First of all, why would your parents care? If they love you, they would accept you for who you are, not what you are not. If your friends are real good friends, they'd do the same as well. Kids can be jerks sometimes, trust me, I know. I've been picked on and called names just because I like books. But as long as you've one friend that'll stick by you through anything, then you're golden.
If the guy friend asks you who you like, and you want to keep it a secret, just tell him A) Percy Jackson (Or any fictional character you like, really) or B) No one at the moment... I've done these things TONS of times, and they've all worked for me!
Seriously, don't care what other people think. Humans are a judgmental race, and there is really nothing we can do about it. So I say, why not enjoy the ride?
