? Please. Like I would be able to be related to..." He trailed off, not wanting to be zapped by an electric bolt. he risked a glance at the clouds before grinning at Opal. [color:1e94=\00FF00]"No, I'm a son of Poseidon." He said with a shrug, not really thinking much about it.
"But, you know what you need for rainbows? He asked her with a sweet smile and a mischievousness glint in his eyes. "......water." | opal gave cole a questioning smile. Poseidon? Another major godling was before her and she as wondering if she should be disgusted, discouraged, happy or relieved. For some reason, her experiences with kids out of her own cabin, cabin two, seemed to be much more successful and, well, much more happy, to put it that way. Especially if you're talking dating relationships... But that was really besides the point. She was really more into the fact that his father as one of the Big Three. That must have been why he was wondering if her father was Zeus. The thought still made her laugh. Her? Big Three material? "Well," Opal said, continuously running her hands through her hair, nervously, if anything. "I guess you could say that," she gave him a look, her eyes changing from a gentle blue to a mischievous light pink. "Unless you are me, when you can create rainbows with the flick of your hand and can change the color of light."

"That was ho-awesome." He laughed, trying to cover up what he had almost said and not sure whether it had worked.
He watched Opal run her hands through her long hair nervously, biting his lip for a moment before looking away from her, to the ground briefly before back up at her, smirking.
"So, Miss I-can-make-rainbows-'cus-I'm-a-baddass; make a rainbow." He laughed, his face gleaming with happiness and amusment. | opal raised her eyebrow at him, wondeing what he wa about to say, so she asked, sticking her ear towards him sarcastically. "What was that? Were you about to say something else there?" She gave him a look, then rolled her eyes. Opal, deciding to let the topic drop, closed her eyes and did what she did best. A magnificent rainbow erupted around them, dozens of colors circling them in a fairy-tale vortex of light. Nothing seemed to be able to show through as the color encased them. It only stopped when Opal took a step back, her eyes opening showing more of a tired grey. She ended up sitting in the black top. The only trace of the rainbow ever being there was a subtle gleam that was even then fading. "Sorry," she said taking in a shaky breath. "I was showing off." Opal shrugged, as if it was nothing.

He silently watched as Opal created the vortex of different colours, his jaw dropping for a moment as she showed him her power. When she was finished, he reached out to put her hand on her shoulder in a friendly way.
"Jeez, that was awesome. I wouod offer to show you what I can do but..." He looked around with a shrug, not bothered that he didn't have to be the centre of attention. He didn't really like being in the spot-light much. "....it's too dry. | opal laughed lightly, the touch of hi hand on her shoulder made her slightly nervous. Just a tiny bit. Not much. Just sent goose bumps up her arms. She absentmindedly shrugged it off her expression showing how unsure she was. Lately she hasn't liked the touch of people, especially guys. It seems to personal, and close. Something Opal didn't want to risk by getting hurt again. "Are you looking to show off, Cole?" Opal asked, her smile returning. "Do you think you really need to show me how much cooler your powers are than mine by showing off. I bend light, you bend water. I think we know the winner there."

"I'll save you the humiliation."
Looking around out of brief boredom, Cole crossed over to yhe abandoned ball that was lying on the ground. Picking it up, he bouced it once and caught itbefore throwing it at Opal gently, getting between her amd the hoop.
"Try and pass me." He laughed, knowing that she would probably be able to do it, but he wanted to have some fun. Plus, he was pretty tall so she would have to try and get around him rather than throw it over. | opal caught the ball and held it at her hip, her eyebrows raised at Cole in doubt. She looked him up and down, only moving her eyes in a swift and quick motion, before holding his gaze again. He couldn't be serious, right? He had said it himself. He had literally asked her how it was done, and now he was willing to play? Opal rolled her eyes and sighed, deciding that she probably could not change his mind. So she dribbled right at him, faking right and then switching her dribble to her left hand, taking at step for a layup. She began to go up for a shot and the ball left her finger tips, when she lost her footing. Her ankle gave out and she ended up on the ground, her hands thrown out to catch herself. The ball went through the hoop. I'm such a klutz, Opal thought, sighing, her smile still spread across her face. She laughed lightly.

Whoa. Repeating that sentance in his head and he felt like a jerk, even though he wasn't.
"Oh crap." He breathed, running to the girls side and leaning over her, taking a quick look at her ankle. In the corner of his eye, he saw her smile and frowned, wondering what had taken her attention. He laughed as he watched to ball go in, shaking his head before tucking his hair behind one of his ears, watching Opal with amazment and disbelief.
"You're something else, you know that?" he asked with an even bigger smile then before, clearing his throat and becoming serious again. "Do you need me to carry you to the infirmary, or something?" | opal gave cole a look that clearly said, "Are you serious? she laughed again lightly, rolling her eyes at his reaction. "Something special? Wasn't that a race horse or something?" She laughed again and shook her head. "I'm fine. I've been through worse. I don't need to be carried anywhere so it looks like you missed out. Sorry." Opal smiled and shrugged, then attempting to get to her feet but flaring her arms out to catch herself instead. Her hands landed on Cole's shoulders holding tight to regain her balence. Okay. It hurt a little more than she expected. "I'm fine." She said again.

"Oh crap." He said with a laugh, his face covered in concern for his new friend. He needed to make sure she was okay. Whoa, that was weird. Cole was actually being...nice to somebody. Huh...that was rare.
"Damn. Can you walk on it?" He asked her, not taking his hands off her or moving away. He frowned, wonndering whether he would have to actually carry her. That would be...awkward but managable. | opal nodded and rolled her eyes. She was fine. Just a subtle twist, something she was definitly used to and did not need help for. Yet she didn't take her hands off Cole's shoulders, keeping herself steady while her foot was poised and had as little weight in it as possible. "I've been through much, much worse, trust me." Opal assured him. "I have weak ankles," she laughed. "This happens all the time." She put a bit of weight on it, slowly setting it down on the ground with a bit of pressure, and she winced a bit and squeezed Cole's shoulder. "Okay," she breathed. "Maybe its not only a twist, but im not going to the infirmary."

Quickly and before Opal could protest, he scooped her up into his arms and carried her to the side of the court and against the fence, setting her lightly on the concrete before sitting down next to her.
Cole looked over at Opal and considered what she had said about the infirmiary. Huh, she sounded like one of his friends; who as absolutly terrified of Doctors yet didn't admit it.
"Do you want anything?" He asked her slowly, with a half-smile. I’m not afraid to cry every once in a while Even though going on with you gone still upsets me There are days every now and again I pretend I’m ok But that’s not what gets me

| opal gasped when cole swept her up like it was nothing. She was about to tell him off, demand to be put down despite the lack of being able to walk, but he set her down along the side of the court where the fence lined it. She used her arms to hel herself into a more comfotable position, but besides that, she was glad to be off to the side and in a more lenient position. "Uh, thanks," she uttered softly, looking up towards Cole. "And yeah, I um, don't need anything. Like I said, this happens all the time." She laughed lightly. | |
