The Poseidon (Cabin 3) Table

I sat at the table with my siblings as the dryads and nymphs laid down the platters in front of us. I was about to dig in, when everyone rose, heading towards the large brazier. Food offerings to the gods. I chose a large, juicy piece of bar-b-q and tossed it in, murmuring, "For Poseidon."

I sat down next a girl at my table. "Hey." I said poking at my bread with my finger.

"Hello," I replied, eying her bread. I love bread. It's one of my favorite things to eat.

I see her looking at the bread. "You want it?" I said.

"No thanks," I replied hastily, not wanting to insult anyone. "So, how many years have you been at camp?" I asked, anxious to change the subject. I dug into my rolls happily.

"Five." I answered. "I've never seen you around Camp though so are you new?" I asked.

"Yeah, first year. I'm 12."

"Wow, I said impressively. "I killed the Minotaur my first year. I guess it's like this thing all the Poseidon kids have to do to prove themselves...lol."

"I remember that stinky bag of meat." I said scowling. "He ate my mom's favorite car." I said.
