So, the glorious battle will be coming to an end shortly, due to there being too much glory for any single website. >:V And also because, you know, it has to at some point. ANYWAY we've thrown together a new competition for you to celebrate your hard-earned triumph! The camp might be burning rubble now but NEVER FEAR BECAUSE AT LEAST WE'LL BE GETTING A NEW BANNER. Well, possibly. Allow Sniggle to explain~
There has been a lot of talk in the past of taking down the old banner and replacing with a more formal, updated one. The idea was generally shot down because the older members got very attached to it and did not wish to see it go, which is understandable. But the battle's end will bring change, and we've decided that the banner should be included in this change!
So, we'll be having a site-wide competition that every member of the site can partake in, whether member or admin. Any member will be given the opportunity to submit one banner entry. Yes, this means you create your own banner. This does NOT mean steal one off the internet. This means make one using that artistic talent of yours. If you wish to use a picture you found on deviantArt or something as a background for the banner, we require you get permission from the artist who took or made the picture. Absolutely no stealing! We'd prefer not to get sued and shut down. ;( The dimensions will be smaller than the one now--450x350 pixels, 450 being the width and 350 being the height.
You'll have two weeks, until September 25th to get in your entry, sending it to one of the administrators in a pm titled "Banner entry." Once again, each member is limited to one entry. At the end of the two weeks, the admins will compile all the entries into a topic with a poll. We'll make a new thread in the news and updates announcing where the poll is located with a link to it, so don't worry about that.
The entries will be in a single thread for everyone to see--and they will not have names on them. The administrators will keep track in the admin house so that when the winner is chosen, we'll announce who it is. But this is meant to be voting strictly on how the banner looks and which one you'd most like to see on the top of the site. It'll be there for a while, so choose wisely! And of course, for all you nostalgic folks out there, the last entry will be the original CHB banner.
From then on it's simple. Whichever banner gets the most votes becomes the new CHB banner at the top of the homepage. Everyone will see it, so perfect your entries! The winner will receive not only the pride of having their work displayed on top of our beloved site, but also a nifty prize of 1,500 drachmas. Pretty sweet, eh?
We hope to see plenty of competition, because we know there are lots of capable graphic designers on the site! And the winner will be chosen by the members. So work hard, have fun, make CHB proud, and a bunch of other inspirational blah!
